About the role
This is a brand-new role at Shelter, which will give the post-holder the opportunity to head up a new function which is key to support our bold ambitions to grow high value income and provide best in class donor stewardship and experience. In this vital cross collaborative High Value Partnerships position, the role will involve leading and developing our team of subject matter experts in Prospect Research and Development, Fundraising Information and Cases for Support and High Value Events. You will be ensuring all three streams are working in a collaborative, supportive and dynamic manner, underpinning high value income growth and first-class supporter experience.
Furthermore, you will champion and embed best practice in high value fundraising operations, working to develop processes and systems that support fundraising and ensure that fundraisers are equipped with the tools and assets they need to be able to fundraise efficiently and effectively through every step of the donor journey. You will also oversee the implementation and development of a high value fundraising information and stewardship strategy and will ensure the effective translation of organisational plans and work into creative support approaches and communications. You will play a key role in developing and delivering our high value supporter experience, ensuring our donors understand the impact of their donation and feel inspired to donate again.

About the team
The newly formed High Value Operations & Stewardship team will sit in the High Value Partnerships (HVP) sub-directorate which is part of Shelter’s Income Generation directorate. It’s an award-winning team that is responsible for all areas of high value income generation across philanthropy, trusts and foundations, statutory funders, corporate partners and legacies to power Shelter’s fight for home.
Shelter’s High Value Partnerships (HVP) team is an energetic group of around 50 talented professionals who collectively raise over £30 million each year through voluntary and statutory income. By harnessing the support, networks, influence, and expertise of our supporters, the team plays a crucial role in powering our mission to fight for home.

Advisers in this organisation negotiate with creditors directly on behalf of clients; set up manageable and sustainable repayment arrangements and provide full casework services.
As a Specialist Debt Adviser you will hold a valid level 3 accredited qualification in Debt Advice (accredited through CMA, IMA, Wiser Adviser or similar) or alternatively Generalist Adviser certificate (Citizens Advice or similar), and Ideally a CertMAP. You'll also have a thorough understanding of debt advice model with proven casework skills and experience of dealing with complex and challenging cases. You will also have supervisory responsibilities which will cover training and development, monitoring from a compliance and quality perspective, and a strong coaching capability.
You will have a minimum of 2 years of experience In providing comprehensive accredited debt advice. Your experience in executing debt solutions such as (and not limited to) DMP, Bankruptcies, DRO, Breathing Space, Write Off, and undertaking income maximisation solutions such as charitable grants, issuing food and fuel vouchers, Uswitch checks and DHP and other benefit entitlement checks/referrals etc.
At a personal level you will also need to demonstrate resilience and the ability to, understand and empathise with clients from diverse range of backgrounds and disadvantaged groups living in the community, in particular barriers faced by over-indebted and financially excluded communities. You will also need to demonstrate a high standard of numeracy and computer skills, specifically IT skills with a strong command of the Microsoft Office suite with an ability to understand and analyse complex financial and other numerical information.

The Recovery House is a brand new, exciting and innovative service for Birmingham Mind and is an opportunity to create a flagship standard of support and care for those in mental health crisis. The Service Manager is pivotal to the creation of this new service, helping to shape our offer and deliver the best service possible.
As the Service Manager you will use your skills and knowledge to lead a team of 16 to deliver the service for adults in Birmingham and Solihull. The Service Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the delivery and culture of a new service, and start people’s recovery from crisis, ensuring the best outcomes.
The Recovery House will provide those in crisis with a safe, secure and welcoming environment to support the de-escalation of crisis. The House will be open to new service users at all times and will provide a homely environment, allowing people to retain independence, whilst receiving person centred and appropriate support.
The service will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing vital support to people in need of short-term crisis accommodation, of up to 7 nights.
The service is a partnership with the NHS, who will have a staff presence at all times, and will build on the range of strong collaborations we have with the public sector.

As a Trainee Debt Adviser you will be responsible for managing an ongoing debt caseload, whilst maintaining weekly client appointment targets. You will work closely with the other team members to meet funding and contractual targets, maintain quality standards and also maintain training and development targets.
You will provide comprehensive, full range of debt advice in line with Financial Conduct Authority and Debt Advice Quality Framework by using your interpersonal skills to explore, listen and understand complex problems as they affect each individual and tailor approach to advice accordingly.

The Manna Day Centre is a drop-in Centre for homeless and vulnerably housed single men and women. It is run by a team of project workers, under the Director, who are responsible for its smooth operation. About the Role
Through line management of your team and in collaboration with partners, you will ensure that the Youth Zone is accessed by all young people who need it the most.
