Job description

Do you want to build more than just a team — and create a thriving volunteer community people are proud to be part of?

MINDSET Charity is a brand-new initiative focused on helping men improve their mental wellbeing, confidence, and personal growth.

As we grow, we know that our volunteers will be at the heart of everything we do.

That’s why we’re looking for a volunteer Head of HR and Volunteering to lead the way.

This is a unique opportunity to design and shape an outstanding volunteering experience from the ground up — one that not only supports our mission, but truly invests in the people who give their time to it.

You will play a key role in building a strong, values-driven volunteer culture that feels supportive, professional, and inspiring — a team spirit that sets MINDSET apart.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the design and development of a high-quality volunteering programme.

  • Creating a positive, structured, and rewarding volunteer experience.

  • Overseeing recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of volunteers.

  • Building a strong sense of community, belonging, and team spirit.

  • Developing HR systems, policies, and procedures in line with UK guidelines.

  • Preparing MINDSET for future growth as an employer.

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone organised, people-focused, and proactive.

  • Experience or interest in HR, volunteering management, or people development.

  • A strong understanding of good practice in volunteer engagement and retention.

  • Confidence in creating systems, processes, and policies from scratch.

  • A genuine passion for building positive team cultures and supporting others.

You don’t need to have held a senior HR title before — what matters is your ability to lead, structure, and create a great experience for others.

In return, you’ll gain:

  • The opportunity to shape the heart of a growing charity.

  • Strategic leadership experience in HR and volunteering.

  • A major portfolio piece with real organisational impact.

  • The chance to build a volunteer culture that genuinely stands out.

  • A supportive and purpose-driven leadership team.

This isn’t just about HR — it’s about creating an environment where people feel valued, motivated, and proud to contribute.

If you believe volunteers deserve more than just a role — but a real experience and opportunity — we want to hear from you.

Join MINDSET and help us build a volunteer community that truly sets the standard.
