We’re looking for a part-time Trusts Fundraising Officer to contribute their skills, experience, and personality to add value to our Trusts team within the Fundraising department at Blesma, The Limbless Veterans.
This home-based role is now available due to the current post holder moving on to new pastures. The Trust team has had incredible success in recent years, which we are eager to sustain and grow. The successful candidate will provide support to the Trusts Fundraising Manager and work alongside a fellow part-time Trusts Fundraising Officer within this ambitious team.
The role is a varied one, focusing on all aspects of the funding cycle – from identifying opportunities and building relationships, to writing compelling applications and providing high level stewardship. The team works collaboratively across the Association to ensure Blesma’s programmes and services can continue to help limbless veterans and their families.

The postholder will draw upon existing networks to expand Pure’s influence and identify opportunities, leading the bidding lifecycle, ensuring all submissions are accurately costed, high quality, and effectively project‑managed through to submission.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
Essential: GCSEs level 4+ in Maths & English.
Desirable: Qualification in business or project management.
Essential experience:
•Minimum 2 years business development experience within the Greater Manchester health, social care, VCSE, or supported employment ecosystem.
•Understanding of Greater Manchester devolution priorities and how they influence commissioning priorities, for local health and care agendas
• Bid writing for health/social care contracts (£500,000+)
•Contract negotiation with local authorities/NHS partners
• Social value commitments and ethical practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strategic thinking, analysis and project management.
Desirable experience:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Senior business development role within the Greater Manchester health, social care, VCSE, or supported employment ecosystem.
• Existing relationships with commissioners, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, local authorities, Integrated Care Systems (NHS GM), or social care providers.

Role Purpose

Key Responsibilities
Income Generation & Fundraising Strategy
Develop and implement a rolling 3-year fundraising strategy.
Identify, research and secure grant funding from trusts, foundations and statutory sources.
Prepare compelling funding applications and impact reports.
Develop individual and community fundraising initiatives.
Explore corporate partnerships and sponsorship.
Grants & Donor Engagement
Maintain positive relationships with funders, donors, and supporters.
Support the development of collaborative projects and joint funding opportunities.

Marketing & Communications
Oversee website content and development.

Person Specification
Proven track record in grant applications & fundraising.
Strong written communication skills.
Experience in charity marketing or communications desirable.

Comfortable working closely with trustees and senior staff.

The postholder will build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing supporters and contribute to the development of all areas of fundraising.
