Volunteer Swimming Assistant

Peaceful Place is a specialist dementia charity supporting people to remain active, independent and connected to their community.  We focus on abilities, not limitations, helping every person who attends our day centre continue to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

We are looking for a volunteer to help our staff and assist our members in swimming sessions at a local swimming pool on Wednesdays.

Duties of this role:

Help our members take part in the swimming session by assisting them in the changing room and pool, joining the activity under the guidance of our members of staff.

You will:

• Be given full training
• Enjoy the opportunity to work as part of a team
• Meet people and make new friends
• Be helping your local community

The most important skill you will need to possess is a kind, caring and patient nature.  You will also need excellent observational skills. 

If you can spare a few hours on a Wednesday to help, we would be very happy to hear from you.

We have a friendly and welcoming team here at the Peaceful Place Day Centre and we will support you as a volunteer if you choose to help us. 

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role (we will cover the cost)
