About the role 

The Community Fundraising Team at Parkinson’s UK is dedicated to supporting thousands of individuals, groups and local businesses to fundraise across the UK. 

As a Community Fundraiser, you’ll play a key role in strengthening these connections, identifying and cultivating new local partnership opportunities, generating leads and inspiring others to fundraise for people living with Parkinson’s.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and deliver ambitious local fundraising plans and budgets to maximise local support, provide exceptional stewardship and achieve financial targets in line with the community fundraising strategy.

• Proactively identify and build partnerships with local companies, networks and community organisations to grow and build a sustainable pipeline.

• Actively support, motivate and manage a portfolio of individual supporters to fundraise for Parkinson’s UK, ensuring opportunities realise their full potential and key supporters are retained.

• Lead on the development and delivery of a portfolio of fundraising activities such as local delivery of the Walk for Parkinson’s event series.

• Lead in developing all streams of local fundraising in allocated areas, including community support, local corporate activity and collaborating with central teams.

• Collaborate with your local Community team to  promote best practice and encourage the sharing of ideas.

• Demonstrable experience of general fundraising principles of the following fundraising disciplines: community, corporate and events. 

• Experience of identifying and managing successful community and corporate partnerships to achieve agreed income and long term engagement.

We are seeking a part-time participation officer (0.3 FTE) to support our senior staff in the delivery of this important and ambitious work.

Job Description:

The participation officer will:

• · Support the development of a training offer to build capacity and leadership among migrants and migrant community organisations in Scotland.
• · Assist in the development and delivery of a bespoke curriculum and the organisation and running of training sessions.
• · Take a leading role in ensuring that the training offer is widely advertised to an appropriate audience and in the recruitment and selection of participants.
• · Design and assist in recording and analysing feedback and evaluation from training programme participants.
• · Provide ongoing engagement with and support to our Migrant Lived Experience Panel members.
• · Support a recruitment, application and selection process for a new group of Migrant Lived Experience Panel members.

About The Role

At St Mungo’s, we believe in creating opportunities for people with lived experience of homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, involvement with the criminal justice system, and/or recovery services. We have opportunities available for 18 month fixed term contracts as Client Support Apprentice Workers in our two of our services in Westminster. 

What you’ll do as an Apprentice Worker 

Working as a Client Support Apprentice Worker, you will complete practical work experience and academic learning to build the knowledge, skills and experience to work with clients in housing and homelessness sector.

As an Apprentice Worker you will:

• Work alongside colleagues, students and volunteers working together to support and empower clients to recover from homelessness and rebuild their lives.

• Gain practical experience and skills in caseload management while working in a person-centred way to support wellbeing and recovery. 

• Learn how to deliver day-to-day services while collaborating with colleagues and external partners. 

• Have opportunities to shadow experienced staff and receive on-the-job training, observing how we empower our clients to access the right support and move on. 

• Complete the practical element of your apprenticeships with meetings and event attendance as well as formal learning while completing a Level 3 Peer Worker qualification. 

• Complete on and off the job learning, shadowing and development opportunities.

• Receive support and supervision from an Apprenticeship Advisor as well as a direct line manager, every step of the way. 

Where you’ll work 

We’re excited to offer 2 Client Support Apprentice Worker opportunities, joining the team in the London Borough of Westminster in the following services: 

Westminster Atlas Team, which provides support to people experiencing street homelessness and multiple disadvantages across Westminster. The team maintains frequent contact with clients to support them into accommodation, improve their wellbeing, and sustain positive outcomes. 

Westminster First Contact Team (FCT), which works on the frontline supporting people who are new to the streets. Through street outreach shifts across the borough, the team engages individuals, assesses their needs, and helps identify the most appropriate route away from homelessness.

This apprentice scheme is for people with lived experience.

Our Apprentice scheme is specifically designed for people with lived experience, and we can only offer places to the people the programme is designed for. 

You may have personally experienced homelessness (spent time sleeping rough, or lived in a hostel, refuge or supported accommodation), you may have experienced domestic abuse, mental health struggles, substance misuse problems or had contact with the criminal justice system and have used recovery services as a result. 

We’re looking for people with a genuine motivation to build a career supporting vulnerable adults, who can bring: 

• Learning and reflections gained through lived experience and recovery.

• Ability to demonstrate how personal lived experience has shaped your approach to support and wellbeing.

• Good communication and listening skills, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

• Some experience through volunteering or working in a similar setting.

• Basic admin and IT skills and a proactive attitude towards learning.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will work within the support team in providing the first point of contact for all support enquiries to Ovacome, via telephone, email, instant chat, and social media channels.

