This brand-new, exciting role at War Child will provide crucial administrative and operational support to the Ambassador & Advocate team, helping the team to manage high-profile relationships and deliver Ambassador and high-profile events effectively.
The role will have a focus on supporting event delivery connected to Ambassador engagement at War Child, playing a key part in the planning and execution of events such as ‘Most Wanted’ and War Child’s annual flagship gala, the Wassail. This includes assisting with operational tasks in the lead-up to events, attending meetings, coordinating logistics and providing on-the-day support to ensure events run smoothly. The postholder will work closely with the Lead Events Producer to deliver a seamless experience for guests and Ambassadors, contributing to War Child’s fundraising and relationship-building objectives.
The role will also play a key part in supporting the team deliver relationships at War Child, ensuring strong systems and processes are maintained across the team. They will support on Ambassador-related activity such as invoice management and the preparation of briefing materials and impact reports. They will also support fundraising activities delivered by the team such as prize draws and auctions and assist with the vetting of new high-profile individuals.
The team regularly comes together in our London office for collaboration, relationship-building and key meetings. The successful candidate will be expected to attend these in person and support events in London and elsewhere when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate annual calendar of volunteer training events
· Work in partnership with the Volunteer Development Manager to understand volunteer recruitment needs across services and the wider team.
· Liaise with services teams to plan and develop the calendar of volunteer training events, both in person and virtual.
· Manage relationships with training venues ensuring desired dates are secured early in line with event requirements and budgets.
· Proactively research new training venues which meet accessibility requirements.

· Maintain database records ensuring swift distribution of applications to services team
· Support the Volunteer Development Manager to identify areas of potential efficiency and improvement in working practices in the recruitment, training and onboarding processes.
· Work across the wider team to understand and support volunteer requests, proactively approaching active volunteers with projects and opportunities for them to get involved.
· Coordinate volunteer request opportunities with volunteers and volunteer managers to ensure requests are fulfilled to raise awareness of Back Up’s services.

What you'll do
Deliver and maintain an accurate monthly payroll for 600+ employees in partnership with the payroll provider and ensure all payroll checks are completed with exceptional scrutiny to aim for minimal to zero errors.
Produce and clean management data, using a variety of data sources to maintain and develop dashboards, establishment lists and ad hoc data requirements to support the directorate.
Manage and ensure accurate recording in our HRIS to ensure a consistent employee life cycle
Build and maintain workflows in our HRIS to enable the success of the team and the charity’s managers
Provide insights and trends for stakeholders across the charity using HRIS data

The role
The Publishing Assistant will be responsible for supporting the timely delivery of publications by assisting with the editorial processes for book publications and the Journal of the British Academy.
Your role will involve building excellent working relationships with authors, editors, and key stakeholders and managing time effectively while undertaking day-to-day publishing administration. You will manage proposal submissions, organise peer reviews, and keep publications moving by tracking deadlines and chasing updates where needed. You’ll be in regular contact with academics and colleagues, so being clear, professional, and approachable in your communication is key.
This role would suit someone who is early in their publishing career or looking to move into academic publishing who enjoys working with people and managing processes. A demonstrable interest in the humanities and social sciences is essential. Previous experience in publishing is beneficial but not required.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. You will have excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a range of stakeholders. You will be comfortable working independently and able to confidently use your initiative to anticipate issues and find solutions.

About the Role
The Peer Support service provide tailored, personalised support for someone’s individual needs. This includes using different tools and techniques to help an individual improve areas of their life they may be struggling with. This approach includes; Hope, Courage, Togetherness and Responsive. Peer Support is based on the recognition that there is no better person to support the path towards recovery, than someone who has walked a similar path as that person.

Support Worker
We're looking for a passionate, compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our Mental Health Social Care Service in Tower Hamlets
£20,010.00 per annum, working 26 hours per week.

The working pattern for this role is: - 2x 13 hour shifts per week, including weekends and bank holidays
Needs to be available for Friday team meetings
What you'll do:
* Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive
* atmosphere
* Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and
* administrative responsibilities
* Conducting key work sessions as required, that are innovative and engaging in order to
* achieve individual goals
* Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within
* an attitude of 'positive risk taking'
* Providing support with daily living activities, including practical assistance to support
* customers to independent living e.g. budgeting, cooking, establishing a night time routine
* Supporting customers to maintain a healthy environment and where appropriate assisting
* them to clean their accommodation and maintain good personal hygiene
* Assisting in the recording and reporting of customer incidents
* Managing customer referrals, completing assessments and obtaining and maintaining all
* relevant paperwork
