People are crying out for connection. After lockdown, loneliness has become one of the biggest challenges facing our communities — and SUNSHINE Charity was created to change that.

We’re building programmes that bring people together, spark joy and help people feel part of something again. But before we can launch in 2026, we need a team of brilliant, enthusiastic volunteers to help us get everything up and running.

Volunteer With Us as a Start‑Up Charity Volunteer

This is a flexible, varied and exciting role where no two weeks look the same. You’ll help us build the foundations of SUNSHINE Charity and get us ready to deliver the much‑needed services our communities are waiting for.

You’ll be part of the team that turns our mission into reality.

What You Might Be Doing

Depending on your skills, interests and availability, you could help with:

• Supporting our Working Groups (Programmes, Fundraising, HR, Marketing)

• Helping us organise documents, plans and launch materials

• Assisting with events, outreach and community engagement

• Creating content, ideas or simple admin support

• Helping us shape our volunteer journey and early processes

• Being an extra pair of hands wherever needed as we prepare to launch

You don’t need specialist experience — just enthusiasm, reliability and a desire to help a new charity grow.

Who You Are

Someone who:

• Wants to make a real difference in people’s lives

• Enjoys helping out, supporting a team and getting stuck in

• Has skills or experience to offer — or simply a willingness to learn

• Likes variety and being part of a start‑up environment

• Can give a little time each month to help us get launch‑ready

• Believes in reducing loneliness and bringing sunshine into communities
