About Us
The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton, dedicated to supporting, empowering, and advocating for women and children. We help women facing crisis or challenging circumstances by encouraging independence, confidence, and self-reliance.
One of our flagship services is the Wolverhampton Baby Bank, which supports families with children aged 0–3 by providing essential items such as nappies, clothing, bedding, toys, and other baby necessities, along with access to community support services.
Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Baby Bank Manager (Volunteer) to oversee the daily operations of the Baby Bank onsite. This role is central to ensuring smooth service delivery, excellent client support, and effective coordination of staff and volunteers.
You will be the key point of contact for families accessing the Baby Bank and will help ensure all services are delivered efficiently, respectfully, and in line with safeguarding and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Baby Bank onsite
- Serve as the main point of contact for families and visitors
- Handle incoming phone calls, emails, and general inquiries professionally
- Conduct initial client intake and gather required information
- Schedule appointments and coordinate service delivery
- Maintain accurate records of clients, referrals, and appointments
- Support and supervise volunteers working within the Baby Bank
- Ensure smooth coordination between staff, volunteers, and partner organisations
- Maintain secure filing systems (digital and physical)
- Monitor stock levels and report supply needs
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection policies
- Escalate urgent or sensitive cases to senior management
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in administration, customer service, or office coordination (preferred not essential)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
- Compassionate, respectful, and client-focused approach
- Confident handling phone and email communications
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets)
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Commitment of minimum 12 hours per week onsite
Volunteer Requirements
- Must attend onsite shifts consistently
- Complete induction before starting
- Participate in a 6-week review for ongoing placement
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Follow safeguarding and organisational procedures
- Communicate availability clearly and in advance when possible
