We have 250 local groups which play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS across the UK. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Wigtownshire group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. In this role you’ll be able to develop your leadership, management, communication, organisation and motivation skills. 

Time Commitment

They act as the first point of contact and they make sure all relevant information is circulated to other volunteers and members. And they play an important role in keeping our data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. Most importantly you’ll be help your local group run efficiently, so they can keep providing valuable services to our MS community.

Become a champion for those unable to live with their birth parents – become a trustee   

We are looking for an exceptional person to join Adoption UK’s Board of Trustees.  We are looking for someone based in Northern Ireland with financial experience.

Adoption UK is the leading charity providing support, community, and advocacy for those who are unable live with their birth parents. Our purpose is to secure the right support at the right time for children and young people who are unable to live with their birth parents, from childhood into adulthood.   

As a UK wide charity, we aim to have representation on our Board from all constituent nations, and across a variety of backgrounds and lived experience. At this time, we are particularly looking to appoint someone from Northern Ireland with financial expertise. Lived experience would be desirable, but not essential. 

As a Trustee, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your unique skills and experience within our welcoming and dedicated Board. You will be expected to:    

• Oversee the implementation of Adoption UK’s strategy.   

• Support the senior leadership team, adding value and expert advice.   

• Facilitate change that promotes the care and welfare of those unable to live with their birth parents, and their families.    

• Ensure the charity remains true to its purpose and adheres to its regulatory responsibilities.   

The Board of trustees meets four times a year – these meetings are a mix of virtual and in-person meetings. The annual time commitment is 5 days, plus preparation and reading time, with opportunities for deeper involvement in relevant areas of the charity’s work. You will be invited to Adoption UK events. The role is not remunerated but travel and expenses are paid.

We are looking to recruit a Finance Volunteer for our Orkney Group. As a Finance Volunteer, you would be joining a coordinating team of volunteers to plan and deliver services and activities to support people locally.

You will maintain and approve income and expenditure records and explain financial information clearly to other group members. You would ensure our financial requirements and policies are followed, and that money is spent in a cost effective manner.

Be part of something special and volunteer at MS Walk Glasgow. Join an incredible team of volunteers who will be helping to make MS Walk 2025 bigger and better than ever.

The 2025 event will have around 350 participants who will be walking through Glasgow on either the 1km, 5km,10km or 20km route.

Together these participants will be hoping to raise over £40,000 for the MS Society to help support the MS Community.

There are various roles available on the day from making some noise and encouraging our walkers, to looking after the route and handing out medals at the finish.

Join our team of MS Walk volunteers and support everyone who is walking, rolling and strolling to stop MS.

You'll be required on Saturday 13th September 2025 for one day and there are various times throughout the day. Shifts will be from 2-5 hours depending on role and location.

There are no specific skills required just enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.’

Over past decades, enormous advances have been made in our understanding of MS. Research has got us to a critical point, and we can see a future where nobody needs to worry about their MS getting worse. Our Stop MS Appeal needs to raise £100 million to find treatments for everyone with MS.

Our Stop MS Champions help us reach more people and inspire them to get involved in our Stop MS Appeal by encouraging raising funds and awareness by delivering presentations, attending events and identifying new audiences to speak to. They inspire people to engage with and influence fundraisers and groups, enthuse people and make sure our community’s voice is heard.

As our Lead Stop MS Champion, you’ll motivate your team of Stop MS Champions to help reach more people and inspire them to get involved in our Stop MS Appeal.

By using your ability to motivate and support, you will oversee and lead a team of 5-10 Stop MS Champion volunteers, encouraging them to engage the people they know to raise funds and awareness, and provide reliable information and guidance.

You’ll also network to engage with and influence fundraisers and community groups, enthusing people by delivering presentations at events and finding new audiences to speak to.
