Information and support for those affected by sarcoma is at the heart of our charitable objectives. Thanks to the amazing generosity and support of the sarcoma community, Sarcoma UK’s profile and influence has grown significantly in the past four years. This has enabled us to grow our Information and Support Services.
Support
In February 2016 we launched our nurse-led Support Line. We have answered over 13,000 queries from patients, carers, family members, friends, and health professionals. We are independent and confidential, offering time and a listening ear, and help people to find the right answers for them. We help regional and national peer support groups to run effectively across the UK. These groups offer a lifeline to people affected by sarcoma. We offer annual grants to each group, attend group meetings to give presentations, provide speakers and give support and advice to group leaders.
Information
Sarcoma UK provides health information to those affected by sarcoma, their families and friends. Our range of patient guides cover diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and many other issues faced by those affected by sarcoma. Our information is very well received by patients and health professionals.
In March 2018 we launched the Sarcoma Clinical Trials Hub on our website. It is an accessible way for the sarcoma community to find out about sarcoma clinical trials in the UK.
Sarcoma UK aims to produce the highest quality information for the sarcoma community. We work in line with NHS England’s certification scheme, The Information Standard, to ensure the information we produce is clear and reflects the most up to date clinical guidance. We involve sarcoma experts and people with personal experience of sarcoma as reviewers of our information to ensure our information is accurate and relevant to our target audience.
Support Line Advisor
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Home based. The post holder will be required to come to the office occasionally for meetings (Angel, London EC1V).

Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Head of Partnerships, to develop and implement a targeted major giving strategy to develop and deliver against detailed plans and objectives to grow the number of high value donors

We are looking for an Associate Head of Supporter Development who will lead a skilled and experienced team of 11, responsible for the strategic development, delivery and growth of our supporter development programme. Using your skills, you will support the Supporter Relationships Manager in growing the donor base through acquisition activities and increasing individual giving at national level from new and existing supporters.
The Supporter Relations Officer will work with the team to deliver an excellent supporter experience and play a vital and active role in shaping our supporter journey to aid the SVP in building long term relationships and encourage continued support.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To support the Supporter Relationships Manager in growing the donor base and increasing individual giving at national level from individual donors in line with agreed income targets.
- To support the development and growth of the Friends Scheme and increase levels of regular giving at national level.
- To project manage national fundraising appeals, campaigns, and individual giving products such as the SVP raffle, lottery, alternative Christmas gifts and other new fundraising initiatives where appropriate.
- To track income from individual donors, liaise with Finance on income reports and provide monthly income reports on progress against income targets and KPIs.
- To act as a source of specialist knowledge for the Society in supporter acquisition, individual giving, and digital fundraising.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL NEED:
- Demonstrable experience in coordinating and implementing fundraising appeals and/or marketing campaigns and/or projects to time scale and within budget
- Demonstrable experience working in the field of direct marketing, donor acquisition and retention
- Demonstrable experience in growing levels of regular giving across digital and offline campaigns
- Experience in working and maintaining successful relationships with agencies and suppliers to deliver targets
- Knowledge of donor acquisition, individual and regular giving
It is desirable that the candidate can demonstrate the following –
- Experience in digital and online fundraising
- Experience in delivering fundraising lotteries and raffles
- Experience in delivering Friends Schemes or other similar donor loyalty programmes
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising regulation and legislation
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles of supporter care and stewardship

The CRT are looking for an experienced, motivated and inspirational Volunteer Manager to join our team for the very first time. Core Responsibilities
- To be the link person between the CRT Trustees, the tenant farmers, the Monitoring Officers and Conservation Director and the volunteers
- To implement a new Volunteer Programme, whilst giving existing CRT volunteers (and staff) confidence that they are valued
- Have a thorough knowledge of national volunteering policies, regulations and best practice
- To develop volunteer policies and procedures, ensuring they are up to date, reflect best practice and are communicated appropriately
- To regularly travel to all CRT sites to identify volunteering opportunities, tasks and to ensure compliance with all policies. Ensure consistency to volunteering across all sites
- To create an annual plan of volunteer tasks for all CRT properties, including seasonal tasks. Ensure the volunteers have the training and equipment to complete these tasks.
- To work with the Marketing team to create engaging, effective and consistent volunteer communication and consultation mechanisms
- At every property, proactively identify and promote future volunteering opportunities, and develop volunteer engagement initiatives to attract and retain a wide range of volunteers
- Effective recruitment of volunteers across nine properties, including advising on potential volunteer opportunities, role profiles, advertising campaigns, suitable assessment methods and attending interviews/selection days (as appropriate), to widen volunteer participation and broaden activities
- To ensure all recruitment administration of existing and new volunteers has been completed, ensuring compliance with relevant Data Protections and GDPR regulations.
- To oversee the administration of volunteer travel and subsistence claims.
- To effectively manage any volunteer issues which might arise
- To provide Trustees with volunteering evaluation information, assessment and analysis in areas such as volunteer numbers, volunteer hours, impact, outputs, activities, skill development and training undertaken, as may be required for internal and external reporting

- To create, develop and implement volunteer recognition initiatives
- To provide training for staff and tenant farmers on working with volunteers

This role is a full-time (37.5 hour) role with a salary of £30,000 per annum (negotiable dependant on experience). This role is a hybrid role with at least 2 days a week visiting CRT properties and full-time hours of 9am-5pm are expected.
Regular travel is to be expected to all CRT Properties. Mileage will be covered to these sites but a full driving licence and access to a car will be required as most are very rural and not on public transport routes. We are looking at fleet cars for specific staff - this role necessitates an SUV hybrid car.
This is a permanent position, although subject to a 6-month probationary review.

This role is predominantly home-working, this means that you would be engaging with people over the phone, through video conferencing and by utilising other appropriate communication methods. There will also be some Face to Face meetings required in the designated region. You will be required to reside within this geographical area and a full driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.

The responsibilities of the Head of Property Finance Change & Onboarding will include:
- Developing a Project Management Office (PMO) approach to ensure that changes impacting Property Finance are properly planned, resourced, governed and delivered seamlessly.
