We’re a brand‑new, volunteer‑powered start‑up charity with a bright mission: to reduce loneliness and social isolation through positive, engaging, community‑based activities that bring people together.

Our charity number is imminent, our programmes are developing, and our vision is growing. Now, we’re seeking an exceptional leader to help guide us into our next chapter.

Volunteer Role: Chair of the Board of Trustees

As our Founder steps back from chairing the board to focus on building and running the charity day‑to‑day, we are looking for an experienced, confident and inspiring Chair who can lead our Board of Trustees with clarity, compassion and purpose.

This is a pivotal role — one that will help shape the future of SUNSHINE Charity and ensure we remain strong, ethical, effective and mission‑focused.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience serving as a Trustee or Chair within a charity or similar organisation.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, support and performance‑manage a board.

• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

• Confidence in steering strategic discussions and ensuring good governance.

• A warm, people‑centred approach aligned with our mission.

• A commitment to giving a few hours per week to help us grow and thrive.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and inspire the Board of Trustees.

• Ensure the board is informed, engaged and performing effectively as a team.

• Support good governance, accountability and strategic direction.

• Work collaboratively with our Founder and leadership team.

• Help shape the charity’s future as we expand across London and beyond.

• Champion our mission to reduce loneliness and build joyful, connected communities.
