National charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, which trains dogs to transform the lives of deaf people, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Dog Training Instructor in and around the Newcastle and Morpeth area.
What you will be doing
Working as a Dog Training instructor you will be fully responsible and accountable for overseeing the entire training lifecycle from puppyhood to the moment they qualify as a Hearing Dog. This is a highly rewarding role where you can directly impact a person’s life.
The location will be community based in and around Newcastle and Morpeth.
What you will need to succeed
- We are looking for a self-motivated and positive individual with practical and theoretical experience in dog training and behaviour, with skills in teaching, mentoring and coaching people.
- The ability to develop and train dogs using the skills of our volunteers is essential so we are looking for someone who finds value in working with both people and dogs and is driven by the overall goal to help train more dogs for deaf people.
- You will need resilience and a high degree of efficiency to be a successful Dog Training Instructor.
- Preferably be educated to degree level or equivalent in the relevant subject area.

Volunteer Coordinator
Location: Birmingham
Place of work: CASBA’s brand new accessible offices in Selly Oak. With the agreement of your line manager, you will use the office, home, and other suitable places to work from while ensuring you appropriately meet and engage with clients and other relevant organisations.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 30 or 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. We are interested to hear from applicants who are looking for either part time or full-time work.

Family Liaison Worker (Children) X 2 – Promise Inclusion Job Specification
Reporting to: The Family Liaison Team Leader and Chief Executive and accountable to the Board of Trustees
Purpose of job: To provide a direct service to carers of children with learning disabilities and/or those with an autism spectrum condition (ASC) and their families, who are members of Promise Inclusion or referred by Bracknell/Wokingham Borough Councils or by other agencies. This service will include:
· Providing relevant information
Home visiting and support
· Providing support to carers and families in meetings
· Planning, organising and hosting events as required
Hours: 15 hours per week per post over 2-3 days (Monday-Friday)
Location: Promise Inclusion office in Wokingham and other locations as required. One post covers Bracknell and one covers Wokingham
Salary: £23,660 pro rata per annum (based on 35 hour working week)
Funding: These two posts are currently funded for 2 years, but further funding will be sought
Main duties include:
- To communicate information on benefits and services to carers and families of children and young people with a learning disability and/or ASC by telephone, email or in person.
- To visit members/carers in their own homes and to build close relationships with those that need extra support. (Home visits can be via Zoom or Teams, if necessary or required).
- To provide emotional support to carers and families of children with a learning disability and/or autism.
- To provide support to carers and families in meetings as required.
- To maintain a library of information and knowledge to be able to give up-to-date information on topical and relevant issues.
- To assist in planning, organising and hosting events for carers as required including our monthly Carers’ Group and respite events for carers.
- To assist in planning, organising and running information workshops for carers.
- To monitor the outcomes for carers of the work carried out with them and collect feedback.
- To liaise and work with the Promise Inclusion Family Liaison Team.
- To liaise with Children’s Services and other services at Bracknell Forest/Wokingham Borough Council, Addington/Kennel Lane School and other schools.
- To provide reports on a regular basis to the Board of Trustees and other agencies as required.
- To attend other meetings as required.
- To develop and maintain good partnership working with key organisations and partners (Royal Mencap Society, statutory, voluntary and community groups) and the general public.
- To research/keep up-to-date with local and national issues/matters of relevance to clients (e.g. legislative, service provision changes, support available etc.), communicating this as necessary.

About this role:
As a member of YVC’s team of Health and Wellbeing Facilitators you will work closely with colleagues from South Tyneside’s Physical Health Hub, and Primary Care Mental Health Team to support people in South Tyneside, in particular those with learning disabilities and those who require support with their mental health, to meet their wellbeing and physical health needs.

· Take part in relevant supervision, support and training to ensure YVC deliver a consistent and high-quality service.
· You will promote mental and physical health and wellbeing by:
o Getting to know people who access our service and supporting them
to identify the health issues that matter most to them.
o Linking the person with their GP / Primary Care Health Hub for their annual health check/ mental health program.
o Helping people identify and understand their own health, wellbeing and social needs and empowering people around accessing reasonable adjustments to address their barriers to services.

· Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the service, including the collection of case studies, data and by contributing to feedback and evaluation sessions with the aim of improving the service.
· Assist in the promotion of the service and when necessary, work outside normal office hours. Be prepared to travel within Tyne & Wear.
· Be an active participant in the wider YVC team and seek to work with all YVC colleagues to deliver our strategy, maintain quality and embed the values of the organisation.

Your role
As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Hitchin shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. If you love cooking, people and thinking on your feet, then this is the management job for you. Boaz is a small independent charity that over 100 people a week call their "workplace". Four days a week around 30 people come to the farm to "work and learn together" doing a whole range of horticulture and other jobs such as cooking, craft, animal care and woodwork. As Deputy Manager you will help keep the fun levels high, the stress levels low, and people working harmoniously together. Four days each week you'll lead on cooking a simple vegetarian meal for everyone on site, plus be involved in the general day to day management of the charity. But don't take my word for it, swing by for a coffee and a walk around to get a feel for things BEFORE you apply. Based in a converted cow barn this is a MARMITE job, and we all know that people either love or don't love that spread.
It's a small team, only two other full time staff members working alongside you, but over 50 volunteers coming and going each week and over 30 adults with learning disabilities who spend half days or several days a week working at the project. Each day starts with some "listening and prayer time" where people are encouraged to share and receive prayer if they request it. Then some scripture is shared followed by remembering everything people are grateful for. As Deputy Manager you would lead these sessions when the General Manager is on leave or be on a rota system.
The role is based on-site, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 4:30.
You get 20 days holiday a year plus Public Holidays to start with, plus additional days for long service.
Pay will be in the range of £28 to £30,000 p/a depending on experience.

Summary of the role
Your Voice is an NHS funded project that brings together a network of self-advocacy organisations across the South West The network aims to make sure that people with a learning disability and autistic people (Experts by Experience) have a voice when it comes to planning and delivering health services. We have set up a network of self-advocacy groups across the South West, bringing together people from different groups to have a really strong voice on health issues and other important matters. The team comprises of one Coordinator, three Experts by Experience with a learning disability or autism and one Marketing Coordinator.
Job Purpose: To coordinate the Your Voice project and work with the team to continue to build and develop a strong self-advocacy network across the South West of England. This will include managing three staff members with lived experience of learning disability or autism, and working with NHS England and Improvement to feedback key themes and to recommend and promote change.
Hours and pay:
Hours: 16 per week
Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2025.
Pension: IG operates the NEST pension scheme and will contribute 3% subject to qualifying status
Salary: £27,514 FTE, £14.11 per hour
