Background Information and Purpose of Post

Humanity & Inclusion is aiming for a step-change in our private fundraising and visibility in the UK. Securing quality media coverage and strengthening brand recognition are central to this. Our communications focus on HI’s core brand pillars – disability inclusion, emergency response, physical rehabilitation and humanitarian mine action – underpinned by our values of humanity and inclusion. Alongside working with journalists, we are building our media presence through partnerships and developing our in-house content production.

The main purpose of the post is to:

· Focus on the delivery of HI UK's media and communications strategy, supporting fundraising and brand awareness objectives.

· Secure high-quality coverage in target media through proactive story development, pitching and spokesperson support.

· Produce engaging digital and print content for UK audiences.

· Work collaboratively to support communications campaigns, partnerships and fundraising appeals.

· Monitor, analyse and report on media and communications impact.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Media relations

· Work alongside the Media and Communications Manager to develop and deliver a targeted media and communications strategy that supports fundraising and brand awareness goals.

· Build and maintain relationships with UK and international journalists and producers.

· Proactively identify and pitch story and interview opportunities to secure coverage.

· Draft and distribute press releases, statements and reactive lines, including during breaking news and emergencies.

· Prepare and brief spokespeople for media opportunities and coordinate interviews.

· Facilitate media visits to overseas programmes in coordination with HI Federation and country offices and accompany journalists on visits where required.

· Contribute to applications and pitches for media fundraising appeals and partnerships.

· Work closely with communications colleagues across the HI Federation to amplify key messages and publications and adapt international content for UK media and audiences.

Content production

· Ensure that HI UK's website is well maintained and that static webpages are up to date.

· Regularly create and publish engaging news and stories on the website and social media channels.

· Develop in-house digital content (including blogs, photo stories, infographics and video) for UK audiences

· Lead on the design, layout and copy of HI UK's printed materials, using Adobe InDesign to produce professional, branded assets such as the annual report, banners and leaflets.

· Ensure that all communications reflect HI’s values and standards on consent, safeguarding, and ethical, inclusive storytelling.

Communications

· Actively contribute to HI UK's communications planning and editorial calendar.

· Work collaboratively across HI UK to increase consistency and quality of communications on HI's brand, activities and key campaigns.

· Coordinate with the private fundraising team to maximise HI UK’s brand impact and ensure that communications content strengthens supporter engagement.

· Develop media and communications activities to complement fundraising campaigns, particularly emergency appeals.

· Ensure consistent recognition of HI UK’s key funders and partners across communication channels and branded materials.

· Contribute to the roll-out of HI's global communications campaigns in the UK

· Support HI UK’s participation in public-facing campaigns with external coalitions and partners.

Other responsibilities

· Monitor and report on media coverage, comms campaigns and social media performance.

We're looking for a strategic and relationship-focused fundraiser with experience leading complex, high-value fundraising campaigns. You'll be equally confident working with major donors, senior colleagues, Trustees and volunteer leaders. You'll combine excellent judgement with strong planning skills, bringing together people, resources and fundraising strategy to deliver ambitious campaign goals.

While initially focused on The Art Works, you will have a longer-term remit to help shape future capital fundraising priorities that emerge from our strategic ambitions. The difference you’ll make
Reporting to the Head of Development, you will:

• Provide excellent strategic management of capital fundraising campaigns across the organisation, with an immediate focus on The Art Works as well as responsibility for supporting the planning and delivery of future campaigns, including the Mound Level Galleries redevelopment and other major capital priorities.
• Contribute to the development of long-term capital fundraising strategies, campaign plans and prospect pipelines to support future organisational priorities beyond The Art Works, ensuring continuity of donor engagement and campaign readiness.
• Translate campaign strategy, timelines and gift table requirements into clear delivery plans and actions across teams.
• Monitor progress toward income and activity targets, identify variances early and recommend tactical adjustments based on internal insight and external conditions.
• Lead the development and maintenance of campaign reporting, including dashboards, risk logs, income phasing and governance papers.
• Engage directly with major donors, trusts and foundations to cultivate, solicit and steward high-value gifts, working with senior colleagues, Trustees and Campaign Board members as appropriate to maximise outcomes.
• Oversee and direct cultivation and stewardship activity across the capital campaigns team, ensuring delivery of agreed fundraising strategies and a structured and strategic approach to progressing prospects and delivering income targets, while working closely with the wider Development team to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to donor engagement.

