About the role
We are recruiting for a Policy Officer to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week, on a permanent contract. This is a home-based role, with occasional travel required to attend team meetings.

This role is key to supporting Alzheimer’s Society’s ambitions to drive major system and policy change in diagnosis, care and treatment across England, Northern Ireland and Wales at an exciting time in dementia policy. Evidence-based, collaborative, engaging and innovative policymaking will be central to everything the Policy Officer does.
As Policy Officer you will play an important role in determining what the Society thinks about the big issues affecting people affected by dementia. Through robust scoping and policy development, you will help to identify the action needed to affect change and help ensure our influencing activity is evidence-driven, timely and relevant across the three nations in which we work – nationally and locally.
You will be an expert policy advisor to colleagues across the Society and support Policy Managers to deliver against agreed integrated plans, including helping to monitor progress and performance and working with others to gather evidence, insight and data to underpin our policy work. Key to the success of this role is engaging others in the policy development process, sharing analysis, opinion and insight to inspire high-quality, dynamic policymaking.
First stage interviews for this role have been provisionally scheduled to take place via MS Teams on Tuesday 31st March. This will likely be followed by an in-person second interview on Thursday 9th April.
About you
Joining us, you will have experience working in health research or medical sciences policy or equivalent knowledge or qualification (e.g. degree in a relevant science/health discipline). You’ll also have worked in a complex policy environment, and you’ll have a sound understanding of the wider political environment, preferably in relation to health and care. You’ll have experience involving patients, service users and/or those living with long-term health conditions in your work.
Crucially, you will be a team player, naturally collaborative, with good attention to detail and be curious and challenging of the status quo. This role will play a vital role in supporting guests using our all year-round Day Centre and Night Shelter. UR4Driving supports individuals who have experienced the criminal justice system, or are at risk of entering it, to gain their driving licence, rebuild confidence, and move towards independence. The driving licence is a powerful tool, opening access to employment, structure and self-worth.
As our Employment & Training Co-ordinator, you will be embedded within the UR4Driving team, helping participants make the most of their progress by supporting them into meaningful volunteering, training, or employment. Many of our participants face significant barriers including chaotic lifestyles, trauma histories, long-term unemployment, poor digital literacy, and limited formal education. This role is about building trust,offering practical support, and creating pathways that are realistic, motivating and sustainable.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Team Lead to run our Inters Group Session (ages11-14) at Oasis@Knights. This is an opportunity to run engaging and informative activities for 20-40 young people aged 11-14 in the Lambeth area, inspiring them to reach their potential and to make a real difference to their community. The successful candidate will be responsible for running these sessions weekly, managing session staff, delivering engaging activities, attending occasional day trips, as well as responding to and reporting any safeguarding concerns.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To lead the delivery of youth sessions at Knights Youth Centre (KYC) and facilitate youth provision in line with the ethos, values and vision of Oasis.
- To work and engage with young people (aged 11-14), by delivering planned sessions, activities and occasional trips for 20-40 individuals.
- Deliver informal education opportunities and small group mentoring within the identified sessions and the wider community.

The successful post holder must have:
· Proven experience in leading youth work provision for young people aged 11-14.

