Job description

Design the Future of SUNSHINE — Become Our Volunteer Graphic Designer

Volunteer Role: Graphic Designer

Location: REMOTE

Are you a creative soul who loves turning ideas into visuals that make people stop, feel and connect? SUNSHINE — a bold, start‑up grassroots loneliness charity in London — is looking for a talented and imaginative Graphic Designer to help shape our visual identity and bring our mission to life.

If you want to use your creativity to spark connection, hope and community, this role is calling you.

Who We Are

SUNSHINE is a small but ambitious start‑up charity dedicated to tackling loneliness and social isolation across London. We bring warmth, belonging and human connection through:

  • Weekly Coffee Mornings

  • Our Digital Inclusion & Skills Programme

  • Befriending support

  • Community events, workshops and more

We’re growing — and we need a Graphic Designer who can help us shine visually as brightly as we do in the community.

Your Mission: Create, Design and Inspire

As our Graphic Designer, you’ll play a key role in shaping SUNSHINE’s visual presence across all platforms.

You will:

  • Create eye‑catching graphics for social media, campaigns and events.

  • Develop visual assets that reflect SUNSHINE’s warmth, positivity and mission.

  • Support the Head of Communications with branding and design needs.

  • Design posters, flyers, digital content and promotional materials.

  • Help build a consistent, recognisable and uplifting visual identity.

  • Bring creativity, colour and clarity to everything we share with the world.

Your designs will help people discover SUNSHINE, feel connected and know they’re not alone.

What You Bring

We’re a start‑up charity — so passion, creativity and initiative matter just as much as experience.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

  • A creative thinker with a strong eye for design.

  • Confident using design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite or similar).

  • Someone who loves visual storytelling.

  • Excited by the chance to shape a charity’s visual identity from scratch.

  • Organised, proactive and full of ideas.

  • Motivated by purpose, community and meaningful impact.

If you’ve ever wanted to use your creativity to make a real difference, this is your moment.

What You’ll Gain

  • A unique opportunity to build and shape the visual identity of a growing charity.

  • A portfolio of meaningful, purpose‑driven design work.

  • Creative freedom to experiment, innovate and make your mark.

  • A warm, friendly team who value your ideas and your wellbeing.

  • The deep fulfilment of helping people feel less alone through the power of design.

Ready to Bring SUNSHINE to Life Through Design?

If this role excites you — even if you’re not sure you tick every box — we’d love to hear from you.

Join us in creating a London where no one feels forgotten, and where community truly means connection.

Apply today and help us design a brighter, more connected future.
