Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy and numeracy levels amongst people in the criminal justice system?

We’ve made substantial progress in recent years, with improvements and expansions to our delivery model and significant growth in our staff team. In Spring 2026, we will launch our refreshed organisational strategy, which will shape our work over the next three years and beyond. To support this growth, we are recruiting for a full time National Director of Operations to lead our delivery across England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and emerging community settings, with an ambition to reach Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in scaling our impact and strengthening our presence across the criminal justice system and beyond.

As National Director of Operations, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for our learning programmes in prisons and community settings. You will ensure high‑quality, consistent and accessible delivery, overseeing a team of six Regional Managers and a wider workforce of around 65 staff, volunteers and over 2,000 peer mentors trained each year.

Working closely with senior colleagues, partner organisations and national bodies such as HMPPS, you will drive programme excellence, innovation and partnership working. You will also play a key role in new business development, operational strategy, contractual delivery and ensuring we can reliably demonstrate the impact of our work.

The role requires an experienced operational leader with a deep commitment to improving outcomes for people facing disadvantage. You will bring:

• Senior leadership experience in a complex, multi‑site environment.
• A track record of delivering large-scale programmes and leading distributed teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience working with statutory bodies or large public-sector partners (e.g. HMPPS).
• Excellent judgement, communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
• Understanding of the criminal justice system, safeguarding, or alternative education environments (desirable).
• A collaborative, inclusive leadership style aligned with Shannon Trust’s values.

This is a home-based role but will require travel around the UK including overnight stays. This role is 5 days per week (35 hours) with working days/hours to be mutually agreed in line with business needs.

Space to Grow is an emotional health and wellbeing service in Newport for children aged 8-13 years old and we are looking for an experienced Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service Manager to join us on a fixed term, one-year maternity cover contract. We are seeking someone with strong knowledge of local services and organisations in Newport and experience working in collaboration with others in the sector. You will provide service leadership and local management for the BBC Children in Need “A Million and Me” Space to Grow programme in Newport ensuring the delivery of a high quality and safe service.

Work-based Knowledge

-Appreciation and awareness of issues facing young people who are not represented in early help and crisis support.

-A working knowledge of current mental health support agencies in the local area.

-Understanding of how to place children and parents and carers at the heart of the service, to enable them to have a voice and influence the work.

-Experience of leadership within an emotional health service.

About the Space to grow Programme

Space to grow is a nationwide partnership between The Children's Society in England and Wales, Children First in Scotland, and MACS in Northern Ireland.

The programme is funded by a £1 million grant from funding partners BBC Children in Need, The Health Foundation, and Impact on Urban Health, their single biggest award through an open funding programme, called the 'Million and Me Award'. To amplify and increase our impact and to reach as many children as possible, The Children's Society is investing a further £1million meaning we have £2million over the next two years to truly change the lives of children.

The funding is going to create a early support programme which will support children aged 8 - 13 years-old across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland with a strong focus on those children and families who are not represented in emotional health and well being and mental health services. Our ambition is to support children and their families as early as possible to help prevent children developing and experiencing and mental health difficulties as they become teenagers.

The programme will offer one-to-one time-limited wellbeing interventions to children and their families. We will utilise solution-focussed approaches to provide children and their families with a toolbox of strategies to help support the child's emotional health and wellbeing and manage their feelings. The direct work with children and families will be supported by digital interventions, through the use of our own wellbeing app “Me Time”.

At Community Connections Lewisham we are passionate about helping Lewisham residents (aged 18+) improve their health and wellbeing through discovering what exists in their own community, and becoming more able to access it. We aim to tackle the problems of social isolation and loneliness by using a person-centred approach. This means we recognise that each person we support has their own unique story, with their own particular challenges, needs, and personal goals.

Partnership Coordinators are the face of the Community Connections Lewisham team. They provide valuable support to both clients and professionals by running the phoneline, giving guidance and advice on a wide range of topics by referring or signposting to relevant services that are available in the community. They play a crucial role in the triaging, coordination and effective administration of the entire Community Connections project and acting as a front door service to the rest of the voluntary sector.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Woodland Adviser - Dyfi to Dwyryd (known internally as Outreach Adviser). The post will be part of the Dyfi to Dwyryd Treecape (D2D) programme team working with others to create landscape-scale change through protecting, restoring and creating a mosaic of diverse habitats with trees and woods at its heart.  Established 5 years ago, the team works with a range of landowners and partners to deliver a variety of tree and woodland-related conservation actions including agroforestry, ancient tree protection and woodland management.

