The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is a charity and membership society for those working or interested in tropical medicine and global health. We currently have around 2,000 members and Fellows from more than 100 countries, with a network of more than 10,000 involved with our work in some way.
RSTMH currently publishes two peer-reviewed scientific journals, Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (TRSTMH) and International Health. TRSTMH was launched in 1908, is published monthly, and is a hybrid journal. International Health was launched in 2009, is published bi-monthly, and is Open Access. In September 2025, we announced the development of a new journal looking at the use of Artificial Intelligence in Global Health, which will be launching around May 2026. All three journals are published by Oxford University Press (OUP) and are supported by a global team of dedicated Editorial Boad members.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with relevant publishing experience to support the operation of our three academic journals. The role will involve providing administrative and editorial support to the Managing Editor, liaising with our authors, reviewers, external editors, and publishing partner, contributing to and - where appropriate - leading on journal development initiatives, and collaborating with internal teams within the RSTMH.

The Senior Special Events Manager will lead on the delivery and development of the Special Events Strategy working closely with peers across the fundraising department and managing two Special Events Officers. The postholder will manage key external stakeholders, including the Philanthropy Board and HNWI donors, to ensure the success of the special events programme through budget-setting, KPI monitoring and team management. The Senior Special Events Manager will personally manage a small portfolio of large, high-impact special events and develop the special events strategy in line with the wider organisational strategy.
The selected candidate will have significant experience of managing special events and will experience of developing relationships with HNWIs and event committees. Alongside good internal relationship management with senior stakeholders, in this role you will be the organisation’s expert in special events, so experience leading special events strategy is highly desirable, ideally within a charity setting.

Working closely with the Head of Individual Giving and Legacies, this role will act as the operational lead for Individual Giving activity, translating strategic direction into effective, insight-led campaigns. You will be responsible for the strategic leadership of income generation, communications and public engagement, as the Income Generation Director brings together fundraising, marketing, communications and commercial activity to grow support for Devon Air Ambulance and generate long-term sustainable income.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of the corporate strategy, providing insight, challenge and leadership across the organisation. You will hold responsibility for public engagement and income generation activity across both the Charity and the Trading Company. The postholder will need to be willing to hold/apply for a Gambling Commission Personal Management Licence for the lottery.

The rapid rise and use of digital technology have permeated much of society and transformed the way many humans interact. There has been a broad array of research efforts, but the full implications - both positive and negative - on human physiology, psychology, behaviour, well-being and mental health remain unclear. To this end, since mid-2024, HFF has established and will continue to grow a multi-year research portfolio in the UK and the US on the Effects of the Usage of Digital Technology on Brain Development, Social Behaviours and Mental Health in Children and Young People. In 2025, we ran our first annual call and recently announced the outcome of these awards on our website.For our second annual funding round in 2026, we recently released an open call for proposals.
As we continue to build our funding portfolio through annual funding calls, we are now looking for a Senior Funding Manager to join the small HFF Science Team in a permanent role.
SUMMARY PURPOSE - WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND ACHIEVING
The Senior Funding Manager is a newly created role in the HFF Science Team.
You will work with the Director of Research and the Senior Programme Officer to administer the Foundation’s science portfolio of grants schemes, awarded grants and associated activities. You will manage and deliver the end-to-end grant application, review and award processes. You will act as a key point of contact for external liaison relating to the schemes.
Working with the rest of the team, you will also help to develop and deliver events for Foundation grant holders. The role may require some domestic and international travel, including to meet grant holders for horizon scanning, monitoring and impact assessment purposes.
You may also contribute to the Foundation’s wider portfolio of work, and the delivery of our strategy.

About the Role
This role provides senior leadership for the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) and the Schools Wellbeing Partnership (SWP), two specialist membership groups hosted by the National Children’s Bureau that support schools, organisations and government to improve children and young people’s experiences of bullying, wellbeing and belonging. The post is a 10 month maternity leave cover position, focused on maintaining continuity, stability and impact across established programmes, partnerships and campaigns.
The Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) is a UK wide membership network of over 300 organisations working together to prevent bullying and create safer environments for children and young people. It leads national activity such as Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks Day, develops evidence informed resources and training, and influences policy and practice at a national level.
The Schools Wellbeing Partnership (SWP) supports schools to embed whole school approaches to wellbeing and belonging through networks, tools and peer learning with school leaders and partners across England.
During the maternity cover period, the postholder will ensure the smooth delivery of core programmes and campaigns, including leadership of Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks Day planning, communications and partnerships. They will maintain relationships with members, funders, government, parliamentarians and high profile supporters, sustain policy engagement and external visibility, and support income generation activity already in progress. The role also includes management of the team, oversight of communications activity, and maintaining momentum across existing projects and networks while providing stable and supportive team leadership.
