The role
The London Clinic is at a pivotal moment in the growth of its philanthropy programme, with increasing ambition and collaboration with Northwestern Medicine driving a new phase of development.
The Head of Philanthropy Operations will be central to delivering this transformation. This role provides both strategic and hands-on leadership to build the operational infrastructure, governance and processes that underpin a high-performing fundraising function in a complex healthcare environment.
Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and senior stakeholders, you will turn strategy into action, strengthening systems, improving gift management and reporting and embedding a culture of philanthropy across the organisation.
This is a role for an action-oriented individual, someone highly organised, tenacious and comfortable with ambiguity and who takes ownership and sees things through. Job Purpose
The Head of Retail will provide strategic leadership and expert insight to review, strengthen and evolve Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s retail operation during a six-month period of strategic development.
Working closely with the Director of Operations & People, the postholder will undertake a comprehensive review of the charity’s retail portfolio, identifying opportunities to maximise income, improve operational effectiveness and enhance supporter engagement.

Strategic Review and Development
Lead a comprehensive strategic review of Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s retail operations, including shop performance, operational structure, systems and processes

Benchmark retail performance against charity sector best practice and comparable retail operations

Analyse financial performance, sales data, stock flow and operational costs across the retail portfolio
Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency and customer experience
Review pricing, merchandising, stock management and donation processes to optimise retail income
Provide clear insights and reporting to inform strategic decision-making by the senior leadership team
Operational Improvement
Review existing retail processes, structures and ways of working to identify improvements

Zoe's Place Baby Hospice was founded in Liverpool in 1995 as the first hospice in the UK specifically providing for the needs of babies and younger children. Our team of specialist nurses and healthcare assistants are supported by a wide range of other healthcare professionals to provide respite care, therapies and bereavement care to babies and children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families.
In late 2024 the people of Liverpool, the North West, and even further afield helped us to raise more than £7,000,000 to secure the future of our hospice, and to build a state-of-the-art new facility in West Derby.
As work begins on our new hospice facility, our dedicated team continues to deliver specialised care from our existing site, and our team of fundraising, marketing, finance, compliance and administration professionals work hard to keep the charity operating smoothly.
This is a rare opportunity to join our dynamic and successful team as the head of our Income Generation and Marketing function. This role enhances the previous role of Head of Fundraising to be responsible for the overall income generation for the hospice, and the key role for the Head of Income Generation is to maintain a sustainable level of fundraising by increasing the income from paid placements through our relationships with Health Trusts and Councils in Merseyside and Cheshire in particular.
We are looking for someone with proven senior-level experience in income generation within the charity, health or care sector, and with a track record of growing income through commissioning or fundraising. You will need to be a strategic thinker with the confidence and compassion needed to build productive relationships and to manage our passionate and hard working team.

We are seeking to appoint a Compliance Officer for an immediate start. Reporting to the school's in-house Legal Advisor, you will ensure the school operates in full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and internal policy requirements, promoting a culture of compliance across all areas of school activity.
This role is initially offered on a one-year fixed-term contract working term-time, plus INSET days and a further three weeks during the school holidays (38 weeks). The role also has part-time support provided by the Compliance Administrator.
Salary circa £63,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is based on a full-time equivalent annual salary of £75,000.
