There are currently nine state-funded University Maths Schools, each established in partnership with a leading university and specialising in mathematics and the mathematical sciences for students aged 16–19. The network continues to grow, with two further schools in Nottingham and Durham due to open.
Together, these schools are helping more young people – particularly those from backgrounds currently under-represented in the mathematical sciences – to access an outstanding mathematics education and progress to ambitious futures.

As our Careers + Employer Partnerships Manager, you'll build the employer relationships, careers intelligence and national expertise that help every University Maths School give students outstanding information, advice and guidance about mathematical STEM pathways.
About the role
You'll lead U-Maths' work to strengthen careers education and employer engagement across the network.
Working closely with schools, employers, universities and alumni, you'll build partnerships, develop careers insight, support careers and UCAS leads, create high-quality resources and lead national careers opportunities that individual schools would find difficult to create alone.
You'll help schools understand the skills, qualifications and experiences valued by mathematical employers, ensuring that careers advice, university guidance, research projects and enrichment activities are informed by current sector insight.
What you'll be doing
You'll:
- build long-term relationships with employers, universities, alumni and sector partners;
- develop and share national intelligence about mathematical STEM pathways and employer needs;
- support careers, UCAS and project leads across the University Maths School network;
- create careers and pathways resources for schools and outreach programmes;
- lead U-Maths' annual North and South student careers conferences and other national careers activities;
- provide additional support where individual students need something beyond existing school provision.

Role: Project Manager
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and enthusiastic Project Manager to coordinate our TeenTech activities. You will be working within a highly experienced team (including lead project managers) and the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering and co-ordinating impactful projects that engage teenagers and schools across the UK.
Main Responsibilities

Co-ordinating school/college participation in our activities.

Supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of TeenTech projects from inception to completion.

Location & Working Arrangements

This role is open to UK-based candidates who have the legal right to work in the UK.

The position is primarily home-based (remote), with attendance required at in-person events throughout the UK.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel to approximately 12–18 events annually. Depending on the event location, this will usually involve an overnight stay.

Terms: 12 month contract. There may be an opportunity to extend.

Working pattern: Part-time role, flexible working (30 hours) per week.

Salary: £30,000–£32,000 FTE (pro rata 0.8FTE).

About Mentoring Works
ELBA’s Mentoring Works programme has been running since 1996 and has supported thousands of young people across London and beyond. Mentoring Works connects Year 10 and Sixth Form/college students to volunteer business mentors working in the City and Canary Wharf. Mentors and mentees connect regularly for sessions designed to develop the knowledge, skills and qualities needed for future careers. Sessions explore the Skills Builder framework and key employability competencies but can also be tailored to individual needs. Mentoring Works provides resources, guides mentees in their own decisions and discoveries and promotes networks, opportunities and social mobility.
Purpose of the job
To be responsible for supporting the key aims and deliverables of Mentoring Works. The Mentoring Works Project Manager will need to develop and manage strong relationships with schools and colleges; recruit students and engage and train business volunteers as mentors; design resources; deliver sessions; monitor relationships; support with safeguarding and produce robust impact evaluations for the programme. You will be required to support other members of the Mentoring Works team and your colleagues as and when required. The post will be managed by the Head of Programmes - Education, with further support and training from the Mentoring Works team. The post holder will have regular one-to-one support for input and guidance to achieve agreed success indicators and will be subject to annual performance appraisals with mid-year reviews.

Job Description
- Manage relationships with schools, colleges and employers, with particular responsibility for ELBA’s partners
- To promote safety and wellbeing of students at all times, to follow ELBA’s safeguarding policies and have full regard to the policies of the partners engaged in the programme.
- Oversee individual employee volunteer (mentor) and student (mentee) relationships to ensure programme objectives are being met.
- Plan and deliver employee volunteer and student recruitment sessions.

- Lead on development and delivery of group activities to support the Mentoring Works programme and feedback sessions with students.

Role Summary
We're looking for a Press and Media Manager to help us tell the story of our work and grow our profile across local, regional, and national media. This is a press-led role, with the majority of time focused on proactive and reactive media work, alongside supporting wider marketing activity where it strengthens campaigns and storytelling.
You'll own and drive our day-to-day media presence, ensuring communications activity directly supports our core goal: increasing the number and diversity of employers offering work experience across the UK.
You'll take the lead on media work - pitching stories, building journalist relationships, drafting press releases, and developing thought leadership content including blogs, op-eds, and features. For major set-piece moments (around six per year), you'll work alongside an external PR agency to help secure national coverage. You’ll also work closely with, CEO Nick Brook, and will have the opportunity to work alongside founder Robert Peston and Chair Andrew Law at key moments.
An early and significant focus will be the launch of our inaugural State of Work Experience report in autumn 2026, a major annual publication designed to shape the national conversation on work experience, skills and opportunity.
This isn't about publicity for its own sake. Your work will be measured by how effectively it contributes to employer and partnership growth, amplifies the voices of young people we support, and positions Futures for All as a leader in the work experience and social mobility space.
What success looks like in this role

Key Duties / Responsibilities
Press and Media
- Lead day-to-day media activity: identifying stories, writing press releases, pitching to journalists, and responding to media enquiries
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and bloggers across local, regional, trade, and national outlets
- Identify newsworthy angles and develop stories aligned to organisational priorities
- Create compelling press and thought leadership content, including blog posts, op-eds, case studies, and feature articles
- Monitor media coverage and maintain a media mentions log; report on reach and impact
- Coordinate with our contracted PR agency on major campaigns and set-piece moments
- Brief spokespeople and prepare key messages for interviews
- Provide occasional out-of-hours support for press activity where required
- Occasional travel across the UK for key events
Marketing
- Work closely with colleagues to align press activity with marketing campaigns aimed at growing employer sign-ups and regional partnerships
- Support and contribute to the creation of marketing materials, email campaigns, and social media content where it aligns with press and campaign activity

