About Starlight
Starlight is the national charity for children's play in healthcare.
We believe that healthcare should be a more humane and child-centred experience for every child. We work across the UK to champion the importance of play during treatment, care and recovery, supporting children, parents and carers, and healthcare professionals.
Play is integral to children's wellbeing. It can help children experience greater agency, autonomy and control during healthcare, express thoughts and feelings, build resilience and make healthcare settings feel more welcoming and safe. But play is still too often overlooked or treated as an optional extra within children's healthcare.
Our ambition is to end preventable trauma in children's healthcare.
Our new strategy is taking Starlight into an important next phase. We want to build on the expertise, evidence, influence, partnerships and brand positioning we have developed over recent years and use them to create greater impact for children and families.
That means becoming a stronger voice for change: increasing understanding of children's experiences of healthcare, influencing the systems and people who shape children's healthcare, strengthening our relationships with supporters and partners, and communicating with greater clarity, consistency and impact.
Our brand and communications have an increasingly important and broad role to play. We need to tell powerful stories, challenge assumptions, engage people emotionally and intellectually, and make it clear why children's healthcare needs to change.
This is an exciting time to join Starlight and help shape how our purpose, personality and ambition are experienced by the people who matter most.
Our Strategy and the Creative Designer
Our ambition is to influence how children's healthcare is understood and experienced.
To do that successfully, we need communications and creative work that is distinctive, compelling and purposeful. We need to communicate with different audiences in ways that help them feel, understand and ultimately do something differently. As our Creative Designer, you will play an important role in making that happen.
Working as part of the Influence, Insight & Communications team and reporting to the Communications & Brand Manager, you will develop ideas and produce high-quality work across campaigns, fundraising, influencing, digital communications, events and organisational communications.
You will also help to evolve how Starlight looks, feels and expresses itself, ensuring that our creative work is distinctive, consistent and recognisably Starlight.
You will work closely with our Digital Content Creator, who leads the production of channel-native video and social content. You will contribute visual concepts, campaign identities, graphics, storyboards and brand treatments to help this content feel coherent, distinctive and recognisably Starlight.
You will help Starlight make effective use of new creative technologies, including AI, where they can improve efficiency, enable experimentation or extend our creative capability. We want to use technology to help us work smarter and create more, without compromising creative judgement, authenticity or quality.
You will work with colleagues across Starlight and, where appropriate, with external creative specialists to ensure our communications are engaging, accessible, authentic and effective.
Please apply for this role through Charity Job with your CV accompanied by a supporting statement which demonstrates how your experience matches the person specification and highlights your most relevant, recent experience for this role.
**Please include your portfolio, examples of, or links to your work**
In your application, we’d love to hear about what inspires you about Starlight’s purpose, beliefs and values with a statement that is very personal to you and gives us an insight into who you are, and how you would contribute to Starlight’s success with your experience, expertise and approach.
The role will close at 9am on Monday 28th September and we are actively recruiting for this post on a rolling basis.

This vital role within the Landmark Trust’s fundraising team focuses on delivering excellent supporter engagement across the Landmark Friends, Lundy Friends and Marisco Club supporter schemes. You will manage the day-to-day administration of these groups with the highest standards of supporter care and deliver a programme of small events and communications to engage and retain these supporters. Working closely with the Development Manager (Patrons) and other colleagues in Development, you will also support the delivery of events for the Landmark Patrons, and other supporters as needed.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in giving high-quality customer service, with strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail. You will be comfortable speaking to supporters on the phone and at in-person at events, drafting personalised letters and emails, and managing various administrative tasks. While fundraising experience isn’t essential, you will bring experience of a customer-facing or supporter-focused role, excellent organisational skills and, ideally, of working with databases. An interest in the charity sector, and heritage in particular, would be an advantage.
This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone looking to develop a career in fundraising and supporter engagement within a unique heritage organisation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporter engagement, stewardship and recruitment
- Deliver excellent supporter care, responding to enquiries, welcoming new Friends and Lundy supporters and building relationships to ensure that all supporters feel valued and appreciated, and to grow and retain the Landmark and Lundy supporter base.
- Support donor stewardship activities, including drafting timely thank-you communications, responding to email and telephone enquiries, assisting with the production of regular newsletters, and impact stories.
- Work alongside the Development Manager (Patrons) to promote all the Landmark Trust’s supporter schemes to existing Landmark contacts and new audiences.
- Work alongside the Development Manager (Patrons) and the Lundy Managing Director on Lundy supporter recruitment, promoting the Lundy schemes to the islands’ visitors, followers, and new audiences.
Event coordination and delivery
- Work alongside the Development Manager (Patrons) to:
- coordinate the regular programme of online talks for all supporter schemes
- plan, coordinate and deliver the regular programme of in person events for Landmark Friends, including site visits to Landmark properties and other places of interest.
