Job description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Communications Officer to help raise the profile of International Health Partners and showcase the life-changing impact of our work around the world. Working closely with colleagues, partners and stakeholders, you will lead the development of compelling communications, build strong partnership stories and support the growth of an organisation dedicated to improving access to essential medicines for vulnerable communities.

IHP’s vision is to see a world in which all suffering due to lack of healthcare is eradicated. Our Christian faith underpins all that we do. It motivates us to care for those in need, and give our best in all circumstances, as an expression of God's love. We serve the poor in health without regard for ethnic or religious background, focusing on where the need is greatest.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional who thrives on storytelling, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications. You'll collaborate across IHP to identify and develop powerful stories, create engaging content across multiple channels and lead communications activity that supports organisational priorities and partnership growth.

From developing partnership campaigns and impact stories to creating digital content and communications materials, you will help increase awareness of IHP's work, demonstrate the value of our partnerships and support our mission of improving access to essential medicines worldwide.

For further details regarding responsibilities and person specification, please see the job description.

About you

We're looking for someone who combines excellent communications expertise with creativity, initiative and strong relationship-building skills.

You will have:

✅ Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills
✅ Experience developing communications for different audiences and channels
✅ Strong project management and organisational skills
✅ The ability to influence and advise stakeholders with confidence
✅ A keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality content
✅ A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
✅ Experience evaluating communications activity and using insight to improve performance

Experience working within a charity, not-for-profit or purpose driven-organisation is desirable.

Why join IHP?

This is an opportunity to use your skills and expertise to make a genuine difference. You will join a passionate and collaborative team committed to ensuring more people can access the medicines they need, regardless of circumstance.

Our Christian faith inspires our mission and values, and we are committed to demonstrating compassion, integrity and excellence in everything we do. Staff regularly spend time together in prayer and, as such, there is an occupational requirement for the successful candidate to have a personal commitment to the Christian faith.

We value our people and offer a supportive and flexible working environment, alongside a range of benefits including:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time hours)
  • Health and wellbeing support through Unum help@hand
  • Life Insurance and Critical Illness Cover
  • Hybrid and flexible working options in a modern office near Chancery Lane Tube Station

IHP is an Equal Opportunities Employer and is committed to working and embedding diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our work, including recruitment and selection. We actively encourage applicants to inform us of any specific support or reasonable adjustments we can make in the recruitment process (eg for disability or neurodivergence) and will continue this conversation into employment, as appropriate.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Join a supportive and inclusive team where your skills are valued, your voice is heard, and you have the space to work independently and develop.
