JRCT is a grant-making Quaker Trust that supports people who are passionate about making a positive difference; whether they are advocating for some of the most vulnerable people in our society, promoting nonviolent responses to conflict, or taking steps towards an environmentally sustainable future.

Every year JRCT makes grants for all kinds of charitable work, from grassroots community groups to well-established charities working to build a peaceful and just world. We aim to be a responsive and supportive funder, working to strengthen the hands of people who are tackling the root causes of conflict and injustice.

In 2019, the Trust announced plans to significantly increase annual grant spending to over £10 million per year for the next ten years. The Trust further increased its grant-making in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Since then, we have grown our programme staff team in order to better support increased grant portfolios. 

Having publicly recognised the ways in which the Trust benefited from or contributed to oppressive practices including enslavement, indenture, colonialism, and Apartheid, JRCT has hired a Head of Reparations and made a commitment to a multi-million programme of reparative justice, the first phase of which will take place between 2026 and 2029. 

Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust currently runs five grant programmes: Peace and Security, Rights and Justice, Power and Accountability, Sustainable Future, and Northern Ireland as well as a Grassroots Movements pilot fund.

About the Role

As Executive Assistant, Reparations, this role supports the Head of Reparations and enables the smooth administrative and support aspects of the Head of Reparations’ affairs.

You will support the Head of Reparations in the effective execution of the reparations projects, which will include coordinating project activities, maintaining meticulous project and workplan documentation, managing communication within the reparations team, with the wider JRCT team, and with external stakeholders. Your role will also extend to scheduling and organising meetings, maintaining clear records, and aiding in the organisation of project tasks. You will work in an administrative capacity to ensure that project deadlines are kept and deliverables are met. As the reparations projects will involve extensive work with stakeholders in Africa and thew Caribbean, familiarity with African and Caribbean cultures, as well as relevant multi-lingual and / or multi-cultural competencies will be essential. 

This is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance once or twice a week. The position is fixed-term until  April 2029, with a salary of £47,814 per annum.

The role is for 35 hours a week, and we are open to flexible working patterns.  We try to schedule meetings to accommodate caring responsibilities. Someone working remotely would be required to come to the York office for up to four days per month and also travel to meetings with some occasional overnight stays.

The Referrals Coordinator supports women seeking asylum to access Women for Refugee Women’s (WRW) activities and the wider support they need. You will often be the first person a woman speaks to at WRW, so warmth, care, and trust are central to this role.

You will oversee referrals both into and out of WRW, ensuring women are supported to move safely and confidently between services. The role combines community‑based outreach, volunteer support, and clear administrative work, as part of a supportive hybrid team.

We are looking for a person with a personal commitment to the mission of the Trust and capacity to undertake the administrative duties for the Rights and Justice programme. They will bring experience of working in/with voluntary organisations and knowledge of issues relevant to JRCT’s Rights and Justice programme, in particular racial justice and migrant justice.

We seek a thoughtful, strongly motivated, accountable, energetic, and congenial individual with excellent organisational and communication skills. The work is highly detail-oriented and requires the ability to use initiative and anticipate outcomes, multi-task and work flexibly.

Salary: £33,475 per annum (pro-rated for part time hours). We are an accredited member of the Living Wage Foundation.

Location: Hybrid. (Hybrid approach with some working from home days. Regular travel to client sites as well as infrequent travel to Unseen’s head office in Bristol).

Purpose of the role:

This role is key in ensuring effective delivery of a range of business services to clients. Working within a small, dynamic team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring our range of services focused on worker wellbeing are delivered professionally and sensitively. This is an exciting role that sits at the heart of Unseen’s response to worker exploitation, engaging with clients, interviewing workers at diverse client sites across the UK, supporting colleagues on providing allegation management and business portal services for clients as well as supporting on delivering the Seasonal Worker Scheme Support Line.

The role requires a professional individual who is a confident communicator, self-motivated, displays empathy and is an independent critical thinker.  Experience working in a corporate environment or with business clients is highly desirable, along with experience transforming data into actionable insights for a range of stakeholders, large-scale project management, and the application of auditing principles or experience visiting labour-based sites.

Knowledge of how to engage with vulnerable individuals and businesses of all sizes is a strong advantage, particularly within the construction, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors.

