Job description

Closing Date: 1 December 2025

Ref 7211

Save the Children UK as an exciting opportunity for a Partnership Lead to join the Government & Multilaterals team within our Partnerships for Impact.

As the Partnerships Lead, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing strategic partnerships with a range of Development banks including the World Bank Group. You'll lead and manage key stakeholder relationships, working closely with Country Offices, SCI, and other Members to ensure alignment with global partnership strategies.

This role will suit someone who is collaborative, strategic, and skilled at navigating complex stakeholder networks. You'll help champion and support the team to deliver more impactful partnerships, working across disciplines to strengthen links between our partners, Country Offices, and our Impact & Influencing priorities.

About Us

Save the Children UK believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, we work every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We ensure children's unique needs are met and their voices are heard. We deliver lasting results for millions of children, including those hardest to reach.

About the Department/Team

Through our Partnerships for Impact function, we catalyse positive change for children by partnering with governments, institutions multilaterals and the private sector. We secure flexible and restricted humanitarian and development funding for an impact focused portfolio, leverage partner expertise to design solutions for systemic change to advance children's rights and keep them safe, healthy and learning.

We focus on building sustainable partnerships for transformative programmes, promoting equitable solutions, amplifying the voices of children most affected by inequality, and prioritise locally led efforts for lasting change. Our balanced and impact focused portfolio of partners helps us catalyse impact by supporting the strategic priorities of our Country Offices and working in equitable partnerships with local partners to build evidence to influence and share knowledge for long term sustainable change.

About the Role

The Government & Multilateral Partnership Lead is responsible for leading and developing partnership strategies to secure and deliver high impact partnerships. The role will lead on managing key stakeholder relationships with our partners and will work in close collaboration with Country Offices, SCI and other Members to ensure the implementation of global partnership strategies. This role will influence and manage a wide network of stakeholders – both with our partner and across the global Save the Children movement to optimise our partnership engagement and ensure delivery against our Outcomes for Children goals.

You will champion and support the team to drive more impactful partnerships and where the opportunity merits, the role will work in multi-disciplinary teams with colleagues to support closer connections to our Country Offices and our Impact & Influencing aims. This role will be adaptable and ready to support impactful partner opportunities where needed across the Partnerships for Impact.

Key Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Develop and lead the implementation of high impact Partnership strategies to secure income and deliver progress against our strategic impact goals and priorities.

• Influence and manage a wide network of key stakeholders, both within government and multilateral partners and across the Save the Children movement, to maximize engagement and ensure alignment with impact and influence goals.

• Deliver and support the team in identifying and executing opportunities for impactful partnerships, fostering innovation and strategic alignment

• Stay adaptable and responsive, providing support where needed across the Partnerships team to drive impactful partner opportunities

• Identify and explore Innovative Finance propositions as relevant to external partners with the team to drive greater impact and secure funding

• Take ownership of global account management responsibilities, expanding beyond SCUK, to support the Movement.

• Provide mentoring and support to the Partnerships Managers

About You

We are looking for someone with the following experience, competencies, and skills:

• Expertise in developing and implementing partnership strategies to secure funding and achieve strategic impact goals.

• Strong knowledge of stakeholder relationship management, particularly with government and multilateral organizations.

• Proficiency in identifying and leveraging opportunities for innovative financing solutions to drive impactful partnerships.

• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to align partnerships with organizational goals.

• Ability to manage wide networks of stakeholders and ensure strategic alignment with global partnership objectives.

• Experience of working in intergovernmental organisations and on development financing would be advantageous

• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills, with an ability to inspire and support team members for impactful results.

• Excellent adaptability and responsiveness to shifting priorities and organizational needs.

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to influence and manage diverse stakeholder relationships.

• Strategic problem-solving and innovation-driven mindset for maximizing engagement opportunities.

• High resilience and flexibility to manage complex partnership environments and achieve goals.

Please note: To avoid disappointment, you are advised to submit your application as soon as possible as we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if a high volume of applications are received. This is to ensure that we can manage application levels whilst maintaining a positive candidate experience. Unfortunately once a vacancy has closed, we are unable to consider further applications.

Location & Ways of Working:

The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but at times you will be required to come to your contracted office (usually between 2–4 days per month, depending on the needs of your role, team, or service). For many roles, this is likely to be the minimum required to deliver impact.

This will be discussed and agreed with your manager / team and we encourage candidates to discuss our ways of working in more detail at interview stage.

Please note: travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense.

Flexible Working - We are happy to discuss flexible working options at interview.

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:

Save the Children UK believes in a world that is fair, inclusive and equitable where all children have the opportunity to change their world. We apply this to our workforce and we are committed to developing and supporting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organisation where all employees have a sense of belonging and feel that they can be "Free to Be Me". We are not looking for just one type of person - we want to recruit people who can add fresh perspectives, innovative ideas or challenge that disrupts the risk of group think.

We are especially interested in people whose childhood experiences - of life on a low income, of migration, of being in a racialised community, of the care system, of being LGBT+ or in an LGBT+ family or living with (or with someone with) a disability - help us to see things we might otherwise miss. Whatever your story is we want to hear it because we know that different voices, ideas, perspectives and knowledge, working together will enable us to better the lives of children around the world. This is the reason why we are all here.