General
- Maintain and grow our media contacts database

Our UniCoach Programme trains university students to become academic coaches, supporting small groups of pupils to build their confidence, independence, resilience and academic progress.
As an Associate Programme Lead, you'll recruit, train and support university volunteers, build strong relationships with school and university partners, coordinate programme delivery and evaluate its impact.
A typical UniCoach programme features 20-30 pupils, and 5-10 undergraduates, and involves:

A typical LifeCycle programme features a cohort of 20-30 undergraduate students, who receive six 60-minute online coaching sessions, alongside three in-person workshops.
Depending on your qualifications and experience, you may either:

Programme Availability:
Programme assignments are offered throughout the academic year as partner schools and universities confirm delivery. Support:

Training:

Main Responsibilities
Contribute to CUK mission and its strategic objectives:

Provide strategic oversight of the organisation’s media strategy, ensuring it aligns with broader organisational, communications, and campaign goals, and establish clear processes for evaluating its success.

Work alongside other Senior Managers across Citizens UK on cross-organisational activity including through the Senior Management Group

Support the Living Wage Foundation’s Political Engagement Strategy by building and sustaining cross-party support for the organisation’s mission and objectives.
Situational awareness and research:

Lead regular updates on key audiences, tracking positions on issues of interest and ensuring the team is fully informed.

Guide the team in proactive media monitoring, enabling timely responses to significant developments.

Collaborate with the Senior Research Manager to conduct and commission impactful research, driving media campaigns that effectively reach and engage target audiences.
Strategy development:

Work alongside other Senior Managers in the Communications Team to shape and guide the overall communications strategy.
Lead on all media and messaging outputs, including developing high-quality materials, coordinating media events, and delivering media training.
Reputational & risk management:
-
Develop and manage the organisation’s risk register, offering strategic oversight and serving as a primary contact for crisis communications.

Manage and respond to reactive media enquiries promptly, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s values and objectives.

Draft key messages and FAQs for media interviews and public responses, and advise senior leadership on sensitive media or reputational issues.

Represent the Living Wage Foundation effectively in senior stakeholder interactions and participate in out-of-hours press duties when needed.
Materials development and dissemination:

Oversee the Media Team in producing engaging press releases, blogs, opinion pieces, and media briefings to elevate the Living Wage Foundation’s profile and the voices of workers and employers within the Living Wage movement.

Ensure media outputs and communications reflect the organisation’s values and uphold a consistent voice.

Create and refine key messaging for public communications, including FAQs and response guides.
Social media and website

Ensure consistency in messaging and alignment across all media and digital platforms in collaboration with the wider communications team.
External relationships (including media and press)

Lead employer case study development, identifying and preparing Living Wage employers to speak to media and champion a real Living Wage.

Drive stakeholder engagement efforts, cultivating valuable relationships with Living Wage employers, campaign partners, and media contacts.

Build and maintain relationships with journalists across print, digital, and broadcast media to secure quality coverage.

Collaborate with the Public Engagement Team to draft emails, speeches, speaker notes, briefings, and press notices for political engagements.

Strengthen and maintain broad cross-party support for the Living Wage agenda.
Campaign & events management

Provide a link between Events team and Senior Leadership Team to ensure efficient decision-making around key events.

Lead on media and messaging elements of agreed comms-led campaigns.
Internal comms & knowledge management

Oversee the development and maintenance of a comprehensive press database, mapping key media contacts and publications in line with the Living Wage Foundation’s objectives.
Internal relationships

Work closely with the Senior Digital and Communications Manager to guide and oversee team initiatives.

Learning, expertise & DEI

Lead media training sessions for LWF staff and Living Wage employers, enhancing their confidence and effectiveness in media engagements.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across the LWF and Citizens UK, including communications and DEI teams, to develop and implement ethical storytelling practices, ensuring lived experience is represented responsibly, inclusively, and in line with organisational guidance.

About you and the role
This role will see you creating engaging content and running our social media feeds. This is a highly autonomous role requiring creativity, problem solving and analytical skills.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, varied working environment and be full of creative ideas. You’ll be as happy filming and editing reels, as you are contributing ideas for campaigns . You’ll be confident writing reactive posts for LinkedIn and you’ll have an eye for making designs as beautiful as the food we serve in schools.
You’ll be good with people - able to work with high profile patrons, to reassure any nervous first time interviewees and capable of a cool head in busy kitchens or at events. You’ll juggle multiple projects and know how to unearth stories that bring our mission to life. A collaborative approach will be at the heart of your approach as you help position Chefs in Schools as an innovative changemaker in education and child health.

Create exciting, constantly evolving content, including videos, photos, graphics and copy that drives specific actions and conversions that support our cause

Planning, filming and editing of reels to our house style - including recipe videos, kitchen tips, patron visits to school kitchens and shoulder to shoulder interview style films.

Plan, pitch and deliver social media campaigns end-to-end, from concept through to launch and beyond — including production coordination, communications planning and stakeholder management

Support the growth of our patron and ambassador work, proactively identifying opportunities and ensuring prominent placement on a variety of owned and external platforms
