The Wave Project transforms young lives - in 2025 we supported more than 2,600 surfers through our Surf Therapy, Surf Club and Adaptive surfing programmes.

The charity, with headquarters in Newquay (Cornwall), was founded in 2010 and has expanded to become the UK’s leading ‘surf therapy’ charity. We now employ nearly 35 staff at 16 sites around the UK, and have nearly 1,400 amazing volunteers.

The Finance Lead has a crucial role in assisting the Head of Finance with ensuring the effective running of the Finance department, taking responsibility for the management and oversight of the day to day operations of the Finance function of the Charity and its trading subsidiary.

To thrive in this position, you’ll need to take responsibility for the management and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the finance function of our charity and its trading subsidiary.

Key responsibilities include:
• Managing the bank relationships including bank accounts and cash positions to ensure accuracy within the CRM and finance system.
• Managing the accounts receivable, accounts payable, procure to pay and general ledger functions of the charity in accordance with the chart of accounts to ensure the integrity of the management and statutory accounts.
• Working alongside the People and Culture Team and the charity’s external payroll provider to receive, reconcile and input the monthly payroll into the finance system.
• Maintaining the charity’s investment positions and accurately reflecting the current market values in the accounts.
• Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly management accounts as well as the preparation of the annual accounts for inclusion within the annual report ensuring they are compliant with the FRS 102 and the Charity SORP.
• Being a key representative during the annual financial audit process including the production of auditable working papers to ensure audit completion.
• Managing the day-to-day finance function of the charity’s trading arm, Red Balloon Trading, including assisting with the quarterly VAT return and the preparation of the annual accounts.
• Maintaining the integrity of the charity ledger, ensuring all transactions reflect a true and accurate position of the charity as well as maintaining the records for creation of new funds, customers and suppliers.
• Delivering line management of two Senior Finance Officers. Providing guidance with all day-to-day activities, being a role model and mentor to aid their personal and professional development.
• Liaising regularly with external bodies as well as maintaining strong relationships with all departments within the charity.

Marine Society have an exciting new role! Help us deliver and expand our core bursary and welfare services and support the needs of seafarers. You will manage our highly renowned Slater scholarship fund and other training bursaries, together with the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and careers advice and guidance resources.

You’ll be expected to have a good understanding of seafaring training and certification requirements and have experience of working in the not-for-profit sector. A background working in the maritime sector is helpful but not essential.

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is the leading maritime charity for youth development and lifelong learning. We are currently looking for a Bursary and Welfare Manager to join our team.

About the role

This new role is to manage the bursary and welfare services of Marine Society. This requires an in depth understanding of seafarer’s needs and the training and certification they require to progress in their careers, both at sea and ashore. The manager will also oversee wider aspects of careers information and guidance and assisting with fundraising activity

Responsibilities

· Assess and process all bursary applications, including Slater Scholarships, Worcester, Hanway and Green Skills bursaries against clearly defined eligibility criteria

· Authorise the award of financial bursaries and approve beneficiary claims and expenses

· Maximise the use bursary funding and ensure successful outcomes for beneficiaries

· Identify new bursary funding opportunities and devise bids in collaboration with the fundraising team

· Manage the bursary and Coming Ashore programme restricted funds. Monitor and report on expenditure and activity

· Manage the operation of the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and ensure its sustainability

· Produce statistical reports and analysis pertaining to bursaries and welfare services for internal and external stakeholders.

· Put in place and maintain online and physical resources that provide seafarers with information, advice and guidance and supports maritime career development.

· To lead the annual Matrix accreditation process

· Work with the Digital Marketing Coordinator to ensure the effective marketing of bursary and welfare provision through a range of media and ensure the website remains up to date and relevant to seafarer needs.

· Represent Marine Society on external committees and forums that relate to welfare, including Merchant Navy Welfare Board and Nautilus Slater Management Committee

Requirements

• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications/experience
• In depth knowledge and understanding of the training needs of UK and international seafarers including their welfare and certification routes within the maritime sector both at sea and ashore
• Experience of working as team leader or manager in the not-for-profit sector
• Experience of preparing and presenting reports to management team and funders as required
• Ability to use social media and press effectively to inform and promote seafarer welfare and professional development.

GROW is entering a pivotal stage of growth. Our focus now is on strengthening team capacity, centring community voice, developing pathways to leadership and employment, deepening hyper-local networks, and contributing more visibly to the agroecology sector.

With strong financial foundations, a committed team, and a long-standing partnership with a progressive secondary school, this is a rare opportunity to lead an organisation uniquely positioned at the intersection of farming, education, and community action.

The Managing Director will provide clear strategic direction and overall leadership, ensuring GROW remains responsibly-governed, financially resilient, and grounded in its agroecological values. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, they will nurture and inspire a multidisciplinary team of 16 employees and freelancers, strengthen key partnerships, and guide the organisation’s continued development and impact.

GROW is a site-based organisation, and our farm sits at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a Managing Director who is as comfortable talking with students, volunteers and visitors as they are shaping strategy and leading the organisation’s future. This is a role for a thoughtful, adaptable and hands-on leader who can hold the big picture while staying closely connected to our farm, outdoor programmes and the communities we work alongside.

