We’re seeking a Finance Manager to lead robust financial reporting and governance across 80 parish sites, while supporting central operations from our Crawley base.
In this key role, you’ll produce timely and accurate management accounts, oversee cloud-based reporting, and lead on the preparation of annual statutory accounts. You’ll be the primary contact for external auditors and play a central part in reporting to our Trustees and Diocesan Finance Committee.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Programme Development Manager represents an evolution from our Programme Manager role, focusing on shaping the future direction of The Avenues Youth Project's programmes whilst maintaining oversight of current delivery. This isn't just about managing what we do now, it's about looking ahead and designing what comes next.
Working closely with the Programme Director, you will be responsible for researching innovative approaches to youth work, developing funding proposals, and creating programmes that respond to the changing needs of young people aged 8-19. We need someone who can think creatively about engagement whilst keeping an eye on emerging trends and opportunities in the sector.

Background
The Minster Centre is a registered charity based in Queens Park, London NW6 that trains psychotherapists and counsellors and provides an accessible therapy service. As an accredited higher education organisation, we provide in-person and online courses throughout the week and weekend. The Minster Centre provides a psychotherapy and counselling service to the local community and has a number of rooms that are hired out for therapy, training, and events.
The Reception Manager is a critical and central role at The Minster Centre, providing a welcoming service to students, room hirers, therapy clients and staff members that is efficient and aligned with The Minster Centre’s Ethos. As part of this role, you will provide first-line support to tutors and students as well as undertake administrative duties crucial to the running of the Centre. You will also provide support to other staff members where appropriate.
Job summary
The ideal candidate will have previous administration and front of house experience to help ensure that all building users (students, room hirers and clients) are welcomed, that the building is available and set up for training and therapy services, and that the building is closed and secured at the end of the day. Furthermore, they would be organised, have excellent IT skills and knowledge and, ideally, practice of using Zoom. They will have the ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure. In addition, they will be able to work autonomously on various tasks and work well in a team. This is a great opportunity for someone with relevant transferable skills to develop those skills further.
Duties and responsibilities
Oversee and manage the Reception Team
- Ensure Reception is always covered by organising a reception rota that covers absence, holidays, etc.
General management of Reception
- Receive and welcome visitors.
- Co-ordinate access to the building, opening and closing of the building.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Order stationary and other supplies as requested.
- Manage petty cash.
- Keep the reception area tidy.
- Ensure there are adequate supplies of daily refreshments and organise catering for specific events.
Event and training support
- Set up for events and assist with special or evening events when requested.
- Organise and keep track of First Aid and Fire Marshal trainings.
Administration
- Manage the room booking system, including the processing of invoice figures in communication with Finance Assistant/Credit Controller.
- Deal with room booking enquiries and bookings for events.
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming telephone calls, and provide basic information when needed.
- Undertake data entry tasks, or similar, in quiet periods.
- Deal with customer queries or complaints politely and positively.
Facilities
- Work with the Facilities and Membership Manager to source and organise suppliers to meet the various facility needs of the building.
- Ensure that the building has adequate cleaning by working with the Facilities and Membership Manager in communication with Total Clean.
- Conduct daily spot checks of the building and report any significant problems to Facilities and Membership Manager.
- Undertake small repairs of damaged equipment or fixings.
IT support
- Field/triage general IT Support emails with the IT Team.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues on site.
- Support tutors and office staff with basic Office apps, Moodle, Zoom queries (support and training can be provided).
- Provide IT support for tutors facilitating Zoom teaching sessions including troubleshooting.
- Manage tutor Zoom accounts.
- Schedule Zoom sessions.
Student support and progression
- Ensure that students are enrolled on courses and set up on systems accurately.
- Manage the re-enrolment process between academic years.
- Oversee the recording of student progression.
- Liaise with and support the Operations Team in organising the annual Graduation event and ensuring all eligible students receive timely information.