As Deputy Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for providing the leadership, operational management, supervision, training and support of the senior HI CBT therapists, LI CBT therapists and counselors in Mind in Bexley IAPT working closely with the Head of Psychological Therapies and Clinical Lead and Service Lead in delivering the objectives of the service.
You are required to work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/team. In addition, to utilize research skills for audit, policy and service development and to propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the team/service.
We are looking for a highly experienced clinician with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, who will provide clinical supervision, management and leadership to the senior clinicians and ensures that the service operates in accordance with NICE guidelines.
The post involves being able to work flexibly and to be able to work at least one evening session (i.e. 12am – 8pm one day).
Main responsibilities
- · Oversee clinical caseloads of clinical staff and report findings in management meetings as requested.
- · Support the Step 2 and Step 3 leads within the office and staff working remotely in ensuring the safe and clinically effective case management of cases, including the oversee of duty supervision.
- · Ensure that the fidelity of treatment across the service is upheld and any issues reported
- · Ensure the consistency of supervision decisions across the service and to escalate any reported problems
- · Ensure that staff are regularly informed of any chances to service policies and adhere to protocols.
- · Provide a specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to staff in primary care, contributing directly to client’s formulation and treatment. This will include assessment, individual and group interventions, risk management and referral on to other mental health services as required.
- · Provide specialist advice on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management and including liaising with staff across all sectors of care (for example primary care, secondary care and specialist/tertiary services). This will include support for all staff at Mind in Bexley when present in the office.
- · Support the Head of Psychological Therapies IAPT and Clinical Lead and Service Lead with service performance responsibilities and representing the service at the external meetings, e.g. with G.P’s and ICB commissioners and other meetings as needed.
- · Support the Safeguarding Lead with Safeguarding staff queries across the organisation with documentation and management. This includes regular attendance at the local safeguarding meetings as required.
- · Support the Head of Psychological Therapies as a senior clinician, manager and leader for a team of psychologists, psychological therapists and trainees. This will include governance responsibilities, creating and implementing polices, service development, recruitment, performance reviews etc.

You’ll also work closely with other members of the Strategic Evidence team - our in-house experts for dementia data, economics, care and clinical research evidence, responsible for gathering and generating evidence on the scale and impact of dementia across the UK; contributing authoritative, impactful evidence to inform policy making and strategic decision-making.
You will be part of an even larger Evidence, Policy & Influencing (EP&I) function which is laser-focused on ending the devastation of dementia through changing policy. The charity operates an award-winning fine-dining restaurant open to the public inside HMP Brixton, training kitchens in the prison estate, horticulture projects at HMP Send and HMP Erlestoke, a commercial bakery in Brixton, and a bespoke delivery service, Catered by Clink.
Additionally, Clink Events is our social enterprise catering business with food produced by the women in HMP Downview and also in an additional kitchen at Herne Hill and then served by alumni on front of house at some of the best venues in London including: the Guildhall, the Science Museum, Cutty Sark, Kew Gardens and the Camden Roundhouse. In 2024, across 218 events, The Clink fed 36,000 people.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Clink Training Café, located in Herne Hill, is a real-life professional kitchen and café that provides young people with meaningful work experience over a 12-week programme. During this time, participants work towards five accredited City & Guilds qualifications while gaining hands-on hospitality and employability skills.
We work closely with the Youth Justice Service, as well as Children in Care and Care Leavers teams, to engage vulnerable and at-risk young people in the programme. Many of the young people we support are at risk of criminal exploitation and grooming, and we also work with neurodivergent young people who have additional learning needs.
At our café in Herne Hill, we have supported 100% of our students who have participated in the program to graduate into further education or employment.
The Youth Support Worker will provide a high quality and responsive support, mentoring and advocacy service which creatively addresses the needs and risks of our students and graduates, enabling them to avoid the risk of criminal exploitation upon completion of the program and to progress into the next step of their education or employment pathway.
You will be joining The Clink Charity at an exciting time as we plan to scale the success of our Café project by taking on a second site in Guildford to work with vulnerable NEET young people across Surrey. This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to mobilise this project and to take a leading role in building referrals, establishing networks and establishing this new intervention.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Youth Support Worker, you are responsible for:
Individualised Support
• Act as a strong advocate for all students, representing their needs and interests.
• Complete a personalised support plan for each student to understand their individual needs, challenges, and personal circumstances.
• Work closely with young people to identify risks, recognise warning signs, and develop strategies to reduce the likelihood of involvement in criminal exploitation, grooming, or other harmful behaviours.

This is an exciting role in our committed policy team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. The government has just published a UK wide cross-government child poverty strategy, and made some historic commitments to reduce child poverty including scrapping the two-child limit and expanding free school meals in England. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You are proactive, analytical, and solutions-focused, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong emotional intelligence.
Most importantly, you are motivated by purpose. You understand, and care about, the challenges facing musicians today. A musical background would be an advantage.
