About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Officer to play a key role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of Gorse Hill Studios. This is a varied and rewarding position, supporting day-to-day financial operations such as payroll, accounts, budgeting, and reporting, as well as contributing to funding applications and strategic planning.

You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to maintain accurate financial systems, prepare reports for the Board, and support funding compliance across all areas of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage financial systems using QuickBooks.
• Prepare monthly payroll, timesheets, and submissions to HMRC and pension providers.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly management accounts and balance sheets.
• Process all income and expenditure, ensuring correct allocation to restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Assist with annual accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Collaborate with the leadership team on budgets and forecasting.
• Provide financial data for funding proposals, tenders, and commissions.
• Manage purchasing and obtain quotes for services and resources.
• Process and record payments, banking, and petty cash transactions.
• Maintain and update inventory records.
• Support the continuous improvement of financial procedures and controls.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial documentation.

· Solicitor, barrister or equivalent qualified lawyer with substantial post-qualification experience

· In-depth legal expertise with an understanding of legal principles and practices, with evidence of continued professional development (CPD) commensurate with the requirements of the role.

Aurora New Dawn is a registered charity providing support and advocacy to survivors of domestic abuse, stalking and sexual violence.

The Children & Young Person’s Advocate will support children at risk of domestic abuse, including sexual violence and stalking within a domestic abuse context within the Thames Valley area. Children will be identified via their non-abusing parent who is already accessing support as a victim of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking from Aurora New Dawn. The support offered to the child will be parallel to the non-abusing parent’s support and offers the parent a safe space to speak confidentially to their advocate.

The Children & Young Person’s Advocate will take part in age appropriate activities via various communication channels with the child. We are seeking an experienced safeguarding professional to become the Independent Chair of the Diocesan Safeguarding Panel (DSP) in the Diocese. This is a pivotal, high-profile role, responsible for providing strategic leadership and independent scrutiny to the diocese’s safeguarding arrangements.

Position: Independent Chair of the Diocesan Safeguarding Panel

Salary: £500 per day (anticipated maximum of 10 – 15 days per year)

About the Role

The Diocese is seeking to appoint a new independent Chair to this important group, which oversees safeguarding policy, procedures, and practice across the Diocese. The Chair will lead a multi-agency panel that meets four times a year, with members also contributing to other time-limited safeguarding initiatives.

Working closely with the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser and senior diocesan leaders, the Chair will set the agenda for safeguarding accountability, oversee strategic risks, and offer advice that shapes diocesan safeguarding culture.

About You

You will bring extensive, current, or recent experience in safeguarding children, young people, and adults, ideally within a Church or wider faith-based context. You will have a strong track record of chairing complex, multi-agency safeguarding discussions or strategic forums, demonstrating sound judgment and the ability to navigate sensitive issues with authority and care.

Your deep commitment to the safety and well-being of children and vulnerable adults will be evident through your work. You will also be highly knowledgeable about safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice, with the ability to apply this effectively in both strategic oversight and advisory roles.

Strong communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to provide independent challenge and support within a governance setting.

You will be sympathetic to the values of the Christian faith but not hold any current formal role in the Diocese.

We’re looking for someone to work full time, 37.5 hours a week, to manage our Homlessness Prevention Service for people at risk of homelessness across Worcestershire; to manage the wider team of seniors, coordinators and support workers, and work in partnership with stakeholders to deliver on contractual KPIs. The service also delivers the SWEP Night Shelters across the six districts in Worcestershire.
 
You’ll have an opportunity to expand services that make a real difference in the lives of people who are currently homeless or at risk of losing tenancies.
 
You’ll ensure the service is set up to promote independence, provide high quality practical and emotional support, and to promote portable and sustainable outcomes.

The main duties of the role

• To assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS and Mentoring Programmes.