A company vehicle will be provided for this role. Please note that out Company Vehicle Policy is also under review as part of our Job Families and Contract Review project, so the eligibility criteria therein are subject to change in due course.

The Role:

• Support the delivery of the Dyfi to Dwyryd Treescape (D2D) programme, ensuring projects are well-managed, effective and on budget.
• Inspire and enable landowners and partners to adopt impactful woodland and tree conservation practices across the Treescape area.
• Provide specialist agroforestry advice while also supporting wider woodland management, ancient tree protection and woodland restoration.
• Act as a catalyst for partnership activity by developing new project ideas and helping secure funding with colleagues, consultants and contractors.
• Lead or support project development in collaboration with Coed Cadw teams, including fundraisers, to turn ideas into deliverable initiatives.
• Organise and run demonstration events and workshops to inform and motivate landowners on best practice in tree and woodland management.
• Work with communications and engagement teams to create materials that raise the profile and importance of trees and woodland.
• Build strong networks with farming groups, businesses and public-sector partners to expand reach, increase impact and enhance support for landowners, including managing tree stock delivery with the Outreach team
• This is a homebased contract, with regular travel to locations within Dyfi to Dwyryd. Occasional travel to other offices and remote locations may also be required.

The Candidate:

• Proven experience in project and budget management, delivering work on time and within agreed targets.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, building productive relationships with landowners, farmers, communities, partners, contractors and volunteers.
• Demonstrated partnership working ability, including networking, relationship development and collaborative problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with confidence presenting in meetings, face-to-face settings, group environments and on camera.
• Experience providing land management advice, particularly relating to conservation, woodland creation, agroforestry and woodland management.
• Highly organised, with the ability to plan, prioritise and adapt under pressure while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office and ideally GIS for mapping, planning and reporting, plus knowledge of Welsh farming and rural land-use contexts.
• Proficient in the Welsh language ideally to a high fluency (spoken and written) and possess a full driving licence.

We are looking for someone to provide key administrative and practical support for a range of projects. The post holder will have excellent administration and interpersonal skills, helping to ensure our projects run smoothly by carrying out tasks effectively and on time, using their own initiative to problem solve and seeking clarity where needed. Pay and conditions

Specific responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be experienced and confident in working to tight deadlines, responding to last-minute changes, and prioritising competing demands in a high-profile environment. This role is critical to supporting a highly performing group of staff and trustees as we seek to transform lives through the prevention and treatment of blindness. This role will sit within the Business Support Team, which is responsible for the day to day running of the organisation and will be crucial in creating a revised HR strategy and ensuring that the organisation’s compliance with key statutory and regulatory requirements are maintained at all times. Job Summary for Colorectal Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist

In our Services team we aim to deliver clear and accessible support offer for people affected by a bowel cancer diagnosis through a clinically focused ‘front door’ of services. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead to deliver a strategy which will extend our reach to bowel cancer patients and establish referral routes from the NHS into our services.

As our Clinical Nurse Specialist you will work on the Charities Ask the Nurse Service alongside other specialist nurses. This is our service for patients to ask questions or concerns about bowel cancer. You will be responsible answering queries from those affected by bowel cancer and managing and developing the service.

You will work closely with the Clinical Lead to ensure Bowel Cancer UK’s clinical focus meets the needs of those affected by bowel cancer and is up to date. You will also provide expert clinical advice, with guidance of the Clinical Lead, across all areas of Bowel Cancer UK - including health professional education, policy, communications and fundraising equipping them with timely health system and clinical information.

Main responsibilities

• Support the Clinical Lead on, development, delivery and effective implementation of our core clinical (nurse led) services offer (Ask The Nurse service).
• Support the Clinical Lead on ensuring sound clinical governance across our clinical services.
• Manage our engagement and support offer to healthcare professionals to develop our networks and establish referral pathways from the NHS into our services.

Place of work: Salford CVS’ offices in Eccles, Salford, M30 0FN 

We are seeking to recruit to a brand new post and are looking for an experienced and strategically minded person to strengthen Salford CVS’s strategic VCSE leadership role within Salford.

Main purposes of the post

To provide strategic leadership for Salford CVS’s health and social care work, ensuring the VCSE sector is influential, represented and embedded within key strategic partnerships, boards and system-wide initiatives across Salford.

The postholder will work closely with the Senior Strategic Lead for Wellbeing, Health and Social Care to shape strategic agendas, strengthen cross-sector relationships and ensure VCSE voices help influence the city’s long-term plans relating to Health and Social Care.