- Support the Development Manager (Patrons) with the delivery of the Patrons event programme.
- Work within the wider Development team to assist with the planning and delivery of other supporter events, as required e.g. during the fundraising phase of a project.
- Manage event logistics including invitations, RSVPs, guest lists, internal safety and briefing materials and liaising with venues.
- Represent the Landmark Trust, with other members of the Development team, at events.
Data management and administration
- Maintain accurate supporter records within the CRM system, ensuring that data held is accurate, up to date and in line with current best practice in the sector.
- Assist with reporting on fundraising performance and campaigns.
Communications
- Support the creation of engaging content for all supporter schemes across email, digital, and print channels.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Marketing and Engagement teams to support social media posts and wider Landmark communications relating to the supporter schemes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in Marketing, and external agencies, as required, to produce the annual Landmark calendar.
General
- To work closely and harmoniously with colleagues in all respects
- To comply with the Key Principles and Behaviours of the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice, and other aspects of the Code pertinent to this role.
- To appreciate, and work within, the organisation’s culture, values and behaviours.
- To conduct all activities in a manner which promotes and enhances the Landmark Trust’s character and reputation.
- Landmark is an equal opportunities employer. All staff are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
- All staff are expected to fulfil their duties with due regard to their own health and safety and that of others.
- To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required in the post.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
No two weeks in this role look the same. One day you might be drafting a letter to persuade a government minister to champion prevention; the next, building the funder case for a piece of research that hasn’t been written yet, or turning a dense set of findings into a chart a journalist can’t ignore.
ILC’s Head of Storytelling and Impact will make sure our evidence reaches, and moves, the people who can act on it – policymakers, politicians, business leaders, journalists and the public. This role turns ILC’s research into stories and turns those stories into funding and impact.
Every role at ILC, this one especially, involves relationships with funders and commercial partners. We’re a charity that operates like a commercial organisation – this role has to make the case for our value, not just communicate our findings.
You’ll also, sometimes, be putting our evidence in front of people who would rather not hear it – industries with a vested interest, politicians with other priorities, or audiences who assume ageing isn’t their problem. Part of the job is being comfortable with that, and persuasive anyway.
We want someone who thinks like a publisher and a marketer as much as a press officer – curious about formats, protective of ILC’s funding, and unafraid to pick up the phone to a politician.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
Closing date: Friday 9th October at 9am
About the role
We’re looking for a creative, passionate, skilled content creator and campaigner, to produce content for our social media channels which informs, persuades and mobilises our audiences to take action. Reporting to our Social Media Campaigns Manager, you will create campaigning content which will drive change in the UK, making our country fairer, more respectful and more sustainable.
This role will have a particular focus on producing video content – both as a presenter and editor. We are looking for creators who are experienced in producing content for Instagram Reels and TikTok, knowledgeable about social media trends, comfortable on camera and adept at producing vertical video — and want to use those skills to make a difference on the biggest issues impacting people’s lives across the country.
This job is for you if you’re passionate about making the country fairer, more respectful, and more sustainable – and have the skills and drive to create content and develop social media-led campaign tactics which make people want to get involved, join us and take action. We’re looking for someone who has both the content creation skillset and knowledge of current affairs to translate complex issues into entertaining content. You will have a collaborative approach, be able to build strong relationships across teams and be comfortable working in a fast, reactive environment, where content is often developed, crafted and published in response to breaking news.
There are no formal education requirements for this role. As long as you can show us that you have the skills, we don’t mind where you got them from! To be successful in your application you must meet the requirements of this role and complete the task below which are part of the selection criteria. Without completion of this task your application cannot be considered.
Your background and experience
We are looking for someone who understands our organisation and theory of change, and shares both our passion for great content and our determination to change the country for the better.
You will have worked at or with similar organisations or built your own profile creating content around social and political issues. You’ll have experience creating both graphic and video content and knowledge of the design and editing tools needed to create social media content.
You will be a sharp copywriter, skilled in writing social native copy and have excellent knowledge of social media trends. You will likely have experience presenting video content – or are keen to develop this skillset and create more content on-camera.
You will have a keen interest in social media, stay across the ever changing social landscape, have lots of content creators you follow and can draw ideas and inspiration from, and believe in the ability to use social media to genuinely change minds and make people take action which matters.
You’ll be passionate about campaigning and have a sharp understanding of the power of social media to mobilise large numbers of people in support of campaigns. As part of this team you’ll regularly be involved in developing campaign tactics as well as content, and helping to upskill the wider team on the opportunities that social media campaigning presents.

A Britain where we all get a fair chance in life and where the place we were born, or the area we live in, doesn’t decide that chance. Where we protect our planet and hold those in power to account for doing the same, and where we are treated, and treat one another, with respect.
In the space of a week, millions of supporters could be campaigning on anything from protecting our NHS and stopping cuts to Universal Credit, to saving local green spaces and protecting our democracy.