You will provide information and support on a wide range of ovarian cancer issues, including broader issues around living with cancer, ensuring that all information is evidence based and up-to-date.

You will assist in the moderation of the My Ovacome support forum and provide information where required to members.

You will assist in keeping the Support Services information on the Ovacome website up-to-date.

You will keep full, accurate, contemporaneous records of all enquiries following Ovacome policies and procedures, including confidentiality and data protection. You will maintain and update records on the Ovacome database.

You will assist in the organisation and facilitation of Ovacome groups as required.

You will maintain knowledge of clinical and research developments in ovarian cancer through relevant journals, attending conferences and liaison with healthcare professionals.

You will assist with the production of reports as required.

You will participate in regional support events as required, liaising with local services prior to the event. 

You will contribute to the Ovacome information resources and work with other members of the Ovacome to produce content that is of interest to our community.

You will work with the support team to identify common questions and themes from our service users so that we can proactively meet the needs of the wider community.

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker for a fixed term period of up to 12 months, on a full-time basis (35 hours, 5 days per week) to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Kentown Team to families in the local area, at a time where they need it most.

This role will focus on engaging fathers who may be less likely to access traditional services, including through outreach, hospital-based engagement, family hub delivery, one-to-one support and home visiting. You will build and manage a targeted caseload aligned to family hubs and areas of highest need and bring specialist knowledge of father engagement whilst contributing to the ongoing development of Dad Matters practice across the organisation.

This role requires flexibility, including regular out-of-hours work, to ensure fathers can access support at times and in places that work for them.

About The Role

We’re launching a brand-new Day Rehab Programme in North Northamptonshire and are looking for a Service Manager to help shape and lead it from the ground up. This is a part-time role (21 hours per week, with flexible working patterns available), offering the chance to build a service that will make a real difference in people’s recovery journeys.

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced mental health manager to join our exciting new project, working with those engaging in gambling harms behaviours and affected others. The role will include overseeing various workstreams to the service, including: crisis de-escalation, casework, psychoeducation workshops and facilitating a space for peer-led activities. You will have a small team of support workers and volunteers to manage.

Your role as a team manager will be to directly support a team of support workers and volunteers in all areas of the service. You will aid in de-escalating those in a state of crisis which is exacerbated or influenced by gambling related behaviours. You will be expected to manage crises and your team, within a drop-in model. You will be expected to hold your own caseload of clients, providing 1:1 bespoke advice surrounding gambling and mental health support. In addition, you will aid in overseeing peer-led psychoeducation groups addressing root causes of gambling and a safe environment for loved ones to build meaningful peer connections. We are seeking autonomous, creative individuals with experiences of working with behaviours around addiction and direct management responsibilities.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and empower a team of varied personalities and skills
• Work closely with senior managers, stakeholders including commissioners
• De-escalate immediate mental health crises
• Co-produce and facilitate various psychoeducation workshops
• Hold your own caseload of clients; providing advice and support on various matters eg financial management, debt, housing and other social issues pertaining to gambling behaviours

What you'll do:

We’re hiring a Safe Ground Family Counsellor to support men in custody at HMP Forest Bank, located in Manchester.

As a Family Counsellor, you will identify the needs of men and their families in custody , providing anti-punitive, anti-shame, tailored support to maintain and grow family ties for individuals whilst in custody . You will deliver person centred therapeutic support through group, one-to-one and triage sessions, helping participants improve relationships, develop emotional awareness, and build healthier communication. The role includes family counselling clinics, group programme support, and joint work with prison teams and external partners. You will work in a trauma-informed way to support rehabilitation and strengthen family connections. Join us on our mission to empower independence through trauma-informed solutions and dynamic partnerships that keep people out of prison, out of hospital, and off the streets.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support men who may be facing challenges with family relationships, father-child contact, emotional regulation, trauma, communication difficulties and maintaining positive relationships during custody

• Deliver group and one-to-one counselling sessions, as well as facilitating family counselling clinics

• Support full time delivery of programmes such as Fathers Inside and Man Up, which have received national recognition and are delivered across custodial and community settings

About You

You will be comfortable working in a custodial environment and able to build trust with individuals from a range of backgrounds. You will be proactive in managing your workload, able to adapt within a busy service, and confident working both independently and as part of a wider team, often challenging prison cultures. You will be keen to support men in custody to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves.

• Experience supporting people with trauma, relationship challenges, or within the criminal justice system with BACP registration or equivalent professional accreditation

• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport and support them to achieve their personal goals

• Ability to show empathy and understanding of the challenges people face and adapt approaches to meet individual needs

• Confidence delivering both one-to-one and group-based support

• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals and services, often challenging punitive approaches

• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
