About the role 

Working closely with our Senior New Business Manager, you'll take ownership for researching, engaging and developing corporate partnerships with high-value companies across a range of exciting industry sectors.

Working arrangements

The Role

This position will support the Education and Workforce team in its mission to build a thriving, diverse physics teaching community and will see you support the operational delivery of the Scholarships Programme, including the recruitment, assessment and selection of Scholars, and the two-year support programme.

What will I be doing?

Working for our Strategic Implementation Manager the focus will be on leading on the operational delivery of the IOP Teacher Training Scholarships. Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Providing support to the Strategic Implementation Manager in relation to the Scholarships budget, including creating budget forecasts and quarterly invoices.
• Working with our internal Marketing Department to shape the marketing programme and evaluating the effectiveness of our various advertising channels – including our webinar series.
• To manage applications, including setting up and maintaining the online application form, screening ineligible candidates, obtaining references from referees, collating applications for the shortlisting process and assessment panels.
• Data management and storage, including providing data and analysis to facilitate monthly/quarterly reporting and invoicing to the DfE, ensuring candidate and Scholar data is captured, maintained and deleted according to the IOP policy guidelines, supporting the tracking of scholars through their initial training and into teaching.  Including, supervising the consultant in charge of the data capture of the status and wellbeing of Scholars.

Who will I work with?

You will be line managed by the Strategic Implementation Manager and support the Manager Teaching Workforce in the delivery of their projects.

Essential Criteria

• Experience of working in a project-based environment with significant internal and external stakeholder interest. Note that formal project management qualifications are not a requirement.
• Sustained and confident working knowledge of MS Excel and handling data
• Skilled in the administration and PM of multiple projects and ensuring quality assurance through evaluation, reporting and monitoring processes and documentation.

Nice to have

• This role does not require physics subject knowledge or teaching experience, but these would be an advantage.

Role: Head of Partnerships and Programme Funding

Location: Flexible within TT country offices (UK, Kenya, Tanzania, Bangladesh)

This role will lead the development and delivery of TT’s programme funding and partner engagement strategy. You will be responsible for expanding and stewarding relationships across TT’s funders, particularly philanthropic funders and select public sector development partners (statutory donors) and growing our funding.

You will lead the design of high-quality, fundable initiatives built on participatory, equitable partnerships - ensuring those we serve help shape the solutions. The Community Fundraising Manager is an exciting role at MDUK, that will sit within the Fundrasing Team. This role is central to building relationships, engaging local communities, and driving fundraising initiatives across the region. Being based in or regularly present in Northern Ireland is essential to effectively deliver on the role’s objectives and maintain close connections with supporters and stakeholders.

In Community Fundraising we are the team that builds relationships with our supporters, families, and event participants to fundraise so that MDUK can continue to find treatments and ultimately cures through research, and to drive improvements in care and quality of life. 

In this small but close team there are four other Community Fundraising Managers covering the rest of the UK and a Senior Manager who can support you and the rest of the team in delivering an excellent supporter journey to deliver the charities aims.

You will build relationships and manage both supporters and volunteers within the local community creating an impact by maximising financial contributions and raising awareness of fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy UK.

You will need a flexible approach to your working hours as the role may require some evening and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Work with the Board of Trustees to set and deliver the charity’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities.
• Provide clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations to the Board, ensuring effective governance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Position the charity as a recognised leader in tackling inequality and poverty in the borough, particularly the North Kensington area.
• Maintain financial oversight taking a strategic approach to managing Dalgarno Trust’s finances in a sustainable way – ensuring adequate reserves are maintained.
• Ensure effective short, medium, and long-term financial planning is in place throughout the different levels of the organisation. Provide effective scrutiny by working with Dalgarno Trust’s accountants and finance personnel.

Income Generation & Fundraising

• Lead a sustainable income generation strategy, including accessing trust and foundation fundraising, corporate sponsorships, statutory grants, and social enterprise opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with funders and donors to maximise opportunities for growth and diversification of income.
• Ensure effective financial management, monitoring, and reporting of a c.£750k annual budget.

Partnerships & Place-Leadership

• Develop and maintain partnerships with voluntary, public, and private sector organisations to aid joint delivery of services.
• Represent the Dalgarno Trust in local strategic forums, influencing public policy and service design to reflect community needs.
• Strengthen the charity’s role as an anchor organisation and hub for community activity and leadership.

Role Purpose: Carry out actions in support of the strategy set out in the Business Plan. Key responsibilities include: Strategy and Business Development and to lead the fundraising effort MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work with the Board of Trustees to develop the overall Business Strategy

· Lead the Fundraising programme, with a target income of £100,000 + per annum new funds

· Manage relationships with other 3rd party organisations operating in adjacent healthcare sectors

· Working with the Clinical Consultant, open 5 new Leg Clubs per annum, maintaining a prospective list of 10-20 potential new launches at any one time

· Work with existing and prospective Leg Clubs to understand the NHS landscape both to facilitate growth and to support existing clubs

· Develop relationships with existing Leg Clubs

· Support the Educational Programme of the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation REPORTING

· Produce a monthly activity report

· Report to Board of Trustees at the Quarterly Board Meetings

PERSON SPECIFICATION

1) Experience of 3rd Sector Charity organisations

2) Demonstrable Fund Raising experience

3) Strong interpersonal skills to be able to liaise with different stakeholders

4) Experience in dealing with the NHS and/or healthcare market more generally

5) A genuine interest to support better physical and mental healthcare provision for older people

GENERAL

This is a Sole Trader position which means that the individual must provide their own laptop/computer, phone etc. Appropriate expenses will be reimbursed. This role description is not exhaustive and the successful candidate may be asked to undertake additional appropriate duties as required.

TRAVEL

The role will require regular travel. The post holder must possess a driver’s license and ensure own vehicle is in good clean good clean working order and suitable for the task. The Foundation achieved charitable status in September 2005, Charity Registration Number: 1111259. Individual Clubs are members of the central Foundation and operate according to the Lindsay Leg Club Model. The model is set out in a practical Handbook which details how Clubs can be established. It includes guidelines on the four key elements of the model, procedures, policies and standards.