Leadership at GROW is practical, relational and rooted in place. The next, you might be at the farm stall chatting with local community members selling jars of GROW’s homemade pickles. They will guide GROW’s strategic direction while staying attentive to the daily rhythms of farm and school life that make it a vibrant place for learning, growing and connection.

An early priority for the new Managing Director will be to shape and secure support for an additional capacity-building role that complements their leadership and enables GROW to thrive in the years ahead.

1. Strategy, Governance & Risk

• Provide overall leadership and strategic development of the charity.

4. Partnerships

• Act as the main point of contact for GROW’s key partner, The Totteridge Academy (TTA), and the Academy Trust, United Learning, to ensure the partnership is effective and positive.

Sea-Changers is looking for a motivated leader to make a step change at a key point in the organisation’s journey. Sea-Changers’ vision is a future where the UK’s seas and shores are clean and healthy and marine species and habitats are protected. Our grants seek to support communities of Sea-Changers – people who care about the seas and want to take practical action to make a difference. Through our grants we enable diverse, grassroots and community-led marine conservation across the UK.

Doubling our income to over £300,000 in 2025 has catalysed Sea-Changers to move from a volunteer-led charity to a sustainable organisation with a dedicated staff team. To enable this, we are seeking to appoint our first Executive Director. This new role will work alongside the Co-Founders and our Board of Trustees and lead the transition from a volunteer-led operation to a staff-led organisation.

As a driven individual, you will build on our success — strengthen partnerships, expand our impact, and help more communities to protect the ocean. Supported by a strong group of volunteers and an impressive Board, the Executive Director will be comfortable working at both a strategic and operation level, and ‘hands on’. By the end of 2027 it is our expectation you will take full responsibility for the strategic leadership and overall operational delivery of Sea-Changers.

We’re looking for a Stories and Content Officer to join our team

Salary: Circa £32,000

Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid

Hours: Full time and permanent.  35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am - 7pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office. About the Role 

The Head of the MultiFaith Centre provides leadership, and operational management to ensure the centre is an inclusive, welcoming, and impactful space for people of all faiths and none.

This is a leadership role with genuine ownership. You will shape long-term direction, safeguard financial sustainability and represent the charity with authority, working closely with Board and Committees.You will oversee the operational delivery of the centre, ensuring plans translate into measurable progress.

Community partnerships are integral to the Multi-Faith Centre, and you will be required to maintain, strengthen and build partnerships across communities. To further the work of the Multi-Faith Centre, you will develop initiatives that promote spiritual wellbeing, interfaith connection and respectful dialogue.

A key element of the role is securing sustainable funding. As Head of the Multi-Faith Centre you will plan, identify and lead on bid writing, grant applications and income generation activities.

The breadth of the role requires energy, sound judgement and disciplined prioritisation. You will move confidently between strategy and execution, diplomacy and decision-making, commercial focus and sector representation. Key Responsibilities 

Leadership 

• Provide direction for the Multi-Faith Centre, ensuring alignment with organisational values and priorities.

• Develop and implement annual and longterm business plans.

Operational Management 

• Oversee the delivery of multifaith activities, events, pastoral support, and educational programmes.

• Lead the recruitment, development, and supervision of staff and volunteers.

• Develop income generating activities aligned with the Multi- Faith Centre’s mission.

Financial and Resource Management

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of multifaith engagement, inclusion, and community cohesion.

Main purpose of the role

The Community Leader is responsible for ensuring that the Community is living the mission of L’Arche, by providing excellent and sustainable care and support services, support for  spirituality, and engaging with our neighbours and the wider community around us.

Job description

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can work with and motivate volunteers, take a strategic view on issues affecting the Hertfordshire countryside and represent CPRE Hertfordshire at events and through media. The role also involves management of a small staff team, the oversight of our Governance including finances, reporting, budget, fundraising, communications and volunteer management.

This is an exciting time to join CPRE Hertfordshire, as the candidate will be able to build and influence the new long-term strategy and annual plan with our Board of Trustees in advance of 2027.

The Chief Executive is responsible for:

1. Contributing to and driving the implementation of CPRE Hertfordshire’s strategy.

2. Delivering effective and efficient operational performance of the charity including robust contingency arrangements.

3. Providing exceptional leadership and management of the team – both paid staff and volunteers – and further growing our volunteer cadre.

4. Delivering the marketing and communications strategy, including membership acquisition and retention communications, email and social media marketing.

5. Leading and managing local Branch campaigns and projects as agreed by the Board of Trustees. 

6. Devising and overseeing activities to increase recruitment of new CPRE members. 

7. Devising fundraising activities in line with agreed targets in collaboration with the Board of Trustees. 

8. Overseeing our planning activities, including interaction with those in national and local government roles and community groups, and ensuring the charity keeps up to date with current national and local planning policy.

9. Attending regular meetings with national CPRE and other county branches to share knowledge, formulate “one CPRE” policy positions, and participate in national campaigns.
