VOLUNTEER ROLE: Volunteer Coordinator / Head of Volunteering
The Lyonic Scots Clan Society
Remote | UK‑based applicants only
The Lyonic Scots Clan Society is a modern Scottish cultural organisation inspired by the legacy of Robert “The Lyon” and the survivors of Culloden. We celebrate Scottish heritage, Highland identity, and the enduring spirit of courage, kinship, and belonging.
As our community continues to grow across the UK and internationally, we are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator / Head of Volunteering to help build, support, and guide our volunteer team.
This is a key leadership role — perfect for someone who values heritage, community, and helping people feel part of something meaningful.
About the Role
The Volunteer Coordinator / Head of Volunteering will lead the development of our volunteer programme, ensuring that every volunteer feels welcomed, supported, and connected to the mission of the Society.
You will work closely with the Chair, Secretary, and Committee to recruit volunteers, match them to suitable roles, and help create a warm, organised, and engaging volunteer culture.
This role is fully remote, but you must be based in the UK for safeguarding, governance, and coordination purposes.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
-
Lead the development of the Society’s volunteer programme
-
Recruit, onboard, and support new volunteers
-
Match volunteers to roles based on skills and interests
-
Maintain simple volunteer records and communication channels
-
Help create a positive, inclusive volunteer culture
-
Support volunteers with questions, guidance, and encouragement
-
Work with the Committee to identify new volunteer needs
-
Help ensure volunteers feel valued, appreciated, and part of the clan community
-
Assist with volunteer engagement for events, heritage projects, and campaigns
(Responsibilities can be shaped around your strengths and availability.)
