The Role
The Head of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and delivering communications and marketing strategies relating to the various strands of the organisation. Leading a function with the two Digital Communications Officers to develop and deliver messaging and creative content, using multiple channels, which engages and mobilises the various audiences.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Role
This is a busy role managing multiple areas of work:
- Developing and delivering the hospice’s integrated communications strategy.
- Providing marketing support for fundraising and hospice service promotion activities.
- Managing the supporter database and administration support for the income generation team.
The majority of your time will be spent sourcing news and stories from the hospice and transforming them into engaging content, planning and managing print production, liaising with the media and developing digital communications. MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF JOB
The Fundraising Manager will play a key role in the delivery of our new fundraising strategy by maximising income predominantly from individuals, community, events and corporate fundraising. You will lead on the growth of a donor acquisition and retention programme, helping us to attract new, committed supporters and will be responsible for the delivery of specific agreed fundraising targets. You will also be responsible for supporter stewardship and ensuring excellence in our donor care, in order to increase our number of loyal, committed givers who share our passion for making a difference to the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers.
We are working to a new 3-year fundraising strategy with a focus on income diversification. We are also in the process of developing a new strategic plan and direction for the organisation. Young Roots has grown significantly over the last three years and our income has almost trebled. The majority of our income comes from Trusts, Foundations and other grants. The Fundraising Manager will focus on diversifying our funding, in particular through growing our levels of individual giving; building links with our local communities in Croydon, Brent and beyond to improve community and events fundraising; and developing relationships with corporate partners.

For many, CHD represents a lifelong health issue for which there is no cure. Job Purpose: To have a clear understanding of the charity’s ethos and vision, enabling it to develop and expand. Main duties:

- Develop charity’s volunteer base and support volunteer activities. Maximise the potential of the ACHD Ambassadors.

Oakhaven Hospice is seeking a Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications to lead the charity’s income, marketing, communications and retail operations.
Oakhaven has a long history of providing specialist palliative care and support to those facing life-limiting illness and their loved ones in both a home and hospice setting for the community of the New Forest, Totton and Waterside area; a catchment area of around 140,000 residents. The hospice is recognised as an expert in its field for providing care to those with the most complex of end of life requirements, ensuring that they help people when and where they need it most.
The role of Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications will be responsible for producing and delivering fundraising, marketing and PR strategies to ensure income and promotion for the hospice. You will also be responsible for identifying new income generation strategies including both traditional fundraising streams but also possible social enterprise income generation opportunities.
As well as being the public face of the organisation in all fundraising related matters, as a member of the senior management team you will contribute to the development of organisational strategy and develop annual fundraising plans that link with budgetary and financial planning.
The charity is seeking an effective team player and leader with senior fundraising, marketing and communication-based experience, as well as with a proven track record in income generation. You will also have experience of formulating marketing and fundraising strategy, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be adept in motivating and empowering your teams. Finally, you must be committed to the work carried out by our hospice.