The Operations and Development Manager is a senior leadership role at AALT, responsible for ensuring the organisation’s operational effectiveness, financial stability, and long-term sustainability.

They will join at a pivotal and exciting moment for the organisation, as AALT prepares to open the Anti-Apartheid Legacy Centre (AALC) at Penton Street and transition into a newly restored and developed building, establishing operations and embedding a resilient and ambitious model for the future.

Purpose of the Role

The Director of Income role is responsible for leading our income generation. Our fundraising strategy is to significantly grow and further diversify our income, with a particular focus on corporate and trading income. The postholder will coordinate our fundraising activity, lead our Outreach team and work closely with the CEO to drive forward our income generation so we can safely deliver our ambitious strategy over the next 5 years. 

In particular, the postholder will be responsible for coordinating and developing our income function, converting our strategic fundraising objectives into operational plans, managing the Head of Outreach and representing the organisation externally. However, the role is not solely governance and leadership - we need a do-er who is comfortable working in a small team and sharing responsibilities, including submitting fundraising proposals and taking responsibility for our reporting. They will work closely with the CEO, Director of Programmes, Head of Outreach and Communications and Fundraising Coordinator to ensure we are communicating our value proposition coherently and effectively to the important stakeholders that make our work possible.

We do not see this as a traditional fundraising director role - we are looking for a skilled generalist who can meet us where we are at by working confidently across Trusts and Foundations, statutory grants, corporate partnerships and traded services simultaneously. We are a small charity with 10 staff, so while we are looking for a decision-making and accountable leader, the postholder will be expected to support colleagues across the organisation. They will have a collaborateive spirit and the emotional intelligence to thrive in a small team.

Job Summary

The Development Manager will be a dynamic and experienced fundraiser with strong technical skills in grant and funding solicitation, management and stewardship across Crisis Action’s current donor targets including major foundations, governments, and High Net Wealth Individuals (HNWI). They will serve as the anchor of a newly configured fundraising team designed to support Crisis Action to nurture its existing donors and secure the next generation of support for its ground-breaking work.

This role is pivotal in ensuring excellence in our outreach, proposals, reporting and communication to drive resource mobilisation that is essential for the organisation’s financial sustainability at a time when our distinct model and way of working is needed more than ever.

Principal responsibilities

Donor engagement and communications 

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day engagement with current and prospective foundation, government and individual donors by members of the Crisis Action team
• Represent the organisation vis-à-vis donor representatives 
• Support HNWI donor benefits structure and cultivation plans
• Prepare compelling and timely donor reports, donor updates, letters of receipt and other outreach materials in collaboration with finance and campaign teams.

Grant management and oversight 

• Ensuring timely and skilled drafting, consultation and sign off of high-quality grant proposals 
• Timely acknowledgement of all contributions and compliance with donor requirements
• Preparation of high-quality proposal budgets and financial reports for donors in compliance with grant specifications and deadlines, in close cooperation with the Finance Team

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fundraising, donor relations, or development within the non-profit or international advocacy sector
• A proven track record of engaging with foundations and government officials to secure and manage grants
• Demonstrated ability to forge new donor partnerships, and a track record of bringing in new revenue
• Strong understanding of government and foundation funding landscapes with at least some familiarity with differences between them and the stewardship of major gifts from individual giving

Salary & Benefits 

Salary: We have set bands for the salary range for all positions at Crisis Action. The baseline of our salary range for this position is £40K per annum. 

Benefits: 25 annual leave days (30 days after 3 years). Up to 6% contribution to pension. 3-month long service leave after 6 years and one-month sabbatical leave in year 10. CA additionally offers an annual inflationary increase, and 2% salary increase in year 2, 4 and 8 subject to availability of funds.

Terms

The role is a full-time (five days per week) on a fixed-term contract to 31 December 2026. The annual salary is £32,696 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 40% of their working hours from the London office and the rest of the week from home. Forensic Architecture (FA) is an internationally recognised research agency based at Goldsmiths, University of London. FA is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and values‑aligned Development Lead to play a pivotal role in establishing our individual giving and donor engagement programme at a critical moment of organisational growth.

