The Role

About You

Essential experience and qualifications include:

• Senior leadership experience within supported housing, homelessness or a closely related regulated sector
• Proven success leading multi‑site services and senior operational leaders
• Strong track record in quality improvement, safeguarding, compliance and inspection readiness
• Sound financial and commercial awareness, including managing significant budgets and resources
• Lean Six Sigma qualification
• Level 5 Safeguarding qualification

The Open Kitchen is a community-led initiative tackling food poverty and social isolation across the UK. Our kitchens, based in Hounslow (London), Nottingham, and Manchester, provide free, hot, and nutritious meals to individuals and families affected by homelessness, low income, or displacement as refugees.

Operating seven days a week, the Open Kitchen offers more than just food it provides a safe, welcoming space where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Each kitchen also serves as a community support hub, distributing essential household items and sleeping bags to those in need.

Through this initiative, we aim not only to alleviate hunger but also to connect service users with pathways to stability, empowerment, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Open Kitchen project team, the role will involve ensuring the smooth, safe, and impactful operation of Open Kitchen Manchester.

To lead the delivery of Muslim Hands’s free hot meal provision and structured cooking Facilities , ensuring that local communities can access nutritious hot meals in a safe, welcoming environment while also learning essential cooking skills to make everyday meals from food parcel ingredients. This role will directly contribute to reducing food insecurity, building confidence, and promoting independence among beneficiaries.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee day-to-day activities within Open Kitchen Manchester, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals.
• Plan, prepare, and cook hot meals for O.K’s free weekday lunch meals.
• Ensure all meals are healthy, nutritious, culturally appropriate, and prepared in line with food safety and hygiene regulations.

•  Cooking with and preserving large quantities of surplus food.

• Supervise and observe the cooking facility to ensuring compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
• Manage food inventory, kitchen supplies, and procurement processes to ensure sustainability and efficiency.

The Relationship Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

The Relationship Fundraising role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the country of Northern Ireland.

You will report to the Relationship Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Relationship Fundraising & Volunteering to drive the continued growth of the charity’s fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy, finance, and reporting

· Responsibility for stewardship and relationship building with supporters within the region.

· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with national partnerships in your region.

· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, in accordance with fundraising legislation and good practice.

· Accurately track and record contact with both community and corporate prospects for planning and reporting purposes.

Monitoring and Reporting

Head of Communications

Location: Home-based in the UK, within 90 minutes travel of Central London, with national and international travel

Contract: 2 years, part-time (3 days per week)

Job description

Key responsibilities

Strategic communications leadership

· Acting as the brand guardian, oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of high-quality strategic communications, branding and media strategies aligned with WeProtect Global Alliance’s organisational objectives.

· Embed a global communications lens across the Alliance’s work, proactively identifying opportunities to amplify impact and reach priority audiences.

· Provide expert advice on positioning, proactive and reactive communications, and reputational management to shape the Alliance’s approach.

· Ensure communications is embedded in actions plans and lead on monitoring, evaluation and insight.

External communications & media

· Ensure strong visibility and consistent branding across all communications channels, reinforcing WeProtect Global Alliance’s role as a leading global voice on online child sexual exploitation and abuse.

· Increasing WeProtect Global Alliance’s visibility in regions and sectors, increasing global brand recognition and audiences across digital channels.

· Lead media engagement to achieve national and international coverage, including oversight of press materials, high-impact communications outputs, high profile event speeches and statements.

· Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality content across the website, social media and other digital platforms including hands on support as required.

Member engagement & participation

· Oversee communications functions, including engagement strategies, communications channels and digital platforms.

Organisational strengthening & risk management

Who you are

We are looking for people who have a background in managing support services and understand the responsibility this requires.

Specifically, we are seeking candidates who can

• Provide day-to-day line management and supervision to a team of up to 10 regional caseworkers offering guidance, support, and quality assurance.
• Ensure lone working policies are adhered to daily to ensure the safety and security of the team whilst lone working and travelling to and from home visits.
• Contribute to an on-call duty manager system on a weekly basis, providing out-of-hours advice and support to caseworkers across the service.
• Deputise for the National service delivery lead during periods of leave, sickness, absence.
• Contribute to the ongoing professional development of caseworkers through reflective practice, caseload audit and management and the development and delivery of formal CPD sessions.
• Responsible (in collaboration with HR lead) for managing sickness and absence and return to work interviews.
• Maintain oversight and support caseworkers with complex and high-risk cases by attending safeguarding and risk management meetings, both internally and externally to ensure compliance with best practice.
• Ensure support is provided through our model of trauma informed care.
• Consult with the triage team to ensure the timely allocation of cases from our central service team into the regional teams.
• Deliver monthly [TL6] case review meetings with regional caseworkers, ensuring needs and risks of clients are met and outcomes recorded including quality assurance of safeguarding. Ensure all data is accurately recorded within the case management system.
• Ensure that callers’ identified needs are met satisfactorily, within professional boundaries, to outcome goals, with those outcomes recorded.
• To monitor and ensure that all support is delivered in a confidential and professional manner, adhering to safeguarding legislation and the latest data protection regulations.
• To consult with local partners and services referring into the service to establish pathways of care.
• Contribute to NRVS’ wider processes of audit, evaluation, and impact monitoring.
• Provide assessments and decisions around complex intervention planning, including escalation of cases requiring clinical guidance to clinical director.
• Actively contribute to the development of relationships with key stakeholders, organisations, and professionals in the region. This may include the provision of training and presentations to ensure that they are aware of the service.
• Work with the Development Team to deliver and report effectively against funding agreements in your region.

• Experience of managing high-risk support services on a national basis working with people in crisis with acute vulnerabilities and risks.
• Extensive experience of managing and co-ordinating teams, including remotely, including HR policies and procedures.
• Experience of establishing and sustaining partnerships with key partners, stakeholders, and other professionals.
• Experience of report writing for funding bodies.
• Experience of a case management review process and support framework, safeguarding and active monitoring, and escalation of cases with health and safety needs.
