Job description

Lead the movement to raise awareness of loneliness and shine a light on SUNSHINE’s mission.

If you’re passionate about social issues, enjoy storytelling, and want to help drive a meaningful community campaign, this role gives you the chance to make a real impact.

About the Role

As our Loneliness Awareness & Campaigns Lead, you’ll take the lead in designing, planning and delivering campaigns that raise awareness of loneliness and promote SUNSHINE’s work. You’ll help shape our message, create engaging content, build community connections, and inspire people to get involved.

This is a creative, strategic and outward‑facing volunteer role — perfect for someone who wants to champion a cause and help a small charity grow.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and leading awareness campaigns about loneliness.

  • Creating simple, engaging content for social media.

  • Sharing stories that highlight the impact of SUNSHINE.

  • Building relationships with local groups, schools, businesses and partners.

  • Supporting community outreach and public engagement.

  • Helping plan campaign events, awareness days and local initiatives.

  • Working with the Founder/CEO to shape campaign strategy.

  • Encouraging volunteers and supporters to get involved in spreading the message.

You won’t be responsible for managing staff, running paid advertising, or handling complex PR.

What You Don’t Need

  • Professional marketing or campaign experience.

  • Qualifications.

  • To be an expert in loneliness.

  • A big time commitment.

We welcome anyone who is passionate, creative and wants to make a difference.

Time Commitment

2–4 hours per week, flexible around your life. Can be done remotely with optional in‑person outreach.

What You’ll Gain

  • Experience leading a real community campaign.

  • Skills in social media, outreach and public engagement.

  • Confidence in advocacy and awareness‑raising.

  • A friendly team and ongoing support.

  • The chance to shape how SUNSHINE is seen and understood.

  • The satisfaction of helping people feel less alone.

Ideal For

  • Passionate, creative people.

  • Students, career‑changers, retirees.

  • Anyone wanting experience in campaigns, advocacy or communications.

  • Someone who wants to lead something meaningful and visible.

How to Apply

If you’d like to lead a campaign that brings hope, connection and awareness to your community, we’d love to hear from you.
