Job description

Volunteering Programme Volunteer

Help us recruit, onboard, motivate, schedule, and support volunteers who bring SUNSHINE into Londoners’ lives

London is one of the most electric, fast-paced cities on Earth. Yet beneath the energy, a quiet crisis is unfolding.

Across the city, thousands of adults experience chronic loneliness and isolation every single day.

SUNSHINE exists to change that — boldly, joyfully, and unapologetically.

We bring positivity, warmth, and human connection into the lives of people who need it most.

To make that happen, we need an incredible volunteer team. And to build that team, we need you.

We’re looking for Volunteering Programme Volunteers to help us recruit, onboard, motivate, schedule, and engage volunteers across London — ensuring every SUNSHINE Programme is powered by passionate, positive humans.

What You’ll Do

1. Recruit Volunteers

Reach out across London to find kind, energetic people who want to help reduce loneliness. You’ll help us grow a diverse, vibrant volunteer community.

2. Onboard With Warmth

Welcome new volunteers, guide them through the onboarding process, and help them feel confident, supported, and excited to join the SUNSHINE community/family.

3. Motivate & Engage

Keep volunteers inspired, connected, and valued. You’ll help build a culture of joy, encouragement, and human connection within the volunteer team.

4. Schedule & Coordinate

Support the organisation of volunteer rotas, programme staffing, and activity coverage — ensuring every SUNSHINE Programme has the right people in the right place at the right time.

5. Champion Volunteer Experience

Check in with volunteers, gather feedback, celebrate wins, and help create a volunteer journey that feels uplifting, meaningful, and full of positivity.

Who We Need

1. A Positive Human

Someone who radiates warmth, optimism, and genuine care for people — both volunteers and residents.

2. A Natural Connector

You enjoy meeting new people, building relationships, and helping others feel welcome and appreciated.

3. Organised & Reliable

You’re comfortable managing small processes, keeping track of schedules, and supporting volunteers with clarity and consistency.

4. A Team Player

You love working collaboratively and supporting others to shine.

5. Empathetic & Purpose-Driven

You believe loneliness is a social issue we can solve together — and you want to be part of that solution.

Why Volunteer With SUNSHINE?

1. Shape the Heart of Our Charity

You’ll help build the volunteer community that powers every SUNSHINE Programme across London.

2. Real Human Impact

Every volunteer you recruit, onboard, or support will help guide isolated individuals out of loneliness and into connection.

3. Supportive Founding Team

You’ll be backed by our Founder and a growing team of volunteers who believe deeply in this mission.

4. Pure Joy

You’ll help create a volunteer experience filled with positivity, encouragement, floating bubbles, and friendly smiles.

Ready to Help Build London’s Most Positive Volunteer Community?

If you want to help us grow, support, and energise the volunteer team that brings SUNSHINE into people’s lives, we’d love to meet you.

Let’s make something beautiful together.
