About SUNSHINE Charity

SUNSHINE Charity is a new volunteer-powered community organisation working to reduce loneliness and social isolation by creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, build friendships, and feel part of something bigger.

We believe that no one should feel invisible in their own community.

As we prepare to launch our first programmes across East London, we are looking for a passionate and motivated Fundraising Lead to help secure the resources needed to turn our vision into reality.

This is an exciting opportunity to join SUNSHINE at the very beginning and play a vital role in helping us grow from a start-up initiative into a thriving community charity.

The Opportunity

As our Fundraising Lead, you will help build the financial foundations of SUNSHINE Charity.

You will lead our fundraising efforts, helping us secure donations, grants, sponsorships, and community support that will allow us to reach more people and create lasting impact.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to use their skills, creativity, and passion to help build something meaningful from the ground up.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing and implementing SUNSHINE’s fundraising strategy
• Identifying grant and trust funding opportunities
• Researching and preparing funding applications
• Supporting crowdfunding and community fundraising campaigns
• Developing relationships with donors and supporters
• Exploring corporate sponsorship and partnership opportunities
• Helping create fundraising materials and appeals
• Working with the Marketing & Communications team to promote campaigns
• Supporting fundraising events and activities
• Monitoring fundraising performance and opportunities

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need extensive fundraising experience to apply.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about helping communities thrive
• Believes in SUNSHINE’s mission to reduce loneliness and social isolation
• Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Is proactive, organised, and self-motivated
• Enjoys researching opportunities and developing ideas
• Can work collaboratively within a volunteer team
• Is enthusiastic about helping a new charity grow

Experience in fundraising, sales, business development, bid writing, marketing, community engagement, corporate partnerships, or grant applications would be beneficial but is not essential.
