Job Summary for Corporate Partnerships Officer

• Join a high‑performing Partnerships and Philanthropy team of eight fundraisers specialising in securing high‑value support from corporates and charitable trusts.

‘Generous Giving’ is a small but vibrant and established team that is part of the wider diocesan Mission and Ministry Team, under the leadership of the Director of Mission and Ministry. The focus of Generous Giving is to work with parish leadership

Description 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Fundraising to lead and further develop our fundraising activity at a pivotal time for the Cathedral. This is a strategic and hands on role, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Management Team to secure the resources needed to sustain and grow the Cathedral’s mission, ministry and buildings. 

You will take the lead on generating fundraising income, primarily through trusts and foundations, while also developing appeals, legacy giving, regular giving and new fundraising income streams. You will build on the strong foundations already in place, bringing creativity, rigour and collaboration to everything you do. 

The role 

As Head of Fundraising, you will: 

• Lead relationships with trusts and foundations, identifying opportunities, writing compelling applications and managing reporting and compliance 

• Drive major fundraising bids to support the Cathedral’s Estates Masterplan and strategic priorities 

• Develop and deliver fundraising appeals and pilot new initiatives to diversify income 

• Grow legacy and regular giving, building a sustainable pipeline of long-term supporters 

• Lead supporter care, engagement and fundraising events 

• Oversee fundraising communications and profile raising activity 

• Work collaboratively across the Cathedral to develop fundable projects and shared ownership of fundraising

The Head of Public Fundraising will lead the design and delivery of a mass audience fundraising strategy for The Children’s Trust. Taking a supporter centred approach, the postholder will lead a team of individual giving and relationship fundraisers to generate income through the strategic and long-term engagement of new and existing supporters.

Role Requirements

• Develop, implement and monitor a fundraising strategy across all public fundraising areas aligned to the voluntary income strategy.

Job Summary for Colorectal Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist

In our Services team we aim to deliver clear and accessible support offer for people affected by a bowel cancer diagnosis through a clinically focused ‘front door’ of services. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead to deliver a strategy which will extend our reach to bowel cancer patients and establish referral routes from the NHS into our services.

As our Clinical Nurse Specialist you will work on the Charities Ask the Nurse Service alongside other specialist nurses. This is our service for patients to ask questions or concerns about bowel cancer. You will be responsible answering queries from those affected by bowel cancer and managing and developing the service.

You will work closely with the Clinical Lead to ensure Bowel Cancer UK’s clinical focus meets the needs of those affected by bowel cancer and is up to date. You will also provide expert clinical advice, with guidance of the Clinical Lead, across all areas of Bowel Cancer UK - including health professional education, policy, communications and fundraising equipping them with timely health system and clinical information.

Main responsibilities

• Support the Clinical Lead on, development, delivery and effective implementation of our core clinical (nurse led) services offer (Ask The Nurse service).
• Support the Clinical Lead on ensuring sound clinical governance across our clinical services.
• Manage our engagement and support offer to healthcare professionals to develop our networks and establish referral pathways from the NHS into our services.
• Provide expert clinical advice and opinion to programmes across the charity as required including input into health information content, media enquiries and clinical queries from patients.
• Represent Bowel Cancer UK externally on appropriate panels, advisory groups, at events and in the media.
• Use learning, knowledge and evidence from programmes of work across the charity and the sector to inform continuous improvement in the development of clinical services.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• To offer front line education advisory support service to kinship, adoptive and foster families and professionals seeking support and advice about education services for care experienced children.

• To lead the development and delivery of education training to professionals across Scotland and actively support AUK lobbying and campaigning efforts on education matters.

• To develop, coordinate and support delivery and administration of an education support group (online or in person) to the care experience community youth and family.

• To work alongside our youth service provision ensuring the voices of young people are centred in resource development and delivery, supporting development of education and employability support.  

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with education advisor lead in delivering education support service to families and professionals.

• Manage own caseloads, monitor and review progress at regular education meetings using established tools. Ensure tracking and recording on AUK system database and Sharepoint.

• Develop, promote and deliver Education training for professionals across Scotland. Including supporting the development and delivery of Education elements of training in other AUK teams and development of commissioned projects e.g. care experience week lessons, resources and training for Education Scotland

• Responsible for administrative tasks relating to service delivery

• Respond appropriately to enquiries via email, telephone or in person, referring on to other services and ensure accurate and appropriate recording and tracking of all enquires are maintained using appropriate database systems.  

• Contribute and assist in development of education specific projects to improve service delivery (i.e. education peer support group or young person support group)

• Support manager in monitoring and reporting of service delivery

• Contribute and assist in the development, design and planning of promotional resources and information materials and factsheets.

• Attend relevant national meetings, conferences, training events, networking and development opportunities to promote Adoption UK services

• Collaborate, liaise with Adoption UK Scotland and Adoption UK organisation in the delivery and participation of specific events and activities relating to the delivery of Education services for Adoption UK services.

Knowledge and Experience

• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the education system in Scotland (Essential)

• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the issues, challenges and concerns affecting the kinship community, care experienced children and young people. (Essential)

• Experience of event coordination, training delivery and/or group facilitation (Essential)

• Knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practice (Desirable)

• Experience of volunteer coordination or support (Desirable)

• Professional qualification in Education (Essential)

• Demonstrable event facilitation, group or training delivery and administration experience will be required along with demonstrable knowledge of the issues affecting our care experienced communities.

About the Role

As our Director of Finance and Resources, you’ll be a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, leading on:
 

• Strategic financial planning and advice for future growth and sustainability of the Charity
• Operational Financial Management, Reporting and Performance 
• Financial Accounts and Annual Reports
• Financial Control, Governance, Audit, and Compliance
• IT, Facilities, and Information Governance
• Management of teams and contracts in the Finance and Resources Directorate

You’ll work closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees to support our strategic vision and ensure sound financial stewardship to deliver support for survivors now and into the future.  The position is offered on a flexible, hybrid and part time basis. 
 

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:
 

• Professionally qualified (or equivalent) in finance management and accountancy
• Experienced and deeply knowledgeable in senior financial leadership and strategy development in the voluntary sector/an equivalent size charity 
• A skilled and experienced leader and manager of people, contracts and major service change projects
• Collaborative, analytical, and proactive in problem-solving
• Committed to feminist principles and to equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Ideally also skilled in overseeing IT, building and premises management and information governance, with training and support available where required. 

As well as experienced Directors, this role would also suit an exceptional Head of Finance looking to step up into their first Director role.

About the role:

This role supports the delivery of stories and campaigns that achieve media coverage nationally and in regional media that fall outside of our hospice catchment areas.

You will lead on PR support for some key areas of the charity, including retail and volunteering.
You’ll also gain exposure to all the teams that the press office supports, which includes writing press assets for fundraising, healthcare, bereavement and influencing/campaigning stories.
You will ensure enquiries from the media are actioned efficiently (including when on-call) and be skilled at spotting media opportunities based on the news agenda, as well as pitching Sue Ryder stories to the media and liaising with journalists.
In this role you will be required to lead on some PR activities/projects with minimal supervision and support the PR officer with their projects, as required
