About the role

Reporting to the Senior Content Designer, the Content Editor role supports key elements of Shelter’s Content Strategy adoption, as well as acting as an ambassador for editorial excellence.

The Content Editor plays an important role in ensuring Shelter’s digital content is clear, engaging, accessible and aligned with our content strategy and house style. The role is responsible for writing, editing and maintaining high-quality web, email and blog content that supports a consistent, user-centred experience across Shelter’s digital channels.

Role specifics

We’re looking for someone who is an excellent writer and editor, with strong experience creating high-quality digital content that is clear, engaging and user-centred. You’ll be confident managing competing priorities and producing content that supports Shelter’s digital goals, while working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation. You’ll have a good understanding of digital editorial best practice, including tone of voice, SEO, accessibility and web usability, and experience developing style guides or training. You’ll also be comfortable using data and insight to review and improve content, and familiar with working in Content Management Systems.

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to help build and run the cloud platform that underpin one of our critical national services.

About the Role

The DevOps Engineer will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and optimising scalable, cloud-native environments that support Victim Support's critical technology services, including the containerised WitnessBox application.

In this hands-on role, you will work with AWS and Kubernetes to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure. You will be responsible for building and enhancing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, developing Infrastructure as Code, and improving automation across build and deployment processes.

You will support high availability services that people rely on every day, ensuring systems are resilient, compliant, and aligned with security best practices. Working closely with development, product, service delivery, and security teams, you will help deliver integrated, high-quality solutions and drive continuous improvement across the technology landscape.

About You

You will bring solid experience working with AWS and a strong background in building and optimising CI/CD pipelines. You'll have a good understanding of cloud security principles and a proactive approach to improving reliability, automation, and scalability.

Experience with Kubernetes and containerised applications is important, alongside familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools is also desirable.

You will be a strong problem solver with excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders. A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement will be key to success in this role.

About Spear

We launched the award-winning Spear Programme over 20 years ago, and there are now 18 Spear Centres across the country, equipping unemployed 16–24-year-olds facing barriers to employment with the skills and mindset they need to secure work and thrive in the workplace.

We’re looking for a new Church Partnerships Manager to join us for this northern based role, with travel across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving national growth by developing and nurturing partnerships with churches across the North of England.