Who we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following range of knowledge, skills, and experience:

• Significant leadership experience in capital or multi‑year fundraising campaigns with £multi-million targets.
• Experience of developing and sustaining a portfolio of high net worth prospects at 5, 6 and 7-figure levels including discreet and invite-only funders.
• Experience modelling and managing fundraising cash flow, campaign pacing and income phasing across multiple fundraising priorities, ensuring alignment with organisational and project delivery requirements.
• Ability to expand donor networks at local, national, and international level.
• Strong presentation and writing skills, with the ability to influence, articulate complex ideas and inspire support.
• Experience planning and delivering high‑quality cultivation events and donor engagements.
• Strong understanding of fundraising sector trends, major donor behaviour and the philanthropic landscape.
• Experience working closely with senior stakeholders, including Directors, Trustees, volunteer fundraising campaign board members and other high‑level advocates.
• Strong knowledge of UK charitable giving and tax considerations relevant to fundraising.
• Highly motivated, with the ability to act on initiative while exercising good judgement about when to involve others.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with confidence interpreting financial, pipeline and performance data.
• Experience using CRM/database systems such as Spektrix or similar.

It would also be great if you have

• Experience of fundraising for multiple capital projects and transitioning donor relationships between successive major campaigns. Knowledge of the arts, culture, heritage, community engagement or education sectors.
• Understanding of how environmental sustainability, climate action and low‑energy design influence contemporary philanthropic priorities.

Right now, Gaza is one of the hardest places in the world to be a child. As of July 2026, UNICEF reported that more than 21,000 children had been killed and around 44,500 injured since October 2023. Over 58,000 have lost one or both parents or primary caregivers, while around 700,000 have missed almost three years of formal education.

Established in 2024, Children Not Numbers (CNN) is a medico-legal charity committed to the health, safety, education and rehabilitation of Gaza’s children. Working alongside colleagues in Gaza and more than 100 volunteers worldwide, including surgeons, medics and lawyers, the charity provides medical care, medical evacuations, education, psychological support and international advocacy. Within its first year, CNN evacuated more than 300 children and their companions, supported over 650 children through its multidisciplinary clinical team, delivered maternal healthcare to more than 600 women, educated over 350 pupils through its primary school, provided holistic care for 71 orphans and distributed more than 1,000 food aid baskets.

Reporting to a Co-Founder and Director, the Senior Communications Manager will lead Children Not Numbers’ social media strategy and day-to-day digital communications, using ethical storytelling to grow audiences, strengthen supporter engagement and help drive fundraising. Building on the charity’s established communications strategy, the postholder will also support website content, campaigns and brand development, working closely with colleagues in Gaza, the fundraising team and external creative partners to ensure the charity’s work is communicated with accuracy, sensitivity and dignity.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the next phase of Children Not Numbers’ growth, bringing fresh ideas, creativity and strategic thinking to a charity where communications plays a central role in fundraising and advocacy. As Senior Communications Manager you will:

• Lead Children Not Numbers’ social media strategy and day-to-day digital communications, creating compelling, ethical content that grows audiences, strengthens supporter engagement and helps drive fundraising
• Line manage the Marketing & Communications Officer and Gaza-based Video Journalist, while overseeing relationships with external creative and PR partners
• Work closely with colleagues in Gaza, the fundraising team and senior leaders to develop content and campaigns that communicate the charity’s work with accuracy, sensitivity and dignity
• Support digital content creation across the charity’s website, working with an external website agency, supporting the development of campaign landing pages and ensuring consistency of messaging and brand
• Create and/or review written content, including thought leadership pieces, fundraising materials, impact reports and organisational publications
• Monitor performance and emerging opportunities, using insight and creativity to continually strengthen the charity’s communications and digital presence

Essential skills and experience:

• Experience developing and/or implementing social media strategy within a charity or NGO settings
• Track record of creating engaging digital content and using ethical storytelling to build audiences and strengthen supporter engagement
• Strong understanding of the role communications and social media play in successful fundraising, with experience developing and delivering integrated digital campaigns that support fundraising, advocacy or wider organisational objectives

• Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to tone, accuracy and detail

About the role

The Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for leading the management, optimisation and security of CARE International UK’s cloud infrastructure and enterprise systems. The role focuses on maintaining highly available and secure platforms, supporting infrastructure transformation and cloud migration activity, and ensuring effective administration of core services including Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows and Linux servers, identity services, networking, backup and disaster recovery. The postholder will work closely with the IT Manager, wider IT team and key stakeholders across the organisation, while also supporting projects, change management and technical planning.

