SUNSHINE Charity is a joyful, human‑driven movement tackling loneliness through connection, kindness and uplifting experiences. We’re growing fast — new programmes, new volunteers, new community groups — and now we need an Operations Lead who can help us build the internal systems, processes and structure that keep everything running smoothly.

As Operations Lead, you’ll help us:

  • Build our operational infrastructure

  • Create smooth, safe, efficient processes

  • Support volunteers and programme leads

  • Keep the charity aligned with UK good practice

  • Ensure our mission is delivered with clarity, care and consistency

Your work becomes the backbone of SUNSHINE — enabling us to reach more people, support more volunteers and grow our impact across London.

Key duties will include

  • Lead the set‑up and development of SUNSHINE’s operational systems Build processes for communication, coordination, record‑keeping, volunteer support and programme delivery.

  • Create smooth workflows across the charity Help teams collaborate effectively, stay organised and deliver high‑quality experiences.

  • Support programme leads and volunteer coordinators Ensure they have the tools, information and structure they need to succeed.

  • Develop policies and procedures Work with governance, safeguarding and GDPR leads to ensure SUNSHINE follows UK charity good practice.

  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations Help manage scheduling, logistics, documentation, reporting and internal communication.

  • Champion SUNSHINE’s values Ensure every process reflects joy, humanity, kindness, dignity and community spirit.

Who you are

You'll bring:

  • Strong organisation and planning skills

  • A calm, structured, solution‑focused mindset

  • A positive, uplifting, can‑do attitude

  • Confidence in building systems and improving processes

  • Great communication and teamwork

  • Experience in operations, project management or charity work (helpful but not essential)
