What you’ll be doing

Your focus will be to grow our charity’s impact and revenue streams by fundraising for environmental education, benefitting people and nature by securing funds from supporters, trusts/foundations, and businesses.

This will include building relationships with potential legators, inspiring supporters to maintain their commitment, eventually leaving the Field Studies Council a gift in their Will as well as turning strategic and operational priorities into practical funding bids.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Researching and identifying potential trusts/foundations/businesses as suitable external funders for designated target projects
• Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to draft fundraising bids, developing persuasive proposals and collating appropriate supporting documentation.
• Proactively develop positive, long-term relationships that grow Field Studies Council’s pipeline of prospects
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of relevant governmental, sector and business opportunities to identify potential funding opportunities
• Fundraising administration including gift processing, donor thanking and stewardship
• Supporting at events and funding meetings, as required

Where you’ll be based

The base location for this position is negotiable, with full remote working / home working a possibility. However, if you prefer working in office, we have Field Studies Centres throughout the country which you are also able to work from. We will also consider hybrid working options.

There may the occasional need to travel to meet with, colleagues, prospective funders and other stakeholders. We expect this to be limited, no more than once every 2-3 months.

It’s essential that you have experience working in a fundraising role or department. We need an experienced individual who is confident to write and submit successful fundraising bids to trusts, foundations and businesses.

You will also have experience creating and managing successful supporter journeys to optimise our donations, particularly legators.

As a skilled and compassionate counselling manager, aligned with our feminist ethos and the needs of our service users, you will bring experience in leading counselling services, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support for women affected by domestic abuse. You will have experience in managing counsellors and/or volunteers, providing clinical supervision, and ensuring best practice across service delivery. You will be able to oversee the full cycle of service management, including monitoring outcomes, safeguarding, and compliance, while also contributing to service development and innovation in line with our strategic priorities.

The role

The head of patient support will report to the director of services and innovation.

As the head of patient support, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and development of all services provided by the charity directly to patients. The department is led by the director of services and innovation and sits within a unique ‘double directorate’ which unites services with the engagement and communications department. The head of patient support reports to the director of services and innovation. The head of patient support line manages five members of staff: three volunteer managers, the support hub manager/lead and the complementary therapy service manager/lead who manage teams of varying sizes.

The team

The aim of the services department is to directly support the staff and patients of the Royal Free London Trust through providing direct services which enhance their experience. The department is responsible for providing complementary therapy for staff and patients, the support hub information and support centre, and a volunteering team supporting over 500 active volunteers.

The varied role sits within the Volunteer Board Fundraising team which leads income generation through regional and national volunteer boards, volunteer-led fundraising initiatives and delivery of special events through our high value event committees. Job purpose

· To contribute to the Income Generation / Engagement and Fundraising department’s purpose of maximising income from potential and current supporters through project managing specific events including securing sponsorship and providing committee support

About the role

The Head of Fundraising and Communications will lead the development and delivery of a systematic, data-driven, and project-managed approach to fundraising and communications — driving sustainable income growth and raising the charity’s profile and influence.

This role is first and foremost a fundraising leadership role. As the charity’s strategic lead for fundraising, they will shape and expand our income streams, strengthen systems and processes, and build a high-performing team to help us reach more young people with our vital work. Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours a week over a rolling rota which includes 7.5 - 12 hour day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday working between 08:00 -21:30. You may also be required to work flexibly around these hours as per resident and service requirements, including weekends and bank holidays.

About the Role

About You

ILPA is a charity and professional membership body working to improve immigration, asylum and nationality law. Our training programme is a core part of our work and one of our largest income streams. In 2024/25 we delivered 67 courses and conferences to more than 2,300 practitioners across the UK, supporting lawyers, caseworkers, advisers and organisations working with migrants.

We are recruiting a Training Manager to run this programme end to end. This is a hands-on role that requires strong organisation, confidence with digital platforms and the ability to work with experienced external tutors. • Facilitate the Training Advisory Board and ensure actions are followed up

• Ensure training content remains high quality and aligned with ILPA’s values

Event delivery

• Set up all events on Eventbrite, including pricing, discounts, communications and refunds

• Host online sessions and support hybrid delivery when required

• Troubleshoot logistical and technical issues on the day

Income, reporting and evaluation

• Monitor bookings, attendance, cancellations and income

• Produce monthly performance reports for the Chief Executive and Finance and Office Manager

• Maintain high participant satisfaction and take action where improvements are needed

Marketing and engagement

• Draft course descriptions, learning outcomes and promotional copy

• Promote events through ILPA’s weekly all-member update and other communication channels

• Respond to participant queries and ensure a reliable customer experience

Systems and administration

• Maintain accurate records, contracts, schedules and evaluation data

• Process tutor invoices and ensure they match delivery

• Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal policies

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience managing training or professional development programmes

• Strong organisational skills and confidence managing a busy schedule

• Clear communication skills and ability to work with senior practitioners

• Good commercial judgement and experience generating income

• Strong digital skills including Eventbrite and online meeting platforms

• Ability to work independently in a small charity team

• Ability to handle competing deadlines and resolve issues efficiently

Desirable

• Knowledge of immigration, asylum or nationality law

• Experience in a charity, membership body or legal-sector environment

• Experience commissioning or managing external tutors or contributors
