Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Service Manager who will have the responsibility for local authority commissioned Advocacy and Independent Visitor services in Lancashire, Cumbria and West Yorkshire, as well as some independent services to other providers.

In this role you will be responsible for the management and support of staff delivering these services and you will also be expected to support new services in the surrounding areas. Other key responsibilities the Service Manager will hold includes:

  • Responsibility for the development, co-ordination and delivery of identified services according to the opportunities and service specification of the contracts commissioned in the region.

  • Convene, co-chair and participate in meetings in consultation with the operations manager/ director and to support and participate in training events and any promotional work of NYAS.

  • Liaise and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant agencies and stakeholders in accordance with the development strategy for the region

  • Identify opportunities for the growth of potential NYAS projects beyond that of local authority contracts.

  • Have responsibility for the development, co-ordination and delivery of identified services according to the opportunities and service specification of the contracts commissioned in the region.

You must have a professional qualification in social work or another relevant field and have substantial proven practice experience in delivering direct work to children, young people and vulnerable adults in a social care setting. You will also need to have experience in supervising staff and volunteer as well as experience and understanding of budgets.

Due to the geographical area of our services, we are looking for candidates who reside within Lancashire, Cumbria and West Yorkshire. This is a home based role but you will be expected to travel widely according to the demands of the post.
