Job description

Volunteer Head of Marketing & Communications

Location: REMOTE

Type: Volunteer (Executive/Strategic Leadership)

Category: Marketing, Public Relations, Communications Strategy, & Brand Management

The Opportunity

The Principality of Lys is looking for a Head of Marketing & Communications to serve as the chief architect of our public voice. We are not just building a micro-state; we are building a brand founded on beauty, culture, honour, and community.

You will be responsible for defining how the world sees us, how we speak to our future citizens, and how we position ourselves on the global stage. This is a rare opportunity for a marketing visionary to lead the total brand development of a sovereign entity from the ground up.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Brand Strategy & Positioning: Defining the visual, verbal, and conceptual identity of Lys to ensure it remains cohesive and prestigious across all touchpoints.

  • Integrated Campaigns: Leading the strategy for global recruitment campaigns (like our 2,014 citizenship initiative) and cultural storytelling efforts.

  • Media Relations: Managing our outreach to international press, establishing the Principality as a legitimate and respected entity in the public eye.

  • Content Ecosystem: Overseeing the output of the Information, Media, and Communications Committee, ensuring that every video, brochure, and social post reinforces our core values.

  • Growth Marketing: Developing data-driven strategies to reach our target demographics of prospective citizens, partners, and cultural ambassadors.

Who You Are

  • You are an experienced Marketing or Communications Director/Manager with a background in brand building, ideally in luxury, lifestyle, or high-concept organisational projects.

  • You are a strategic master of the "long game," capable of balancing immediate PR wins with long-term brand equity.

  • You possess a sharp aesthetic sense and an impeccable command of tone—you know how to make a message feel both "Princely" and accessible.

  • You are comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams (graphic designers, copywriters, filmmakers) and synthesising their work into a unified vision.

Why Volunteer With Us?

  • Unparalleled Creative Agency: There is no "corporate red tape" here. You will have the creative freedom to define the voice and look of a nation.

  • Strategic Influence: You will sit at the leadership table, helping to shape the very mission and trajectory of the Principality.

  • Legacy Building: Your work will define the history and perception of Lys for decades to come. This is the ultimate "founding member" opportunity for a marketing expert.

How to Apply

If you are ready to command the narrative of the Principality of Lys, please submit your professional CV and a brief case study or executive summary detailing how you would launch a brand identity for a new micro-state via CharityJob.

Please note: This is an executive-level volunteer position requiring high-level strategic thinking, professional discretion, and a proven ability to lead. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed to discuss their strategic vision and experience.