The role requires strong technical knowledge across cloud platforms, systems administration, security and infrastructure support, alongside excellent analytical and problem-solving ability. You will need to be confident managing complex environments, improving performance through automation and standardisation, and responding effectively to incidents and vulnerabilities. Success in the role will also depend on your ability to communicate clearly, lead troubleshooting, mentor junior colleagues and take a proactive, security-first approach to continuous improvement.

About you

You will be an experienced cloud infrastructure or lead systems administrator with strong hands-on expertise across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server and hybrid environments. We are looking for someone with excellent troubleshooting, automation and security skills, including experience with Entra ID, Intune, networking, backup and disaster recovery, and PowerShell scripting. You will also bring strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to mentor others and manage competing priorities. Relevant certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps, Security+ or ITIL would be advantageous.

Job Profile

This role will lead CAFOD’s policy and advocacy work aimed at building a fairer global financial system. The post holder will have a solid understanding of contemporary global economic issues, including the global debt crisis, development finance and the workings of international multilateral organisations. Working closely with CAFOD’s overseas partners and within UK and global networks, this role will hold policy expertise on behalf of the organisation. This will involve developing policy positions and representing the organisation externally. The role will work closely with CAFOD’s government relations and campaigns colleagues to lobby decision-makers and mobilise supporters as part of our economic justice work. Sitting within the Advocacy, Policy & Campaigns team, the role is managed by the head of department.

• Leading the development and delivery of CAFOD’s global economic justice advocacy strategy 

• Working in partnership with UK and global organisations to develop evidence‑based policy positions

About the role

The Senior Individual Giving Executive (Digital Acquisition) will play a key part in the delivery of the Individual Giving programme, producing sector-leading comms and campaigns to recruit and retain supporters. You will work closely with the rest of the IG team and the Fundraising and Communications Department to deliver high-quality, data-led campaigns across a range of marketing channels. The role will include campaign delivery, budgeting, strategy and planning, managing relationships with key suppliers and driving continuous campaign improvement.

This role will focus predominantly on digital acquisition activity, with a particular focus on paid search and paid social, though there is flexibility for this to change in the future.

About you

We are looking for a passionate fundraiser with keen interest in the charity sector, particularly in humanitarian work. The ideal candidate will have a range of cross-channel experience, ideally in the charity sector and in an Individual Giving team, with a particular focus on digital acquisition. We are looking for someone with the passion to drive and improve our digital acquisition campaigns, to critically review campaigns and implement improvements, and to put their own stamp on the role.

In this role you will support and contribute to the Foundation’s growth by developing and contributing towards the effective delivery of projects in line with the mission and strategy of Shared Interest Foundation.

Responsibilities include: 

• Work with Foundation Manager and Project Officers in regions to develop potential new projects and new partners 

• Responsible for the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser incumbent to ensure the objectives of this role are fulfilled.Support the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser to deliver effective grant management, helping to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the agreed budget, timeline and project objectives. 

• Provide oversight of the restricted fundraising process and support the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser to research, write and submit accurate and persuasive funding applications.

• Lead on development and submission of high-quality project reports, with support from the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser.

Key Responsibilities
Programmes Leadership & Management (70%)
1. Lead the strategic and financial development and oversight of CBM UK’s international programme portfolio, ensuring the organisation delivers its programme strategy with maximum impact and effectiveness in alignment with CBM Global’s strategy. Support and line manage the team to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans to ensure excellence in programme funding, development and delivery.
2. Drive quality and effectiveness within CBM UK projects and across CBM Global by
a) ensuring effective coordination of tasks, forward planning of key activities and events, and providing space for collaboration, problem-solving, escalation and innovation across the portfolio.
b) identifying and improving policies and procedures that ensure proportional programmatic oversight and support complex institutional funding management.
c) supporting Programmes staff to work with country teams to pursue a localised approach to programming, drawing on the CBM Global localisation roadmap.
3. Work with Programme Funding colleagues to lead and oversee the development of strategic partnerships and packaging of programme approaches that secure institutional funding for CBM UK’s programmes, including by strengthening intelligence on donor trends and funder priorities, developing immediate responses to new opportunities as they arise in line with CBM UK’s mission.
4. Work closely with CBM UK finance, fundraising, communication teams and other CBM Global Members in creating and responding to opportunities for funding, driving growth, and promoting effective use of CBM UK’s voluntary income to leverage match funding.

