Job description

Lead the Vanguard: Become the Chair of the Lyonic Scots Clan Society!

Are you a visionary leader with a heart for history and a passion for building community?

The Lyonic Scots Clan Society is calling for a Chair to guide our Clan into its next bold chapter.

The Lyonic Scots Clan Society is no ordinary organisation. We are a thriving community and a modern micronation, drawing inspiration from the indomitable legacy of Robert “The Lyon” and the survivors of Culloden. We are keepers of the flame, dedicated to celebrating Highland identity, fostering deep-rooted kinship, and defending the enduring spirit of belonging and our roar can still be heard far and wide.

As our influence expands across the UK and onto the international stage, we are seeking a Chair—a natural leader and a strategic visionary—to steer our Committee and unite our members under our shared mission.

The Call to Leadership

This is the pinnacle of service within our Society. As Chair, you will be the figurehead and the guiding light of our society, representing and supporting our Clan Chief (The Prince of Scots). You will not only oversee the governance of our organisation but also champion our cultural identity, ensuring that everything we do—from our grassroots projects to our grand events—remains true to our core values of courage, integrity, and honour.

Working alongside our Treasurer, Secretary, and Committee, as well as the Lyonic Scots Clan Chief and Prince, The Prince of Scots and the Lyon's Council, you will set the agenda, inspire our membership, and ensure the Lyonic Scots Clan Society remains a beacon for those who value Scottish heritage.

Your Impact as Chair

  • Visionary Strategy: Shape the future of the Clan. You will lead the Council in developing long-term goals that preserve our heritage while embracing the future.

  • Ambassador for the Clan: Act as the primary voice of the Society, representing our values and community to our members and the wider public.

  • Master of Governance: Preside over meetings, facilitate decision-making, and ensure our organisational house is in order, fully compliant with all UK standards.

  • Unity and Growth: Foster a culture of inclusivity and kinship, ensuring that every member—from the Highlands to the wider UK—feels an intrinsic part of our story.

Who We Are Looking For

You do not need to be Scottish by birth; you only need to be committed to our cause and possess the leadership gravitas to move us forward.

We are seeking a Chair who is:

  • A Natural Leader: You have experience in chairing committees, leading teams, or directing projects, with a calm and decisive demeanour.

  • A Strategic Thinker: You can see the big picture and guide a Council toward sustainable growth.

  • A Clear Communicator: You are comfortable representing a passionate community and can keep our membership engaged and inspired.

  • Organised and Principled: You value good governance, transparency, and the importance of constitutional integrity.

  • Deeply Invested: You hold a genuine respect for Scottish history, culture, and the importance of community building in the modern world.

Why Take the Helm?

  • Make Your Mark: Lead a growing, vibrant movement and shape the legacy of the Lyonic Scots for years to come.

  • Join a Respected Inner Circle: Work with a dedicated team of volunteers who are as passionate about our history as you are.

  • A Role of Significance: Use your leadership skills in a capacity that genuinely nourishes community identity and cultural preservation.

  • Flexibility: While this is a pivotal role, we offer a remote-friendly environment that allows you to lead effectively while balancing your own life.

Answer the Call

The future of the Lyonic Scots Clan Society is yours to shape. If you have the vision to lead, the heart to serve, and the passion to champion our heritage, we would be honoured to hear from you.

Apply now through CharityJob and take your place at the head of the Council.

If you would like a confidential conversation about the Society’s future or the responsibilities of the Chair, please contact our team—we would be delighted to welcome you into the fold.
