VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR (VOLUNTEER ROLE)

Help bring sunshine, connection, and community to people who need it most.

Are you friendly, organised, and passionate about making a positive difference?

We are looking for a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to help support and inspire our volunteer team as we grow a small, grassroots charity focused on reducing loneliness, strengthening community connection, and bringing joy to people’s lives.

Our charity is built on warmth, kindness, and human connection. We believe that small acts of care can have a big impact, and we are looking for someone who shares that belief to help coordinate the brilliant volunteers who make our work possible.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a key part in helping our charity run smoothly. You will welcome new volunteers, support existing ones, help with communication and rota planning, and make sure volunteers feel valued, informed, and connected to our mission.

This is a volunteer role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, keeping things organised, and helping build a positive and supportive team culture.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit, welcome, and support volunteers.

  • Keep regular contact with volunteers and help them feel engaged and appreciated.

  • Help organise volunteer rotas and activity cover.

  • Coordinate volunteer inductions, briefings, and basic training.

  • Act as a friendly first point of contact for volunteer queries.

  • Work with trustees or project leads to match volunteers to activities and events.

  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive volunteer experience.

  • Keep simple records of volunteer information, availability, and involvement.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Friendly, approachable, and encouraging manner.

  • Good organisational and communication skills.

  • Confidence using email, phone, and basic digital tools.

  • Ability to work well with people from different backgrounds.

  • Reliability, discretion, and a positive attitude.

  • Commitment to kindness, inclusion, and community connection.

WHAT YOU'LL GET OUT OF IT

  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

  • Experience in volunteer management and community organisation.

  • A rewarding role in a new charity with a strong sense of purpose.

  • The opportunity to help shape something positive from the very beginning.

TIME COMMITMENT

This is a flexible volunteer role, with approx. 4 hours per week commitment. We are especially looking for someone who can help provide regular support and stay in touch with volunteers consistently.