Organisational leadership (20%)

Join our dynamic team as an IT and Digital Systems Officer. We are seeking an individual who is looking for a new role and enjoys a varied work environment. In this position, you will work as part of our IT-savvy External Relations team, providing support to UWC International across our IT and digital landscape, including Google Workspace. While experience with Google Workspace is preferred, we are open to candidates with an inquisitive mind who, with training, can learn new systems quickly.

This is an exciting time to join us, as we are undertaking a digital infrastructure project that includes developing a new application platform and CRM. Although you will not be managing these projects, there will be opportunities to get involved, allowing you to further develop your skills.

Currently, this is a fixed-term position related to the completion of the digital infrastructure project. However, there is potential for the role to become permanent and to grow once the new systems are fully implemented.

About the Role/Role and Responsibilities 

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Medair UK team as we are seeking a part-time Head of Operations. The post holder will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of Medair UK's finance, HR, IT and governance functions, ensuring robust systems, effective controls, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. They will support the Medair UK Director and Board of Trustees to ensure effective governance and management of the charity in accordance with best practice and ensure a sustainable operational platform is in place to support all Medair UK’s functions. The Head of Operations will contribute to organisational strategy, culture and decision-making, while also taking a practical and proactive role in the day-to-day delivery of operational activities. They will help lead, support and develop the culture of Medair UK, promoting its values and Christian-distinctiveness internally and externally. 

About you 

You will be a highly organised and experienced, strategic and hands-on operational leader who can provide strong oversight of finance, governance, HR, IT and office management within a growing charity. You will have significant experience in financial and operational management, with a sound understanding of charity finance, governance and regulatory compliance and UK employment law. You will be an effective people manager and leader, with strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills. You will be adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities, work to deadlines, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to Medair’s Christian values, mission and humanitarian purpose. 

Key Activity Areas 

Financial Management and Reporting 

• Lead the charity’s financial management, ensuring accurate records, robust controls and effective financial processes.

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, in collaboration with the Director to support strategic planning and financial sustainability.

• Manage reserves and organisational funds, ensuring effective stewardship, appropriate cost recovery, timely grant transfers and compliance with donor and regulatory requirements. 

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, financial reports and performance analysis to support informed decision-making.

• Lead the production of statutory accounts and manage the annual external audit process.

• Ensure compliance and best practice with regard to legal and other regulatory bodies, including data protection and the timely submission of accounts and other returns. 

Human Resource Management 

• Lead and oversee all HR operations, including the recruitment, onboarding and retention of staff and volunteers.

• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and organisational policies through effective management and administration of contracts, HR records, payroll, pensions and employee benefits. 

• Manage employee lifecycle processes, including inductions, appraisals, performance reviews and professional development planning.

• Maintain accurate HR records and oversee attendance, leave, sickness and other employee-related processes in line with organisational policies. 

Leadership, Governance and Organisational Development 

• Lead organisational operational planning and risk management, ensuring Medair UK has the systems, processes and resources required to deliver its strategic objectives. 

• Maintain the corporate risk register and support the Board with governance, compliance and reporting requirements. 

• Support the Director and Board of Trustees through the provision of financial, operational and governance advice, contributing to organisational effectiveness and long-term sustainability. 

• Own the organisation’s policy framework, maintaining the policy register and ensuring the timely revision, review and compliance of all policies. 

• Foster a healthy organisational culture that reflects Medair's Christian values and supports staff wellbeing, engagement and development. 

IT & Office Management  

• Oversee the IT infrastructure, managing the procurement, installation and ongoing maintenance of IT hardware, systems and software liaising with the IT department at the Medair International Global Support Office (GSO) in Switzerland as appropriate. 

• Lead the development, administration and optimisation of Salesforce , other fundraising platforms and related system integrations to support fundraising, donor engagement and organisational objectives, liaising with the IT department in GSOSwitzerland as appropriate.

• Manage the Salesforce system configuration, enhancements, user access and upgrades, ensuring the platform remains effective and reliable. 

• Drive the continuous improvement of Salesforce systems, processes and data management practices, ensuring high standards of data quality, security and operational efficiency.Implement system enhancements, streamline processes and carry out regular data quality, integrity and cleansing checks to ensure accurate, consistant and reliable data. 

