SUNSHINE Charity was created from a simple but powerful belief: no one should feel alone. After the isolation of lockdown, we’re building a charity that brings people together, sparks joy and creates real community.

As we prepare to launch in 2026, we’re building a strong, supportive and well‑organised leadership team. Now we’re looking for a dedicated, detail‑loving Board Secretary to help keep our governance running smoothly and ensure we meet all Charity Commission requirements.

Volunteer Board Secretary

As our Board Secretary, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our trustees and leadership team. You’ll help us stay organised, compliant and on track as we move through our start‑up and launch phase.

Your work will help ensure SUNSHINE Charity is built on strong, transparent and well‑managed foundations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Organising and coordinating board meetings

• Taking clear, accurate minutes and notes

• Keeping all official charity records up to date

• Supporting the board with governance tasks and documentation

• Ensuring we meet Charity Commission legal and reporting requirements

• Helping us build a charity that is well‑run, accountable and ready to grow

You don’t need to be a governance expert — just someone who is organised, dependable and happy to support a team with structure and clarity.

Who You Are

Someone who:

• Is organised, reliable and enjoys keeping things running smoothly

• Has good attention to detail and strong communication skills

• Wants to support a start‑up charity at a crucial stage of its journey

• Understands (or is willing to learn about) charity governance

• Can give a little time each month to help us get launch‑ready

• Believes in our mission to reduce loneliness and build community
