Kids in Museums is looking for people who are passionate about improving access to culture for children, young people and families to join our Board of Trustees.

As a Trustee, you can help shape our mission to change the museum and heritage sector to make it better for all children, young people and families, particularly those who currently have the least access. You’ll be joining a dedicated Board that brings a wide range of skills and experiences to the charity and have the chance to become involved with exciting Kids in Museums programmes such as the Family Friendly Museum Award and Takeover Day.

Our Trustees have the opportunity to

• Learn new transferable skills such as strategic planning and risk management. 
• Join new professional networks in the museum sector and beyond.
• Give something back by improving access to the museum and heritage sector.

All Trustees receive a free package of training and support to help them settle into their roles. All expenses are covered by Kids in Museums. 

We are also looking for candidates who have:

• An interest in Kids in Museums’ mission to improve access to museums and heritage for families, children and young people.
• An analytical approach to decision-making.
• An ability to communicate clearly and engage with a range of different stakeholders, staff and volunteers.
• A set of skills to enable them to handle challenging situations. This could include offering advice under time pressure if the charity was facing a reputational challenge. Alternatively, it could be providing support and advice on a staff disciplinary process.
• An ability to give feedback to staff, volunteers and other Trustees kindly and constructively.
• A strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• A willingness to participate in the charity’s income generation work. This could include representing Kids in Museums at networking events, making introductions to potential supporters or reviewing funding applications.

QMC Capoeira School is looking for a Volunteer Sound Engineer who would love to support a community organisation undertake an international martial arts tournament and Brazilian Cultural Festival Project related work to start ASAP and finish mid – late November.

QMC Capoeira is a martial arts school based in London that has been running since 2006, has academy in Canada and the Dominican Republic and is the most awarded Capoeira School in the UK.

The objective of the role is to:

· Assist with audio set-up for commentary station

· Mix levels both on the audio mixer and ATEM Mini so as to get the best broadcast sound possible both from commentary microphones and venue mics

· Advise on best practices to get the best possible audio for the broadcast

The ideal candidate will work in our Kingston office setting up microphones, doing sound checks and audio mixing before livestreams and monitoring and adjusting audio during livestreams.

Essential Skills and Experience:

· Experience with USB microphones

· Experience with multimic setup

· Experience with audio mixing and audio mixing software 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

· Previous broadcast, live streaming, or podcast recording experience

· Monitor cameras during the livestream

· Manage cables and wires and areas around cameras to maintain good health and safety

The Studio Camera Assistant will play a critical role in helping to further develop the public profile of our organisation.

The ideal candidate will work in our Kingston office setting up and monitoring the cameras and lighting in the Studio during livestreams.

Essential Skills and Experience:

· Experience with DSLR/Mirrorless cameras

· Experience with professional camcorders (e.g. Sony NX100 or similar) 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

· Previous broadcast or live streaming experience

· Previous experience with multicam setup

· Experience with stabiliser rigs

· Experience and knowledge of good lighting setup, arrangements, and techniques, such as 3 point lighting, and the use of diffusers

· Experience of use of HDMI, SDI, and Cat6 cables, extensions, and adapters

• Work on highlights videos from events, workshops, and classes, promo videos, mini-documentaries, and micro shorts.
• Videos will be about Capoeira, martial arts, sports, and fitness, and an interest in any or all of these things is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience in creating videos for social media, particularly for Instagram and TikTok, are also desirable.

This role is fully remote.

 Skills and attributes:

· Demonstrate experience with Adobe Premier

· Demonstrate some experience with Final Cut (not essential, but an advantage)

· Demonstrate some video production experience 

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

· Focused, organized and able to prioritize and execute tasks independently

The administrative assistant will be assisting in general administrative support. They will have a close dialogue with key stakeholders, funders and donors to create relationships to help the organisation move forward.

The requirements for the job is basic office and communicating skills.

The administrative assistant should be keen on learning and developing new skills within the Organisation.

There will be opportunities to develop skills within several different units of the organisation such as; Marketing, Funding, Finance, HR and Legal.

The position will give the volunteer the opportunity to get insight into these different units, and the choice to develop oneself within the one (or several) that becomes of most interest, while at the same time getting versatile, transferable skills that can be applied throughout the organisation.

We are looking for an experienced librarian with a passion for books, archives and audio-visual resources.

We are looking for a person with excellent administrative skills to ensure that the library becomes accessible by developing, organising, and updating library records both manually and digitally.

Endurance and patience is also a must, as you’ll often handle multiple duties at the same time, for instance, showing people how to use the resources database or updating the information system.

• Oversee the library to ensure cleanliness, order, and protection of the library’s resources

• Help patrons research reading materials and references
• Research and implement new information system techniques

We have a large collection of books in our unique library, much of it donated by members of the community.

We are looking for a responsible someone with the knowledge, skills and experience to repair/restore some old/damaged books, including reattach pages (Hard and soft cover books)

The work can be done in our premises or from home.

We are recruiting a qualified accountant to our Board of Trustees and to join our Finance, HR and Risk Sub-Committee with a view to Chairing this group in time.

In addition to wider trustee responsibilities you will provide particular governance oversight of Frantic Assembly’s finances.

Key Trustee Responsibilities

• Contributing actively to execution of the Board’s responsibility to give strategic direction to the Charity, through business planning and by establishing a clear mission, values and objectives;
• Playing a full and active part in Board meetings (four meetings per annum and otherwise as required);
• Keeping up-to-date with the Charity’s activities, ensuring that they are in line with its aims and objectives, and that they are for the public benefit;
• Attending Frantic Assembly productions and events, and where possible, introducing other people to Frantic Assembly through those activities;
• Being an ambassador and advocate for Frantic Assembly, promoting and championing our work, ambition, vision and objectives to stakeholders, and relevant organisations whenever possible throughout the year;
• Participating in formulating fundraising strategy and participating where appropriate in fundraising activities. Trustees are themselves encouraged to donate to the charity from time-to-time at a level appropriate to their personal resources;
• Introducing contacts to the Charity for the purpose of the provision of funding or advice;
• Ensuring the Charity complies with company and charity law and the requirements of The Charity Commission.

Key Financial Oversight Responsibilities

• Chairing Frantic Assembly’s Finance, HR and Risk Sub-Committee (up to five meetings per annum and otherwise as required);
• Ensuring the adequacy of risk management, internal controls and governance arrangements;
• Oversight of annual budgets and financial reports - working alongside CEO and external auditors as necessary;
• Governance of financial management and reporting including cashflow and financial planning;
• Providing a short annual report to the Board, summarising the Sub- Committee’s conclusions from work undertaken during the year

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Qualified accountant or similar qualification:
• An interest in the work and values of Frantic Assembly and a proactive commitment and enthusiasm to shaping and advising on the future of Frantic Assembly;
• Understanding of financial administration in the charity sector ;
• Understanding of the management of charity resources, including internal financial controls, charity reserves and restricted funding;
• An understanding and acceptance of legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship and the roles of boards;
