The Work Rights Centre, in partnership with the LEF Fellowship Programme, is looking for a Trainee Solicitor to join our ambitious and driven team. We are a charity set up by migrants and for migrants, and every day our multilingual team of legal advisers stand up for their employment rights and secure their immigration status.
This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with a strong sense of justice, who is looking to build a career in a legal profession. This role will suit someone who values impact, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable migrant workers and disadvantaged Britons.
You will be able to learn from three experienced solicitors, exercise your skills as an adviser, and progress your career in a friendly and supportive environment. The LEF Fellowship Programme will cover the cost of your mandatory legal training and exams. By the end of two years you will have had the chance to complete your SQE training and gain the required practical experience to fully qualify as a solicitor.
The role
As the Trainee Solicitor, you’ll work on a stimulating range of issues across two wide areas of law - Immigration (in Year 1) and Employment (in Year 2). You will learn how best to support vulnerable clients with limited English language and digital skills, how to spot signs of modern slavery or manage safeguarding concerns.
Working with our immigration team, you will help clients understand and secure their immigration status in the UK. You will support clients who have limited leave to remain (e.g. on employer-sponsored visas, Ukraine Visa Schemes, or pre-settled EUSS status) or who are entirely undocumented. Working with our employment team, you will work on cases involving non-payment of wages, non-provision of work, unlawful deductions, race and gender discrimination, or unfair dismissals. Crucially, you will have the opportunity to understand the real-life intersection of the two areas of law, as they are often experienced by the same clients.
This is a brilliant opportunity to gain well-rounded experience across all stages of the legal process, including interviewing clients, collecting information and assessing evidence, taking down witness statements, providing over the phone and written advice, and collating evidence bundles.
Alongside your legal work and SQE2 study, you will complete an independent social justice project aligned with your personal interests and objectives of the charity. This might entail legal research, sourcing strategic cases, or compiling data on the impact of the current policies. Working on this project will give you an opportunity to conduct strategic legal work contributing to systemic change.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Role purpose
The main purposes of this role are:

New business development

 - Maintaining an up-to-date market awareness of grant-making trends and best practice in T&F fundraising

Relationships
- Managing relationships with Statutory sources and T&F funding Tender, building a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of each funder
 - Developing and executing stewardship and relationship management plans for T&F to maximise the value and duration of their support for Tender
 - Overseeing the production of high-quality monitoring reports for T&F, and using insights from funded programmes to develop case for support materials

 - Line managing two Development Officers
 
Administration
- Working with the Governance team to improve operational effectiveness and quality service by identifying and implementing process improvements
 - Contributing to the maintenance of Tender’s overall Development function, providing appropriate analysis and reports
 - Developing and maintaining a funding database and ensuring it is up to date to effectively monitor and evaluate the strategy
 - Completing all mandatory training, and proactively seek opportunities for ongoing professional development
 - Ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed, including safeguarding, data protection and equal opportunities

This is a pivotal role, leading the development and delivery of a sustainable fundraising strategy that supports our mission to help people love later life.

The role will focus on growing the value of funding from large trusts and foundations globally, as well as from corporate foundations and institutional funders via consortium partnerships with larger conservation actors.
The role will oversee grant and contract management with existing organisational and institutional partnerships, as well as grow this portfolio through developing a robust pipeline of new opportunities, finding creative ways to secure visibility and first meetings, developing relationships, compelling funding applications and ensuring strong contract management oversight.
The role will lead a team of two, work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues based in the US and UK to secure visibility with and develop strong long-term partnerships with new Trusts and Foundations; and work closely with colleagues in Kenya to ensure strong project delivery and grant management. - Lead the implementation of the Trusts & Foundations (T&Fs) programme with a particular focus on growing the portfolio of large T&Fs in the USA, UK and European markets;
 - Work with fundraising colleagues across priority markets and with communications colleagues, using innovative and proactive approaches to business development and relationship building to unlock visibility opportunities and develop relationships with new prospects; in order to develop and maintain a strong pipeline of high-value funding opportunities.

As UWUK is a small organisation, the ideal successful candidate may also have fundraising experience although this is not essential.
The UWUK team are passionate about their mission and delivering results and have a caring, trusting, collaborative and close-knit culture, based on shared values and respect. This role is home-based, but you will be able to travel regularly across the UK, at least 2-3 times a month and be willing and able to easily attend meetings in London on a regular basis. Travel is covered but you will need to be able to be based with easy access to a major transport hub.

About the role:
Legacies and in-memory giving play a vital role in ensuring lasting change for communities around the world. The Senior Legacy and In-Memory Marketing Executive will help deepen our supporters’ connection to our mission — inspiring them to create a legacy of hope and opportunity for future generations.
Reporting to the Supporter Development and Legacies Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of the legacy strategy, delivering thoughtful, inspiring campaigns that celebrate the impact of legacy and in-memory giving. You’ll combine creative storytelling with data-driven insight to nurture meaningful supporter journeys, ensuring everyone who chooses to remember us — in their will or in tribute to a loved one feels valued, respected, and part of something truly transformative.
About You:
ESSENTIAL
• Proven skills and aptitudes to complete complicated procedures
• Demonstrable analytical skills and highly numerate with experience of keeping and monitoring financial & budgeting reports.
• Proven experience and knowledge of legacy giving, including channels for direct marketing to drive legacy giving.
• Experience of using a fundraising database for effective analysis of direct marketing campaigns and trend giving patterns
• Strong understanding of donor stewardship and the motivations behind legacy and in-memory giving.
• Experience of working with external suppliers to deliver successful direct marketing campaigns
