The Executive Officer to CEO (Maternity Cover) leads the effective running of the CEO’s office, providing strategic project management, coordination of leadership priorities, and hands-on delivery across strategy development, planning and governance.

This is a pivotal role within War Child, sitting at the heart of the organisation’s leadership and governance. Working closely with the CEO, Leadership Group, Chair and Board of Trustees, the Executive Officer to CEO plays a key role in enabling effective decision-making, organisational oversight and delivery of War Child’s ambitions for children.

Reporting to the CEO and acting as a trusted representative of their office, you will be an energetic, highly organised self-starter with the judgement and confidence to balance strategic coordination with high-quality executive support. The role combines project leadership, organisational planning and culture-focused initiatives with hands-on executive assistance.

As Company Secretary, you will also support excellence in governance by ensuring War Child meets its statutory and regulatory obligations, including compliance and reporting to the Charity Commission, Companies House and the Fundraising Regulator.

This is a hybrid role, with two days per week expected in the London office and up to three days per week working remotely. Occasional additional office attendance may be required to support meetings or key organisational activity.

This role is offered as a 12-month maternity cover contract, ideally starting in late-May 2026.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in helping Crisis secure the income needed to end homelessness. As our Individual Giving Officer, you will join an energetic team and play a pivotal role in leading the marketing, delivery, development, and stewardship of NHYC's Individual Giving programme. We are a National Portfolio Organisation, funded by Arts Council England, and enjoy the support of many individuals, trust and foundations and corporate supporters. We are now looking for an ambitious, creative, and energetic fundraiser to help take us into our next chapter. You might be an experienced Development leader or someone looking to take that next step, or perhaps this could be a lateral move from another related sector. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering fundraising activity, supporting income generation through campaigns, events, partnerships and donor stewardship. Strategic Leadership 

• Develop and deliver a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organisational priorities

Fundraising Campaigns & Income Generation

Events & Community Fundraising

• Plan, promote and deliver fundraising events including donor evenings and follow up donor cultivation, community fundraising activities and donor profile events

Trusts, Memberships & Partnerships

• Research, write and submit applications to small, mid-scale and large trusts and foundations aligned with The Belgrade’s artistic, co-creation, educational and community activity to ensure we meet our target of 10% of turnover against fundraising activity 
• Review and refresh The Belgrade’s s membership schemes, sponsorship offers and local business fundraising opportunities.
• Develop proposals to support income from individuals, trusts and community partners.
• Establish and Develop a Legacy programme with the associated campaign 

Donor Stewardship & Supporter Care

• Support and steward donors, members and supporters through appropriate communication, recognition and reporting.
• Ensure donor recognition is accurate and visible across digital, print and in-venue materials.
• Experience of managing a varied pipeline of fundraising prospects, including identification of key internal and external milestones

Digital Fundraising & Communications

• Work with the Marketing team to create fundraising content for email, web and social media.

• Maintain accurate donor records.

We are looking for an Interim Head of Events to manage our existing events portfolio as maternity cover. You will be responsible for managing a range of well-established, high profile events including our flagship Annual Dinner which raises over £1.6M and is critical to our donor engagement, retention and income. You will ensure all our events run successfully, are organised to the highest standards and delivered with immaculate care and precision. You will manage a small team of two, providing guidance and support where needed. You will also work closely with our Marketing and Communications team to develop content and marketing for events.

You will join our Fundraising team, which is made up of 11 individuals working across a range of portfolios, including: trusts and foundations, institutional funding, major donor fundraising, individual giving and legacies, online matched funding campaigns, events, donor acquisition and engagement.   

You should have:

• Significant experience and a proven track record of event planning, coordination and delivery to an exceptionally high standard, within the non-profit sector.
• Experience of managing a small team
• Experience of managing budgets
• Experience working alongside Chairs, Trustees and/or Event Committees
• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Ability to multitask, managing numerous priorities at the same time, to tight deadlines
• The ability to use your own initiative and to work under pressure. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues at all levels and with senior volunteers

About the Role

This is a brand-new role for an experienced senior leader and income generation specialist to join the team at Wells Maltings and lead on developing and delivering our fundraising, commercial and operations strategies. About you

We are looking for a leader with a strong understanding of income generation in the arts and culture sector, preferably with experience of running a venue.

What is the role

Victim Support Scotland (VSS) is seeking an inspirational and strategic leader to join our Corporate Leadership Team as Head of Income Generation & Development. We want to ensure that no one affected by crime is left without help, regardless of how or where they seek support and this is a pivotal role at the heart of our mission to support people affected by crime across Scotland.

As the senior lead for income generation, fundraising, partnerships and associated external development, you will drive the successful delivery and continued evolution of VSS’s Income Generation Strategy, ensuring it aligns with our organisational ambitions for 2026–2031. With a clear focus on long-term sustainability, you will maximise opportunities to secure funding that strengthens and expands our impact.

You will build and maintain a diverse and resilient portfolio of income streams, including grants, partnerships, commissioned services, tenders, corporate giving and community fundraising to  ensure stability and growth. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Board and external partners, you will identify and pursue strategic development opportunities that advance VSS’s mission.

Alongside income generation, you will provide leadership on income-related brand and marketing activity that enhances our visibility and supports strategic partnership development. You will also ensure excellence in grant management, compliance and funder reporting across the organisation.

What you’ll need to be successful

We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level or above, has evidence of continuing professional development, proven project management skills and a track record of successful tendering and procurement practices.  You will have the ability to develop effective internal and external relationships and networks and be a skilled communicator. Someone who has a good working knowledge of the voluntary/charity sector is required, as is a willingness to be flexible in working hours. This post is based in Glasgow or Edinburgh with the ability to travel across VSS bases and spaces a requirement.