• Provide training, guidance and user support on Salesforce and Campaign Monitor to maximise staff capability and system adoption. 

• Ensure a fully functioning office base which enables Medair UK to deliver its operational activities in the most efficient and effective manner. 

Tasks common to all staff  

• Act as an ambassador for Medair UK at all times when liaising externally and internally 

• Ensure consistent implementation of the Medair brand across all relevant activities 

• Record information as necessary and comply at all times with requirements for handling personal / sensitive data 

Qualifications - DESIRABLE 

• Vocational qualification in business or financial management / administration desirable 

Languages 

• Excellent English (spoken and written). 

Experience / Competencies – ESSENTIAL 

• Significant experience in financial and office administration

• Understanding of UK finance and governance and employment law 

• Proficient in finance packages, ideally Quickbooks 

• Proficient in fundraising or other database(s), ideally Salesforce and Campaign Monitor

• Experience of Microsoft Office solutions, with proficiency in Excel, Word, Internet and email use.

 Key responsibilities:
The Marketing Officer (Retention) at CBM UK is an important role in making our lifechanging work possible. The position holder is responsible for producing direct mail and digital fundraising appeals for individual supporter audiences that will elicit strong engagement and ongoing financial support.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing and across the Fundraising, Impact and Communications department, the Marketing Officer (Retention) plans and delivers 10-12 fundraising appeals per year to existing supporters. These include one off cash fundraising appeals, newsletters, and prayer diaries, which are produced through working with external copywriters, designers and printers. The role works across multiple
marketing channels, including direct mail, email, web, and telephone, towards an agreed income target.
The position holder also supports the development of fundraising plans, supporter
(customer) journeys, and the testing of new channels and messaging.
Cultivation appeals (60%)
a. Direct mail: Deliver regular and inspiring off-line direct mail campaigns to existing supporters on time and within budget. The role-holder will plan, co-ordinate and prepare fundraising appeals. This involves creating briefs, working alongside
freelance copywriters and designers, and managing print and fulfilment suppliers.
b. Email marketing: Plan, build, and send mass marketing and fundraising emails to existing supporters.
c. Online landing pages: Build landing pages (using WordPress) to support individual fundraising and offline marketing appeals. Ensuring landing pages on the CBM website are integrated with offline appeals and are engaging to existing audiences. This includes utilising Search Engine Optimisation tools aimed at maximising online traffic and income.
d. Newsletters and prayer diaries: Lead on the planning and implementation of reporting back to existing supporters about CBM UK’s work as part of their donor journey, through delivering supporter newsletters, e-news, and prayer diaries, currently produced three times per year.
e. Internal briefings: Prepare internal marketing materials for colleagues and provide briefings for supporter facing teams ahead of each appeal.
f. Agency and freelancer management: Develop excellent working relationships with existing and new agencies and suppliers, including marketing agencies, freelance copywriters and designers, print suppliers, and mailing houses. Evaluate and source new agencies and suppliers as appropriate.
High donor fundraising (20%)
a. High donor direct mail: Lead on CBM UK’s high donor fundraising programme, through planning and managing regular direct mail communications and fundraising asks to this segment of supporters, working towards achieving annual income targets.
b. Relationship development: Work alongside the Supporter Relations team to develop and carry out a donor journey for high donors, including the planning,
briefing and reporting of personalised communications, carried out by the Supporter Relations team through phone, email, and post.
Planning and reporting (10%)
a. Analysis and reporting: Review appeal performance against key performance indicators (response rates, average value, net income) to report back and provide learnings to support decision making around future activity.
b. Data and CRM handling: Develop a good knowledge of the CRM system (SalesForce), including the creation of data briefs and appeal selections through the CRM, and ensuring clear recording and reporting of direct marketing activity.
Other (10%)
a. Sector knowledge: Maintain awareness and anticipation of charity sector trends relating to direct marketing and keep abreast of competitor activities to enable CBM to respond and adapt quickly where appropriate.
b. Communication guidelines: Ensure the consistent implementation of CBMs brand, key messages and style guide in fundraising activities.
c. Compliance and data protection: Awareness of, and compliance across direct marketing, of Fundraising Regulator and Data Protection legal requirements (GDPR and PECR).
d. Collaboration and integration: Work alongside other teams, including the CBM Global Federation, to maximise collaboration opportunities and integrated working. Ensure fundraising plans are shared across departments.
