Domestic Abuse Support Worker*

Brighton Women’s Refuge is a safe haven for women and their children, fleeing domestic abuse.
As a Domestic Abuse Support Worker, you’ll manage a caseload of customers who have complex needs, through their journey with Stonewater’s supported housing service, ensuring a strengths based, trauma informed approach that enables them to realise their potential.
You’ll work closely with key partners, delivering quality, outcome focused coaching support sessions in one-to-one and group settings, providing both emotional and practical support. This will include sessions on keeping safe, healthy relationships, substance use, mental health and wellbeing, finance and budget management, and employment skills. You’ll ensure that our customers are supported to stay safe and are aware of their rights to legal protection for themselves whilst identifying and signposting customers to any other services that they may benefit from that is available from partner agencies.

The service provides support across the whole geography of Avon & Somerset. This role involves making initial contact with victims of domestic abuse and other crimes, providing support in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. The role is full-time and is hybrid between Bridewell Police Station in central Bristol and home working. A suitable and confidential workspace at home is therefore required. Whilst in training and awaiting police vetting the successful candidate will be required to work their office days at the Vassall Centre (Fishponds, Bristol). There will also be a requirement to occasionally work from the Vassall Centre once vetting has cleared.

RCJ Advice is an exceptional Citizens Advice and Law Centre delivering national legal advice services, both frontline and second tier, to people who are unable to afford legal representation and advice. We are based within the Royal Courts of Justice, the Central London Family Court and community sites across London, where we deliver local Citizens Advice services.
This post is a new role within RCJ Advice and forms part of the Improving Access to Justice for Domestic Abuse Survivors project. The three-year project aims to improve access to legal advice and support for domestic abuse survivors living in areas where legal aid services are limited.
The project will strengthen referral pathways, increase awareness of legal remedies and build sustainable links between domestic abuse organisations, frontline professionals and legal providers to ensure survivors can access appropriate legal support.
During the first year, the postholder will likely focus on developing the project in Suffolk. This will include mapping existing services, building relationships with domestic abuse organisations and frontline professionals, developing referral pathways and strengthening links with local legal providers.
In years two and three, the postholder will move the focus of the project to new legal aid deserts in England (we have a similar role in Wales) identified during the course of the project, developing new local networks, referral pathways and partnerships to improve access to legal advice and support for domestic abuse survivors in those areas.
Alongside this project development work, the postholder will provide specialist family law advice and support to domestic abuse survivors, including advice on protective remedies such as Non-Molestation Orders, Occupation Orders and other family law matters including Domestic Abuse Protection Orders (DAPOs). This will include providing advice through appointments, telephone and email advice, and supporting survivors with CourtNav applications.
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with experience of family law and domestic abuse work. They will have strong legal skills, experience of developing partnerships or services, and the ability to build trusted relationships with survivors, professionals and community organisations.
The postholder will work closely with colleagues across RCJ Advice, including the FLOWS team and Family team, sharing learning and contributing to wider organisational work supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
The role will require flexibility to travel across England, including occasional overnight stays, to support delivery of the service, partnership development and engagement activities.

Whilst working with other agencies, the IDVA (MASH) will strive to keep survivor’s safety at the centre of all coordinated responses. Located within the family hub in Erith you will hold a caseload of 25-30 service users.

As an experienced professional, you will be highly organised and self-motivated with a passion for ending Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and safeguarding. You will have a “can-do‟ approach as well as a demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer.
You will have an in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children, demonstrable substantial experience in providing emotional and practical support to victims of VAWG. As well as having essential experience of attending multi-agency, risk-focused meetings.

The postholder will be based at our Bexleyheath service. The role is centred around face-to-face support, including assisting survivors to appointments, court and holding one to one meetings in person. Given the nature of this role, we are unable to offer hybrid working for this position.

