Interim Senior Admin Officer (Part-time, Temporary) £15–£18 per hour | 20 hours per week | Remote or Newcastle upon Tyne

My client is a Black-led charity with a long track record of supporting Black and racialised women and children affected by domestic abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls. They are entering a busy period of growth and transition and are now seeking an Interim Senior Admin Officer to step in quickly, stabilise systems and support the organisation through change.

The role As Interim Senior Admin Officer, you will play a central role in ensuring the organisation runs smoothly, safely and compliantly. You will take stock of existing systems, put clear processes in place and provide practical support to staff and trustees during a period of onboarding and recruitment.

You will also work closely with the Admin Officer and Receptionist, offering day-to-day guidance, support and coaching to help them deliver to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include

• Reviewing and improving operational systems across administration, record-keeping, filing, archiving and IT
• Leading supplier and contract management, including reviewing value for money and setting up clear contract processes
• Supporting recruitment activity and onboarding of new staff and trustees, including inductions, equipment and access
• Developing, reviewing and updating organisational and HR policies in line with UK employment law and best practice
• Advising on employment matters such as contracts, grievance and disciplinary procedures and staff entitlements
• Ensuring strong governance and compliance, including Charity Commission and Companies House requirements
• Overseeing GDPR compliance, health and safety and statutory obligations
• Supporting facilities management, including getting the reception area fully operational
• Providing hands-on support and coaching to the admin team
• Producing a clear written recommendations report by the three-month point to support continuity

About you You will bring:

• Strong experience in senior administration, operations or office management, ideally within the charity or third sector
• Experience or knowledge of organisational and HR policies
• Knowledge of UK employment rights and employment law
• Hands-on understanding of charity governance and regulatory compliance
• Working knowledge of GDPR and health and safety
• Experience managing suppliers and contracts
• Confidence supporting recruitment, onboarding and HR processes
• A supportive, coaching-style approach to working with others
• The ability to prioritise, work at pace and get things done
• Strong cultural competence and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

To support the development and delivery of inclusive programmes and supported employment opportunities for learning disabled people, ensuring participants receive appropriate supportwhile helping to build sustainable opportunities through partnerships and funding. 

Main duties and responsibilities 

Programme and participant support 

• Act as a key contact for learning disabled employees, volunteers and programme participants. 

• Support individuals to engage confidently in activities, work placements and employment opportunities and seek progression routes for all learning-disabled employees. 

• Help identify support needs and practical adjustments to enable participation in clubs and employment programmes. 

• Liaise with staff, families, carers and external support organisations where appropriate. 

• Ensure programmes remain accessible and inclusive. 

Programme coordination 

• Coordinate and oversee learning disability-focused activities: Tuesday evening adult social club; Friday evening youth sport club; hospitality and front of house employment programme. 

• Support scheduling, attendance monitoring and participant communication. 

• Gather feedback, outcomes and participant stories. 

• Help develop new opportunities and pathways for participation, skills and employment. 

• Work with staff across the organisation to embed inclusive practice. 

Funding and development 

• Research grants, trusts and funding opportunities related to disability inclusion, supported employment and community programmes. 

• Support preparation of funding applications and contribute information, participant case studies and impact evidence. 

• Build relationships with local organisations, partners and funders. 

• Help identify opportunities to grow and sustain the role and associated programmes. 

• Maintain records of participation and outcomes. 

• Collect evidence demonstrating impact and learning. 

• Contribute to reports for funders and stakeholders. 

Person specification 

Essential

• Experience working alongside learning disabled people in community, arts, employment or education settings. 

• Strong relationship-building and communication skills. 

• Understanding of inclusive practice and reasonable adjustments. 

• Ability to work independently and identify opportunities. 

• Good organisational skills with an ability to keep accurate records 

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and the internet 

Desirable

• Support Work qualification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory 

• Experience with fundraising, partnerships or bid writing desirable 

• An understanding of pan disability and employment

• Local to SEACC 

AT Beacon Project Support Officer (Operations & Data)
Salary: £26,500 – £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract/hours: 12-month fixed term (with potential to extend) | 35 hours per week (flexible, with occasional evenings/weekends)

About the Role

This is a pivotal role at the centre of a growing, community-led health initiative. The Project Support Officer (Operations & Data) will play a key part in coordinating day-to-day operations, monitoring performance, and ensuring the smooth delivery of the AT Beacon Project.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme Operations & Delivery: Coordinate Beacon Hub activities and manage operational logistics and support the delivery of key initiatives, such as the Fruit & Vegetable Prescription Programme.
• Data, Reporting & Insights: Maintain accurate and high-quality data systems, produce regular reports, support dashboard development, and analyse trends to inform decision-making.