Executive Head of Communications, Marketing and Campaigns 

War Child UK 

Circa £75,000 per annum

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Engagement, this is a pivotal new role at a defining moment for the organisation, as War Child UK launches a new strategy and refreshed brand. 

You will lead a team of experts across marketing, communications, digital, press, content and advocacy, shaping how War Child UK engages supporters, partners and decision-makers. You will oversee the delivery of high impact campaigns and communications on the worst crises affecting children and across a portfolio of bold music, art, gaming and corporate partnerships and events. 

You will develop an audience-led communications, brand and marketing strategy that drives engagement, income and influence, ensuring campaigns and advocacy are fully integrated and mutually reinforcing. 

This role combines creativity with strategic judgement, providing senior leadership on external positioning and reputational risk and crisis communications advisory – and shaping how War Child UK shows up in the world, while enabling a motivated, ambitious team to perform at its best. 

About you 

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on leader with: 

• Strategic communications leader with a proven track record of delivering integrated, audience‑first communications and marketing strategies that drive engagement, income and influence in complex, fast‑moving environments. 

• Expert in narrative, brand and advocacy, with strong experience shaping external positioning, leading high‑impact campaigns, and using communications to advance political advocacy and public change. 

• Insight‑led and externally focused, skilled in using audience insight, data and cultural, media and political trends to inform strategy, prioritisation and decision‑making. 

• Credible senior adviser and collaborator, with strong influencing skills, experience advising leadership on external positioning and reputational risk, and the ability to build effective relationships across teams and with external partners. 

• Motivational leader and executor, able to build and manage high‑performing teams, deliver high‑quality content and campaigns, balance creativity with discipline, protect workload and wellbeing and uphold best practice in EDI, safeguarding and ethics.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an operations professional who shares EJF’s commitment to environmental justice and is ready to take on real responsibility across a fast-growing global non-profit organisation.

As Operations Officer, you will play a hands-on role in keeping EJF's international operations running smoothly across 16 countries on four continents, with a particular focus on our five European offices.

Your remit will be broad. From ensuring offices function efficiently and IT systems operate safely, to providing HR support to line managers and coordinating across teams in multiple time zones, no two days will look the same. Over time, you will develop a working knowledge of the full operational landscape of an international NGO, building skills and experience across functions that few comparable roles can offer.

You will bring at least three years of experience in an operations, coordination, or administrative role, ideally in an international or multi-site environment. You will also have strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

This is a role for someone who takes pride in getting things right, thrives on variety, and wants to contribute meaningfully to an organisation working on some of the most urgent environmental and human rights issues of our time.

Key responsibilities

• Operations, Systems & IT Support: This includes user onboarding; troubleshooting technical issues with our hardware or software (calling in external support when needed); managing access and settings; and supporting digital security procedures.

• HR & People: This includes implementing recruitment and induction processes; maintaining staff records and ensuring timely staff reports and appraisals; supporting effective transactional HR services across European offices; and answering ad hoc staff queries.

• Office management: The role will ensure that offices in the UK, Belgium, France, Germany and Spain run efficiently and provide staff with excellent places to work and collaborate.

• General Administration & Organisational Support: This will include managing shared inboxes and calendars; supporting significant procurements and associated financial processes; maintaining institutional registrations and log-ins with relevant entities; implementing systems and processes across the team as required; organising all-staff and management team meetings; and providing ad hoc support for events and other administrative tasks.

Essential skills and experience

• Demonstrable commitment to EJF's vision, mission and values and a determination to change the world for the better.

• At least three years’ experience in an operations, coordination, or administrative role, ideally within an international or multi-site environment.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to juggle competing priorities and deliver consistently to deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the confidence to liaise with colleagues, partners and suppliers across diverse cultures and time zones.

• Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information, including HR and personnel matters.

• A proactive, hands-on, problem-solving mindset, with strong attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of tasks from start to finish.

• Confident IT user, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace and the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.

• A team player who collaborates effectively across functions, geographies and time zones, and who is comfortable supporting colleagues at all levels of the organisation.

• Fluency in English.

Desirable skills and experience

• Experience working across more than one operational discipline (HR, IT, facilities, finance).

• Professional-level French, German or Spanish.

• Experience working in a non-profit, international NGO or other mission-driven organisation.
