The Cathedral has a particular responsibility to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults in the Cathedral community. It shares this responsibility with the Diocese of St Albans. This work is wide‑ranging, and the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) plays a central role in maintaining good safeguarding practice.
This part‑time role (15 hours per week) becomes vacant as the current postholder retires after four years, with time planned for handover with the person appointed to the role now. The CSO works with senior staff and the governing body to help lead policy development, training, reporting, and compliance with Church of England guidance. They report to the Canon for Mission and Pastoral Care and receive regular professional supervision from the National Safeguarding Team, with occasional networking with other CSOs.
Safeguarding is recognised as a shared leadership responsibility. The CSO meets weekly with senior clergy to review cases and will also work with the newly appointed non‑executive Safeguarding Lead on Chapter, the Cathedral’s governing body.
A core part of the role is promoting safeguarding awareness across the Cathedral community and understanding all activities involving children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The CSO provides professional advice on concerns raised, ensuring responses follow law and national policy, and works closely with diocesan and national safeguarding teams on complex cases. They also ensure appropriate support for survivors and proper management of those who pose risk.
About You
The Cathedral is seeking candidates with strong knowledge and professional experience in relation to safeguarding issues and proven experience working collaboratively in teams.
The post will require some flexibility in working patterns and will therefore require occasional weekend working and the ability to respond to urgent cases.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification and relevant experience and expertise in child and/or adult protection.

The Student Lifestyle & Behaviours Coordinator role is to supervise, develop and support staff to deliver the Community, Advice & Support departmental plan. Acting as a role model for the required standard of values, behaviour and performance, we expect Coordinators to help to create an inclusive and engaging environment for all.
The role is required to:
· Work with the Senior Student Lifestyle Coordinator and other stakeholders to further develop and improve the ‘Support’ area of the department, to enhance the student experience.

· Deliver targeted workshops, events, and initiatives that support student health and wellbeing, fostering positive lifestyle choices and outcomes in a way that reflects and respects the diversity of the University’s student population.
· Support the implementation of student wellbeing external accreditation schemes, administration and delivery of associated activities, seeking support from and liaising with Guild and University colleagues.
Success in the role will require a highly student and customer focused approach together with an emphasis on teamwork. The role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a positive ambassador for the Guild and facilitating under-represented groups to find a comfortable place here.

Requirements
To be successful, you will need:
- Proven experience in a successful direct marketing, fundraising, supporter activation and/or supporter engagement and/or customer marketing role
- Experience working in a project managing role, in particular leading or supporting on the delivery of complex campaigns with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work flexibly and independently, to manage varying competing priorities and meet strict deadlines with often changing priorities
Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:
- Experience of project managing direct marketing campaigns from start to finish across a range of channels, including print, telemarketing and digital.
- Experience of presenting to and project managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of working in the voluntary/fundraising sector
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and being able to work to short deadlines

What you'll be doing:
The Director of Fundraising is a senior, strategic leadership role responsible for driving significant and sustainable growth in income for MQ, with a target of achieving £10 million annual turnover over the next five years.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the postholder will set and deliver an ambitious, data-led fundraising strategy across philanthropy, trusts and foundations, partnerships and other income streams. They will personally steward high-value relationships while building a high-performing, commercially minded fundraising function capable of supporting MQ’s long-term mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy & Income Growth
- Develop and deliver MQ’s overall fundraising and income generation strategy, aligned to organisational priorities

About the Role
We are currently seeking a Trust Fundraising Support Officer to join our growing fundraising team. 2025 was our best year yet for income and this role is pivotal in helping us to take the next step in further growing our income.
This new role will play a key part in delivering funding from Trusts, Foundations and other Funders across the UK, supporting the Senior Trust Fundraising Officer to maximise our income. You will be responsible for making small-scale grant applications, and for growing our grants portfolio through identifying new funding opportunities.
There will be a range of projects to work on, providing vital support to ensure that we are increasing the number of warm Funders who regularly support the charity.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Build up a strong pipeline of prospective Funders by researching Trusts that align with Epilepsy Action’s vision and strategy.
- Secure income from small-scale charitable Trusts, Foundations, and other Grant Makers to meet individual and team targets.
- Ensure timely thanking, updates and reporting for all Grants and Donations from our rolling programme of applications.
- Use data in the CRM to analyse trends and identify opportunities.
At Epilepsy Action, we recognise the power of collaboration and teamwork, so our team members with hybrid contracts can expect to work a minimum of 40% at our office in Leeds. On average this is 2 days a week, normally on Mondays and Thursdays, for full-time employees.
