Working within the Fundraising & Communications Team, the Senior Fundraiser will develop and secure income from a range of funding sources including trusts and foundations, statutory funders, lottery distributors, corporate foundations and philanthropic supporters.

While strong trusts and foundations experience is essential, we are looking for someone who can work flexibly across income streams, identify opportunities, build relationships and pursue the strongest prospects wherever they arise. This breadth is important in a small team, where fluidity and responsiveness help maximise income and ensure we follow the most promising routes to success.

About the Role
 
As Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of existing customer accounts across the West Midlands, Wales and Southwest region, while also identifying and securing new business opportunities.
 
This is a highly client-facing position, with regular travel across your territory and approximately two to three days each week spent meeting customers and prospects. The sales cycle is consultative and relationship-led, requiring patience, credibility and a long-term approach to business development.
 
You will be responsible for customer retention while building a strong pipeline of new opportunities and contributing to regional growth targets.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Manage and develop relationships with existing customer accounts
• Maintain a minimum customer retention rate of 95%
• Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across your region
• Deliver against annual new business growth targets
• Create and manage a robust sales pipeline through consistent prospect engagement
• Conduct regular customer visits and account reviews
• Present to senior stakeholders, decision-makers and prospective customers
• Use CRM systems to track opportunities, forecast income and monitor performance

• Successful experience in sales, business development, account management or partnership management

Working with our platform you’ll play an important role in supporting donors, fundraisers and charity partners, helping to ensure they have a seasmless and postitive experience.  

You’ll respond to enquiries, assist with platform related questions and work closely with colleagues to deliver an excellent service that helps charities raise more via the platform. 

 Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional support to donors, fundraisers and charity clients via phone, email and Zendesk providing timely and professional support.
• Support charity clients with onboarding and navigating features to maximise fundraising success.
• Resolve client issues effectively while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. 
• Maintain detailed records of client interactions using internal CRM systems.
• Escalate complex issues to relevant departments and follow up to ensure a resolution.
• Assist clients with product information, troubleshooting and service related queries.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve client experience and resolve recurring issues affecting donors, charities and fundraisers.
• Handle sensitive enquiries with empathy and professionalism, turning negative experices into positive outcomes.

Major Donor Manager (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £45,600 – £48,000
Location: Hybrid, London (ideally once a week, but can be very flexible)

About the role

This role does not hold an active portfolio of existing donors but focuses on strategic leadership, mentorship, high-value asks and team enablement to maximise collective performance.