The role is responsible for delivering full housing management services across a portfolio of 50–100 supported accommodation units, with a focus on tenancy sustainment, legal compliance, and strong financial performance. This includes facilitating onboarding and exit processes for service users, promoting tenancy expectations early on, and embedding a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIPE) approach. Accurate and GDPR-compliant tenancy records must be maintained, with regular monitoring and reporting on tenancy issues through internal dashboards and quarterly reviews.
The position also involves driving rent and service charge collection, preventing arrears through proactive engagement, and taking recovery action where needed. The postholder will provide specialist advice on housing benefits, manage claims and appeals, and oversee invoicing and reconciliation with external agencies. Additionally, they will ensure timely repair reporting and resolution, maintain communication with residents and staff on maintenance progress, and uphold property standards to meet compliance requirements.

Overview / Purpose
The Research Events Coordinator plays a central role in the organisation's mission to build a world-leading Research Centre. This department coordinates, generates, and champions research activity across the organisation. The Research Events Coordinator contributes the Department's central mission to advance knowledge through the conception, creation, delivery, and dissemination of the highest quality research events aimed at the widest possible public and specialist audiences, undertaken through many diverse channels and through the organisation's local, national, and international research projects and partnerships.
The role holder provides efficient and effective administration and coordination of the organisation's annual programme of research events, organised by the Research Department in collaboration with research-active staff from across the institution. In coordination with other Research Department staff, in particular the Research Centre Manager, you are responsible for the overall planning, delivery, and archiving of all research events, both in-person and hybrid. This includes (but is not limited to): research seminars, exhibition colloquia, scholarly workshops, academic conferences, annual lectures, and other internal research events. You will also support the Centre's front-of-house duties and will provide administrative support for further research activity as deemed appropriate or suitable by the Head of Research.
Key Responsibility
Support the Research Centre Manager, Senior Research Lead, and Head of Research in:
Events Administration
- Attend meetings, take and circulate notes on event planning and preparation.
- Assist the Research Centre Manager, Senior Research Lead, Head of Research, and all other event-hosting staff with: coordinating Calls for Papers; liaising with speakers and collaborators; providing administration for all aspects of events planning.
- Book travel and accommodation for external speakers (and VIP attendees); attend any related invoices and ensure prompt payment of the same.
- Book venues and prepare rooms for conferences, seminars, and all other Research Centre events, e.g. arrange furniture, set up refreshments.
- Arrange, as necessary, all IT and AV support for events, including speaker and participant digital access for online events, facilitating practice sessions, and any livestreams and recording of events.
- Work at evening events (outside office hours) at the organisation or events hosted at external locations, as required (agreed in advance).
- Provide technical support at digital events, including setting up hybrid planning meetings between internal and external colleagues.

- Maintain the contacts/networks database as it relates to event attendees, speakers etc.
Communications and Advertising:
- Produce event copy, as required, for the website, e-newsletter for research networks, etc.
- Liaise with the Digital Team over online event pages on the website and over the booking system; monitor event bookings.
- Ensure that the web information about the Research Centre remains current; liaise with the Digital Team about web content.
- Maintain and develop the email list of subscribers to events mailings and to the newsletter.
- Co-ordinate the regular research email newsletter; liaise with content providers for the newsletter; produce event copy, as required, for e-newsletters for research networks, etc.
- Work with Digital and Creative Teams to create event templates for invitations that match the brand, the research theme and audience of the given event.
- Work to promote upcoming research events using internal and external advertising platforms, as appropriate.
Research Centre Administration:
- Provide front-of-house support to the Research Centre, as necessary.
- Attend and take and circulate notes, as required, at relevant committees/working groups for research.
- Work with Senior Research Lead and Research Centre Manager to carry out administration related to research projects, including assisting with budgets, processing invoices, securing image rights, publishing web content, liaising with external collaborators and visiting fellows, booking travel and accommodation and providing administration for all research project activities.
Key Required Skills
- Substantial experience of event management to coordinate projects and events, ideally within a large, multipart organisation.
- Ability to develop and manage detailed project timelines and workflows.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail (e.g. creating travel itineraries; making bookings; taking minutes of meetings; maintaining calendars and room booking systems).
- Proven track record in numeracy and financial data-handling experience; experience maintaining and managing information on a relational database.
