SUNSHINE Charity is looking for friendly, caring, and community-minded Volunteers to help us reduce loneliness and social isolation through positive human connection, uplifting activities, and meaningful community support.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you enjoy talking with people, helping at events, supporting activities, or simply offering a warm and welcoming presence, you can help bring comfort, joy, and belonging to people who may be feeling disconnected or alone.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a SUNSHINE Volunteer, you will help support our activities, events, and community-based interventions that bring people together in a positive and inclusive way. You may be welcoming participants, helping set up sessions, supporting refreshments, chatting with people, or offering practical help where needed.

This is a flexible role suited to people who want to give a little time to make a big difference.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Help welcome and support people attending SUNSHINE activities and events.

• Offer a friendly, warm, and inclusive presence.

• Assist with setting up, running, and tidying away sessions or events.

• Support practical tasks such as refreshments, materials, registration, or signposting.

• Help create a positive, safe, and welcoming atmosphere.

• Work alongside other volunteers, Activity Leads, and Project Leads.

• Encourage connection, conversation, and a sense of belonging.

• Represent SUNSHINE Charity in a kind, respectful, and community-focused way.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• A friendly, compassionate, and positive attitude.

• A genuine interest in helping others and building community.

• Reliability and willingness to get involved.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• An understanding of the importance of kindness, respect, and inclusion.

• No previous experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.

TIME COMMITMENT