About the role
The Finance & Operations Officer provides high-quality finance, operational and organisational support to ensure the effective day-to-day running of Woman's Trust. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Family IDVA to join Birmingham's new Family IDVA Service. This is one of two Senior IDVA roles, with this post being part-time (30 hours). This innovative city-wide service will provide specialist domestic abuse support to parents aged 16+ and their children under 18, delivering a flexible, whole-family response that meets families at the earliest opportunity and helps prevent the escalation of harm.
Based within Birmingham's Family Hubs, Senior Family IDVAs will provide specialist domestic abuse support to families through risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support, and partnership working. You will manage a complex caseload, working with families experiencing high-risk and complex domestic abuse whilst ensuring the voices and needs of both parents and children remain central to all aspects of support.
Alongside direct casework, you will support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day delivery and development of the service. You will line manage and support a team of approximately five Family IDVAs, providing coaching, supervision, case guidance and performance support to ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services. We are looking for a Service Lead and a Support Worker to join our team on a fixed term contract to help guide children and families on their healing journey.

About the roles:
As a Service Lead you will play a significant role in supporting children and families affected by domestic abuse, some of your key responsibilities will be to:

About you:
A successful Service Lead will have professional expertise in the field of domestic abuse and hold a qualification or professional experience in social care or childcare support work.
You’ll be experienced at managing a team with effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues. You’ll also have experience of working with vulnerable parents and/or children in a range of community settings and adept at delivering groupwork programmes.
A successful Support Worker will need a good understanding of domestic abuse and the impact on children and families (or an interest in working in this field), with experience of delivering groupwork programmes for vulnerable parents and/or children.

RCJ Advice is an exceptional Citizens Advice and Law Centre delivering national legal advice services, both frontline and second tier, to people who are unable to afford legal representation and advice. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing a new city-wide service from the very beginning. Working within Birmingham's Family Hubs, Senior Family IDVAs will combine specialist domestic abuse expertise with leadership responsibility, supporting the safe and effective delivery of services for non-abusive parents and their children who have experienced domestic abuse.
As a Senior Family IDVA, you will work closely with the Operations Manager to support the mobilisation, development and ongoing success of the service. About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Family IDVA to join Birmingham's new Family IDVA Service. This is one of two Senior IDVA roles, with this post being full time (37.5 hours). This innovative city-wide service will provide specialist domestic abuse support to parents aged 16+ and their children under 18, delivering a flexible, whole-family response that meets families at the earliest opportunity and helps prevent the escalation of harm.
Based within Birmingham's Family Hubs, Senior Family IDVAs will provide specialist domestic abuse support to families through risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support, and partnership working. You will manage a complex caseload, working with families experiencing high-risk and complex domestic abuse whilst ensuring the voices and needs of both parents and children remain central to all aspects of support.
Alongside direct casework, you will support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day delivery and development of the service. You will line manage and support a team of approximately five Family IDVAs, providing coaching, supervision, case guidance and performance support to ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services. You will lead by example, sharing your expertise, promoting best practice and helping to develop a confident and resilient team.
The role will also involve supporting service quality and performance, including case reviews, audits, reporting and ensuring compliance with service standards and contractual requirements. You will work closely with Birmingham Children's Trust, Family Hubs and a range of statutory and community partners to strengthen multi-agency responses and improve outcomes for families affected by domestic abuse.
In addition, you will contribute to the service's training and engagement offer, helping to build awareness and understanding of domestic abuse amongst professionals across Early Help, education, health and community settings.

About Woman's Trust
The charity was established in 1996 to meet the gap in specialist mental health services. Woman’s Trust is led by and for women and aims to ensure that women affected by domestic abuse can live a life free from further harm and abuse. Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, empowering survivors on their journey to recovery from the trauma. About the role
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the recruitment, onboarding, engagement and retention of volunteers across Woman's Trust.
Working closely with managers across the organisation, the postholder will oversee the end-to-end volunteer journey, ensuring volunteers receive a positive, inclusive and well-supported experience from application through to departure.
The role will coordinate recruitment for all volunteer opportunities, including volunteer counsellors, facilitators, administrative volunteers, finance volunteers, fundraising volunteers and other volunteer roles as required. The postholder will also lead initiatives to strengthen volunteer engagement, recognition and retention, helping to build a sustainable and diverse volunteer community that supports the organisation's mission.
The role works closely with the HR & Operations Manager to ensure volunteering practices remain compliant with safeguarding, GDPR, organisational policies and best practice guidance.
