Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people
Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including a Lunch Club, social sessions and exercise groups. We work with older people to:

We are seeking a Temporary Support Worker for the KLS Elders Programme to assist during the summer months. Responsibilities include supporting minibus transport, aiding in the lunch club and social activities, and contributing to the overall well-being of our elderly members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Escort and assist elders during minibus transport.
- Support social sessions and the lunch club.
- Help set up and pack away rooms for activities.
- Assist with day trips and other duties as needed.
- Work closely with the Elders Team and volunteers.

The Welfare Adviser will provide high quality specialist welfare benefits and housing advice, information and guidance to our service users, referring them internally and externally for additional advocacy and support as required, following organisational policies and procedures, and ensuring fulfilment of regulatory compliance with our Advice Quality Standard (AQS) accreditation, meeting the standards of quality in the delivery of advice services as required. Social Prescribing Advice Link Worker
Location: Bromley by Bow and GP practices across the Primary Care Network
Job Type: Part time, 28 hours per week (4 days a week)

Our client is working with the Primary Care Network (PCN), Bromley by Bow Health & Stepney Health CIC, to improve access to social welfare advice and help meet the needs of some of the most vulnerable patients and families locally.
The role will provide social welfare advice to people referred into the Centre’s Social Prescribing service. The role will focus on what matters to the individual and take a holistic approach, providing welfare benefits, housing, debt, food and energy advice.
The Social Prescribing Advice Link Worker will refer to agencies at a specialist level including immigration, legal advice and debt as well as support individuals to access a range of services and activities in their local communities.
The role will build collaborative relationships with GP practice staff, including the delivery of social welfare advice training to enable them to identify and connect people experiencing hardship with the support they need to improve their circumstances and prevent problems developing into issues of hardship and crisis.
The role will help shape the Centre’s Social Prescribing service so that it reflects the changing environment and helps reduce health inequalities locally.

The Culturally Appropriate Advocacy Service provides Advocacy for racially minoritised people (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people) in Greater Manchester who are being treated in a psychiatric inpatient site or who are at risk of detention under the Mental Health Act.
We aim to address racial disparities experienced in mental health care through Advocacy. We know that people from racially minoritised backgrounds are more likely to be detained under the Mental Health Act and experience worse outcomes when accessing care. Our Advocates work in partnership with the people they support and take their side. We promote social inclusion and social justice through Advocacy.
We want to proactively support our Advocate team and are introducing independent group supervisions based on the feedback from our Advocates. The Group Supervision Facilitator will facilitate monthly 1.5-hour group supervision sessions for a team of Culturally Appropriate Independent Advocates.

Campbell Rd Young Peoples service provides support and housing for 55 young people in Tower Hamlets that are either leaving care of affected by youth homelessness. The Support Worker role will be to manage a caseload of approx 7-10 young people .You will be expected to deliver positive outcomes for all our young people and support them to reach independence, keep safe and maintain their tenancy's. Aside from support workers delivering support there is a strong element of housing management associated wit this role, for example managing rents, raising/monitoring repairs and health and safety.

What you'll do:
Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers
Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
Supporting key customers to set personalised goals in the form of a Support Plan

Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of 'positive risk taking'

- You are responsible in planning appropriate intervention to modify and resolve the behaviour
- You require superb interpersonal and relationship skills and must have the capacity to handle psychologically behavioural changes
